more new toys from my trip... oh yeah. a lot of new toys. :)
this time it is this pair of babies:

i went around HK twice, and it was the only pair of shoes that fits my feet. i have wide feet and all the Mizunos, Asics, Hi-Tecs, Adidas are just too narrow it was like torture.
i was using a pair of Hi-Tec Adrenaline Pros, and with some alternations, it just manage to fit.
but the SHB-95. it fitted. it just fitted. damn, it was an expensive pair of shoes, but it fitted.
anyway, beside fitting my feet, they are a very nice pair of shoes. the toe box is wide and comfortable, the leather wrap over the toe so when i drag my left feet, it won't wear out the shoes as much.
the leather sides/top plus the mesh side is very soft and comfortable, just about the softest leather i have tried.
the sole is not a gum rubber sole. this is the first time i have used a non-gum rubber sole shoe. i was a bit skeptical. well, i wore these in two different gyms. one is very dust, the other one is ok. the verdict? i think they are marginally less sticky than the gum rubber one. or perhaps they are not worn in yet. but my initial feeling is that they are just a little bit worse. so little i hardly notice the difference unless i look for it.
my quest for the perfect pair of shoes is still on-going, and probably will be for a long while.
just remember, if you can't get to the birdie, you lose, if your footwork is slow, you can't get to the birdie, if you don't have good shoes, you can't execute your footwork. so your shoes are crucial to your games.
