Hi there everyone. I am wanting to purchase a Yonex Armortec 800 Defensive racquet. I would just like to find out opinions from those who use it to play. Fell free to tell me anything. Both the pros and the cons. Thanks a million! :D

a can't go wrong racket.
Concur wholeheartedly. The DE is excellent in all aspects. My only gripe is the frame strength, I feel it's (relatively speaking) weaker.
I'm actually trying to decide if I want to go back to the AT700, 800OF/DE right now. I have three AT700s on order but may change it to the DE. :p

By this I mean, compared to the AT700, which has traditional grommet holes. I'm convinced the DE with additional holes and thinner/more aero shaped frame contributes to a weaker frame as I have cracked two DEs from mishits (and I feel the rackets should not have cracked). For instance, I do more than a few mishits of that magnitude on my SOTX rackets and absolutely nothing happens. OK, some shuttle scuff marks but no frame crack...age. :p

I have the AT800DE 4U and really like it a lot. But I've never tried the AT800OF before. Is the difference between the two huge?
AT800DE doesn't seem to be head-heavy to me at all (maybe that's because it's a 4U).
Is AT800OF much more head-heavy than AT800DE?

I play doubles exclusively. Just thinking of playing singles hurts my knees. :p

It is recommended that I use to play for singles as I am a singles player. Does that really matter that I use it for singles despite it made more to doubles??

Nope, doesn't matter. Yonex's recommendations are just a guideline.

There is no stupid question really. But this has been answered many times in this forum before. Check out the FAQ page.

In short, U refers to the range of weight of the racket in its original condition w/o string. G refers to the grip circumference size.
