View Full Version : The top 8 seeds in MD
badMania 09-02-2006, 01:19 PM These are the top seeds according to my calculation:
1. Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae
2. Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah
3. Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun
4. Chan Chong Ming/Koo Kien Keat
5. Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen
6. Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Lin Woon Fui
7. Anthony Clark/Robert Blair
8. Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto
The pairings for the top 4 could be:
Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae in the same half as Chan Chong Ming/Koo Kien Keat; Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah in the same half as Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun. I hope Luluk/Alvent or Kido/Hendra is drawn in the same half as Jung/Lee and Chan/Koo :D

too bad Tony G./Howard B. won't be defending their title...:p Having at least Tony competing will bring this event even more interesting...Hope they IBF will consider/offer that wildcard spot for Tony(and whoever his partner will be).. ;)
badMania 09-02-2006, 01:38 PM Opps...I think I made a slight mistake in the calculation. Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun should be no 1, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae no 2, and Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah no 3.

Ok, so Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae will be in the same half as Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah. R u calculating the points urself or from IBF?

This looks more realistic. :p :D
event 09-03-2006, 07:20 AM I think you're still off. Lee/Choong are way ahead in no.1 with 32336. Fu/Cai are no. 2 with 30450 and Lee/Jung are no. 3 at 30431. No other team is above 28000 points.

Err...you forget to deduct the points from their worst tournament. They already have 10 tournaments without the points from HK Open Final. So, it should be 27747+4590-1920=30417. This will make them the third seed.
Here's my list:
1. Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun 30450
2. Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae 30431
3. Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah 30417
4. Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen 29218
5. Chan Chong Ming/Koo Kien Keat 27143
6. Mohd Fairuzuzian Mohd Tazari/Lin Woon Fui 26100
7. Anthony Clark/Robert Blair 23622
8. Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto 21522
9. Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan 21477

9. Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan 21477Right. I had a funny count on my spreadsheet which was giving me the total minus the team event points so it was only showing me nine. I was also wrong about the Danes. I hadn't checked and didn't realize they were going to get points just for showing up and losing in Korea.
Dreamzz 09-03-2006, 11:54 AM bit off topic here, but since we know the top 3 seeds for MS, what do the rest of the seedings look like?
Lets don't put team Malaysia as #1 ranking, the pressure would be too much :D

Indeed, this will be the top 9 seeds at the WC according to the latest rankings from IBF.
Dreamzz 09-07-2006, 09:18 AM when you're right, you're right ... someday one of you will have to tell us how these points are calculated exactly.
