with the last GP event before the World Championships about to conclude, we have a good idea what the forms of each player are. let's see what everybody think will win the 2006 WC Women's double title....

3 choices only??? This must be a very boring event?

Some Malaysian and Thai pairs pls.

Li Yujia and partner playing? How about the Japanese pairs?

the most boring event....i really hope some players from countries other than china are able to win....maybe donna and gail? they stretched Yang/Zhang last night in HKO semis

Another highly predictable result, its gonna be a pair from CHN for sure, no need to vote.

I am a bit out of dated for WC. So, I guess Zhang Dan / Zhang Yawen is no longer participated in this one? Oh, heard the pair being splited something... Wonder why, as they were doing pretty good before then.

I go for YW/ZJ since they are clearly a better pair than any other (eve GL/HS) and I beleive they will come good when it matters again.

At least the new scoing give slightly more chance for an upset, hoping for some othe countries pairs to get to semi final.

No offense on other pairs, but I would rather bet on injuries than the scoring system to do the magic for one of the greatest upset.

can't see both chinese pairs being injured at the same time though ... and considering how often both of them reach the finals, it looks like a another default chinese gold medal ...

No chance for the Koreans? They are good, might have a chance of winning this

it's possible, but with the seedings, it's likely that to win the title, they have to beat both the top chinese pairs. beating 1 pair will be hard, beating both will be .... ummmm .... harder? :p
don't wanna say impossible and they end up doing it and making me look like a fool ....

Gao Ling/ Haung Sui is my vote. I think Gao Ling is very hardworking and clever on his play. If she could only have the energy in this Women's Doubles since she would also be playing for the Mixed Doubles, then i guess she has good chance of getting 3 Women's Double Championship.

the final MUST between Gao/Huang and Yang/Zhang....it`s unquestionable..juz see which pair will win only...for the others semifinalist pair....i choose Wong/Chin and Lee/Lee...mayb Lee/Lee can win over Yang/Zhang in a very very tough match ..i dont want to see China absolute monopoly this event again...

Based on the draw, our WD of CEH and WPT has a great chance of reaching the semis at least.

don't think that's likely, i don't think zhang/yang have lost to them all year ... in fact, they've rarely been beaten by anyone except for gao/huang.

u must trust them...chin/wong is not weak....we must give support to them so that they can do well...i don`t think they will always lose to china`s pair...this time is a golden opportunity for them to show that they are not WEAK and not always lose to china`s women doubles..

i think that cheng wen-hsing and chien yu-chin have a good chance of getting to at least the semis in wd. in wd, they defeated lee/lee in three sets and took gao/huang to three close sets. they also defeated zhang/wei in hk and i dont think that emms/kellogg are not a threat to any of the asian pairs really. wong/chin and the thai pair have also lost to chien/cheng handily so dont underestimate them!

unfortunately...their draw r not so good...they will meet Gao/Huang in quarter final....i dont think they can beat Gao/Huang...

I think the Korean pair will not show up as I recall that Lee Hyo Jung was severely injured during the KO?. Anyway I don't see their names on the draw list.

My pick will be Yang and Zhang.

Anyway I don't see their names on the draw list.See cell A69 in the draw (http://www.badmintoninternational.net/wcdraw/wd.xls). They have a bye and are slated for a 2nd round match with 13711/50884 KURIAN Shruti S/GUTTA Jwala P (IND/IND), who also have a first-round bye.

The question here is whose pairs beside China will play in not final but semi final.

If Lee Hyo Jung not fit 100%, China will rules out all SF spot.

The only other pair except Zhang/Yang and Gao/Huang to win the world champion is

Du/Yu

If Lee Hyo Jung not fit 100%, ...This has been confirmed on Badzine International here (http://www.badzine.info/content/view/15/2/). Also see the Newsflash under the heading "Injuries strike" on the homepage (http://www.badzine.info/).

When I posted #27 above on the 14th, Lee/Lee were in the draw and the KBA decision still hadn't been made public.
