It usually happens if its strung at a high tension over a period of time. But not all rackets will have the same effect. Sometimes its also due to the grommets. Btw what racket are those?

You can put some epoxy on it to decrease the rate of cutting in.

What is your tension and string??

that is happened by using electric stringing machine and crank stringing machine because the pulling speed was too faster so that the strings got a big vibration and strong pulling strength to hurt the frame.
i normally use 23lbs for main string, i think that is no-hurt on frame.

it must be speed stringing;)

I haven't been stringing for that long, but I have crank machine.

Surely when you go to tension the string, it is already taught to the frame because you pull it through by hand? Or do you mean it occurs when you pull it through by hand?

Mine only pulls about 30-40cm or so.

I have never seen that before. I string my racquets at 24lbs main and I have never even noticed a damaged grommet.

It is due to improper alignment of the grommet holes when they were drilled. One side of the grommet, when strung, will have the string rubbing the edge of the grommet instead of being in the centre. Poor finishing work at the plant.

I have seen frame cutting string and never the string cutting the frame. Perhaps trying a different brans of racket will help ?

Another possible reason could be that the damage was done when replacing the grommet with the wrong tools like an awl.

some of stringing shop do restring badminton and tennis rackets both, forget changing pounds for badminton so that it became over tensions for badminton racket.
another reason is manufacture's fault, drilled wrong holes or punched over diamentions. anyway you can get another free racket.
