Has anyone tried the new Victor Power Waves 11 & 12?

I tried the Power Waves 12, its for those who do not suit stiff rackets, but most of all it can handle high tension and feels good.
I strung it with Ashaway Micro Legend at 23-24lbs, my smashes are fast, and touch shots are easier to perform too because of the control
overall a great racket, if you are not the smasher type of player

Just purchase the powerwaves 11, can't wait to try it out. Picked the 11 over 12 as 12 was too flexible for my liking, previously had a supernano 5 with the same flex and slimer diamond frame couldn't generated enough power for smashes. I must say the finish and built is first rate as with victor rackets, definately worth the price of s$110. :)

Hi blackvios,
Where did you purchase the racquet from?

Got a few enquiries on where the racket was bought, i got from so far cheapest place for victor as he is the one who brings it in together with SOTX (he don't sell SOTX but sends to his friend Mr Soh). Mr Lim of Artric pacific, powerwaves series $110, nano series $100.:)

Oh, you must be a regular at that shop? Cos i enquired before got a different price from you. He offered me $120 for the powerwaves i think...

Didn't buy much from him but always go to his shop and chat with him. Nice guy, unfortunately his 2 knot stringing i don't prefer as much as 4 knot from kemin. Previously only bought a super nano5 and some shuttles only.

Brown's in Toronto, where I got a great price on my Super Nano, is selling the 11 for C$190. $70 more than their current SN price.
PW aren't available in Korea yet, I don't think. They have it on the Victor Korea website but it isn't in any of the online shops.
Even Mattshop in Taiwan, which I thought had the best Victor prices, wants S$134 as the members' price.

I note that Mr Lim at Atric now sells at least three brands of rackets with this "Inner Wave" technology: Hart, Toalson, and Victor.

Any idea which one is better? Any differences among the 3 brands?

I cannot claim to know which of the three brands is better at the "Inside Wave" technology. For all I know they are clones of each other. Quite possible don't you think?
What I do know about the Hart Infinite Nano Flex series that has the wave technology: tapered shaft, slightly "oversized" racket head, 82 hole grommet system.
But like I mentioned in another thread, the Hart racket (or at least the one I have) seems to have a problem whereby the same brand and type of grip absorbs less sweat when wrapped on the Hart, compared to the other rackets I have.
And it is less powerful than the Protech Maxo Nano 6000 I have, same string and same tension. Could be the Hart is too (head) light.

That sounds good. But have you tried the racquet yet? Any initial thoughts? Btw what is your string's tension?

blackvios, looks like for the sake of those that are far away, you might still have to do them a favour with at least a short review...

Not play with it yet, strung with bg66 24lbs. Initial thoughts compared to MP99, it is similar stiffness to MP99, maybe slightly stiffer. Generate a faster swing motion. Feels like AT700 but less stiff, not head heavy.

I have test the both victor power wave 11 and 12..both are amazing racket!!
they got 2 patents on this racket, you can check it on the victor website, or you can find a store through using google search: m-geometric badminton..
you'll see it ..the price is competative!!

Just had my first session with my new powerwaves 11 3u racket. Overall very satisfied with it in terms of feel and power from smashes in comparison with my 3u MP99. They were much better and the swing speed is comparably faster too for the victor, just what i was looking for. Net play still need some time to get use to but for the first session with it, i would say the transition to it from MP99 is easy. Both rackets stringed with BG66 24lbs

I just bought 5-Power Wave 11s and tried them out last night. Compared to the MP99s, here are some things I noticed:
PW11 - strung at 26x28lbs with Yonex BG65
MP99 - strung at 26x28lbs with Yonex BG65
- PW11 heavier than 99
- PW11 has some kind of dampening on its frame which reduces vibration (I guess a good thing), but I can't feel the bird when making net shots
- PW11 has thicker frame than 99 which causes some drag when swinging
I was able to generate a big smash out of the PW11, but as with any new racquet, it will take time to get use to the new timing.
I'll post more information after the OCAA Championships held at Centennial College this weekend. Hopefully these racquets will bring me to the Nationals in British Columbia! :)

I played a few times with the PW12, very good offensive racquet!

After trying it out last night at Lee's Badminton Club, the power waves 11 (IMHO) is a decent racquet.
The racquet is quite heavy at around 99g after stringing, but it can assist you in generating powerful shots. Since it is quite heavy, the defense suffers a little when reacting to quick drives or pushes to the body.
There is a dampening device on the handle of the racquet which seems to assist in absorbing the vibrations from smashing.
Hopefully I don't break this racquet at the shaft like some of my previous Yonex racquets (Ti 10, Nano 7k).:D

I strung a PW-11 last night. The tension was 35 lbs X 39 lbs crank tension (adjusted to drop approximately one pound after lockout). It's a very sturdy racquet for high-tension user. The string is BG-65.

WOW, 35lbs by 39 lbs! Didnt know that it can withstand such a high tension..
