View Full Version : Higher Tension = Lighter Racquet
Is this true?...........isn't it because if you string at low tension the racquet will have more string on it because they are not stretched.........but if it is at a higher tension.........the string will be stretched out far causing leftovers.......
also......isn't BG66 lighter than Bg65 since BG66 is thinner making it have less material?.........
I just thought of this.........plz don't laugh at me.........=)
I guess thats true, but I don't think it would make that much of a difference.
Howard 06-26-2001, 06:53 PM ya i don't think so either.
shaun 06-26-2001, 07:18 PM it is true: lighter by like 0.0001 grams.
you wont notice it....might as well not bother with such things.
HEY......BUT MY THEORY IS STILL RITE..........IT IS STILL LIGHTER!!!!!!.........LOL.......=P
cooler 06-27-2001, 01:24 AM if u leave out some lines on main and cross, that would be even lighter.
if u dont apply the YY logo on the string, more weight saving can be gain.
if u wipe the dust off your racket before playing it, it would feel be even lighter :)
if u carefully sand and buff off the clear coat and the paint job, u would will feel the extra weight reduction too.

LOL........good idea......lemme go do that now.......haha
Lei Lo Sye 06-27-2001, 07:04 PM foolish. then y string rac? just string all mins and string evry othr cross!
to make even more light, take off grip and hold the wood!
Dumb idea........I'd like to see you play with a wooden handle........also the string idea is dumb too........you see Lei Lo Sye.........if you string every other main and cross the racquet will have no more control and the strings will snap quicker......
cooler 06-27-2001, 09:36 PM Lei, foolish are for those who follow your advices. My recipes DO NOT affect racket playability, your does.
Lei Lo Sye 06-27-2001, 10:30 PM zero, u didnt seem to worry for controll and pwr.
u wanted light. so less strings and no grip is light!
ur q was dumb so my ans was dumb 2
if u don't string your racquet, then it will be very very light
Lei Lo Sye 06-27-2001, 10:32 PM but if u want max light, u must do wat u sed and wat i sed 2 get very light
Lei Lo Sye 06-27-2001, 10:47 PM i agree wif greg. he is very clever
better yet, don't use your racquet when playing badminton. Use your hand to hit the bird, then it (the racquet) will be extremely light.
Lei Lo Sye 06-28-2001, 01:55 PM if u cut finger nails ur new rac will be even lightr!
modious 06-29-2001, 12:08 AM Yeah, if u dun wear anything at all, u'll feel much lighter!! :p
i think modius means overall lighter........so when you run around you can be more effiecient and quicker.....
