I bought two NanoSpeed 9000 this week, makes for a full bag of Yonex rackets now!! 800DEF, MusclePower 33, two NanoSpeed 9000's.

Will I notice the differene beween a 800DEF to a NanoSpeed 9000?

What are your opinions of the 9000?

I owned a AT800DEF 4U and a NS9000X 2U. Though AT800DEF is said to be a head-heavy racket, I find that it is easier to manoeuver than the NS9000X. Reaction time is faster when it comes to defence. The only explanation is the weight difference between the two is huge because they are 4U and 2U. In terms of power and smashes, both are more or less the same. Nowadays, I tend to opt for AT800DEF in my games. I enjoy playing with it more. I would like to add one point. I also have a NS8000 3U. It is on par with AT800DEF for defense play. The power is not as impressive though.

Both the 9000 I have are 3U which is the same as the 800DEF I have as well.

So from what you have said the 9000 3U and 800DEF are both good for defense.

Havent I read that the 9000 is beter for singles as well?

Have you compared your NS9000 and AT800DEF?
I personally feel that my NS8000 3U is definitely as close to AT800DEF in terms of defense. I'm not sure about NS9000 3U cos mine is a 2U. I presume yours should be better for defense because it is lighter. Basically, the weight plays a big part even though 2 rackets are of the same model.

I havent compared them as yet. I find I get better smashing power from 3U than my 2U. Also better for net shots.

I just tried out my new NS9K 3UG5 strung with white BG68 Ti tonight... I can definetly say it made a big difference in my game. My defence improved a lot from my old MP23, as I could maneuver the racket much easier. My smashing, somewhat surprisingly, improved as well. Maybe I was enthusiastic and put a lot of energy into my badminton tonight after a week off, but my smashes packed a lot more power than usual. Perhaps it's the new technology in the racket, or the different type of string, but I can say my singles game definetly turned towards the better :D

I have a AT 800 DF 4U & NS 9000 X 3 U.

AT800 DF in 4 U version, it's just not possible to generate any powerfull smashes (too light) but it's very easy to handle for all other kind of shots. Very good for net play and soft touch shots.

It took me months to get used to the NS 9000 X because of the bouncy charater for netplay but once you get used to it, it's a very good all round racket. Nearly as powerful as the TI-10 but very good for defence play and fast drive games as well.

NS9000 X (3U) and TI-10 (2U) are my current choice of rackets.

I still find more power in my AT800OF 4U than in my NS9K 3U.

I imagine its because im used to head heavy rackets.

Also, is it my imagination is the 9000X easier to maneuver than the NS8000?

I don't have a problem generating powerful smashes with my At800-DE.

(At least, no less powerful than with any other racket I've used.)

well it has the same power as the mp100 but the defense is very good. I can change direction at last second with ease now. I'm using the x version.
