It seemed that the Chinese players at Korea open were not from national team, because it is said the Chinese national badminton team, led by general manager (head coach) LYB, just arrived at Hong Kong Airport. None of them participated the Korea open.

It (very, very) probably meant none of those arriving at HK participated at the KO. Does not mean those participating at KO are not in the national team.

remember journalists aren't too keen on badminton. In this case, the journalist wasn't incorrect saying they are from the national team. I bet it didn't say ' all members of the national badminton team arriving at the HK airport'.
