I just feel that it is quite incredible that Candra Wijaya/Gunawan can win titles again after several years of separation ..... not many players can do that ... you need time to gel again .... do you agree?

Agree. Roslin fought till the very end unlike his brother Hafiz who played horrificly/sluggishly in Thailand Open.....

There is but only a big one for the winner to take pictures with it.

Tony and Candra can Gel so well after many years because:

1.They are legends
2.There styles, attitude and thinking are perfectly suited to each other.
3.They are legends

Korea needs a singles player to really stand out and shine! LYI is the closest to date but they need a Lin Dan, LCW or PG type player. Has Korea ever had a singles player that great? Doubles obviously...This was actually discussed recently here (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33244) and a tiny bit here (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=413445&highlight=lee+hyun-il#post413445).

hmm, i personally don't think Tony is a U.S. Citizen yet, but if he is, i wouldn't be surprise either..On that note, i think the only BC member in here that can confirm this is Vtec101 from OCBC...;)

Conclusion from the finale:
- CHN's 2nd squad is so strong and spread threat to others. CHN grabbed 3 titles with one division was all-chinese duel. Finally, surprising BCL win his-long-waited MS crown -- his fans must be feeling like flying in the moon. Excellence performance of all!
- Tony/Candra is back with their spirits to beat home-favourite. It's unbelievable for this veteran!
- Dissapointment for host country and MAS's contingent with no title here. But I give notice that the KrO-06 is well organized and really unpredictable results.
- Last but not least, My fave Nova/Lilyana you rock again! I hope they can continuing this success in Madrid. Also for Jo/Gress, nice progress and keep on moving. Come on INA, kamu bisa! (you can do it)
**Congratz for whole victories, the end**

I don't think the Chinese national team that sent to Korea Open is belong to 2nd squad. Team China decided to split the national team into to camps, one go to Korea and the other go to Hong Kong Open. Just imagine if China had sent the full squad to KO then the whole Semi Final might very well represented by Chinese.
The biggest dissapointment indeed is coming from Malaysia, with such hugh full team and two top ranks players in the MD(KKK/CCH) and MS(LCW) events all crash out in the early round. The only consolation came from Wong Miew Choo and Roslin Hashim.
Tony/Chandra is still a very solid pair but I think they are not as powerful and quick as they use to. Their experiences brought them the title as the Koreans had many opportunities in both games but mades many unforce errors.

Perhaps members here may not know that the 'Canadian' voice that you heard live over TV yesterday for all the English annoucements, especially those preceding the prize giving ceremonies, was that of our own BC member, event.

Congratulations event for a job very well done. We heard you loud and clear, although you were a bit fast for me to catch initially. You know, Asian ears are not too accustomed to foreign accents, especially when spoken at a fast speed. ;)

I was hoping that the cameras will zero in on you, but I was disappointed. I'm sure the organizers must have been quite pleased with your performance at the mike and we should hear more of you in future KOs. :)

HI I am interested in the progress of the INA WD. What would be their ranking by this week after KO 2006? Can somebody inform me? ThanksWell, Polii/Novita will get 4590 points for being finalists in a 6* tournament and that will push out their previous tenth best finish of 1680 points so they will add 2910 and come up with 25848 points. Nobody behind them did better in Korea so they can only move up. No one will come down yet until the Hong Kong Open is over, I don't think, so they only team they can move ahead of is the Thai pair and Zhang/Wei, who didn't play Korea. The Thais also won points by making the QF so that gives them 2970 instead of 1680 so they move up to 25684 so Polii/Novita will be #7. All will change next week though because Zhang and Wei aren't using 2005 HKO points now and their total is based on fewer than 10 tournaments so they will only move up with their HKO results but many teams, including Polii/Novita, will lose their 3780 semi-final points from 2005 unless they perform as well again this year. In other words, they will almost certainly slide. Several teams - Zhang/Wei, Wong / Chin of Malaysia, Du/Yu of China, and Saralee/Sathinee - will not lose 2005 HKO points after next week and every top 10 team is playing in Hong Kong except Lee/Lee of Korea, whose points will stay the same because their 2005 HKO points are identical to their 2006 Korea Open points. Even if Polii/Novita reach the semi-finals, they will probably be leap-frogged by Zhang/Wei and Saralee/Sathinee, though Emms/Kellog or even the Taiwan pair could lose early and slide down.

Nurlita/Poluakan will end up with 10950 which will move them from 56th to 36th position but again they will lose 2005 HKO points if they don't do as well or better than last year's round of 16 finish.

So it's event... You did a great job, I heard everything from youWell, thanks. I did my best. I'm glad most of it was clear. I felt I had to race through the intros of the medal presenters because they had 3 each time and we had 2 languages to do it in. On top of that, Kang Young-jung is president of two pertinent organizations so both had to be mentioned and it became quite a mouthful.
