AChan 09-08-2006, 04:16 PM It's my first time to see this HKG MD. They played quite well.
AChan 09-08-2006, 04:30 PM I was very impressed by this Indonesia LD during HK Open 2005, they would call out for every smash.
ctjcad 09-08-2006, 06:38 PM ..AChan, thanks for sharing some of your own pictures!...they look great, esp. the latter ones as they're more sharp..if you have more, please feel free to post them and share with us..;)

yes, those are some nice pictures.:)
i m quite sure the quality of the original files are ok. from my eyes, the only problem of those earlier pics were just saved in low jpeg quality.;) um.....can't be wrong!:D
by the way, welcome to badmintoncentral forum achan!
Cheung 09-09-2006, 03:23 AM haha, so you found us. I really like the Saralee shot, the one of Fu/Cai together defending and the Zheng Bo shot.
Talking about the quality for the D70s - would RAW and then conversion to jpeg give better quality?
kemana 09-09-2006, 04:43 AM haha, thank you for the pictures AChan

I should upload those again. The quality is better and correction is easier to use RAW. I used about 24 man-hour to trim, correct white balance, reduce noise, and adjust exposure of my 1400 files. Thanks for introducing me this website. Have you browse the photos of Korea Open 2006 on the other thread? The pics are very high standard.
AChan 09-09-2006, 01:54 PM upload the pics again
Dreamzz 09-09-2006, 01:58 PM wow, the quality is so much better now, can clearly see the definition. what do you mean when you say you touched it up?
AChan 09-09-2006, 02:06 PM re-upload the pics. Can I delete the previous low quality pics?
AChan 09-09-2006, 02:12 PM wow, the quality is so much better now, can clearly see the definition. what do you mean when you say you touched it up?
conversion of file from RAW to JPG after triming, correction of white balance, reduction of noise, and adjustment of exposure.
AChan 09-09-2006, 02:24 PM more photo share with you.
AChan 09-09-2006, 02:51 PM (1) Sudket's deceptive drop shot together with his powerful smash is effective.
(3) I like the Guo Zhendong / Xu Chen pic.

u were shooting in raw? wow, u must have a 4gb card!:D
hey achan, what software were u using to handle those raw images? u had mentioned that. it took u 24 hours to get them done again. why took so long?
kemana 09-09-2006, 06:55 PM looks like sudket changed his partner?
Cheung 09-09-2006, 07:51 PM wow! these look really good! No need to delete the first pictures, they are good for comparison to show people how post processing makes a difference to the picture. I think you are the first person on BC to shoot RAW. The colours still seem less vibrant than the Canon. Is that because of the diffrent sensor they use? Must have taken a lot of time on the computer to do the post processing. Why do you have to adjust for exposure? Did you shoot manual? If so, why?
Guo Zhendong / Xu Chen pic.great capture!
u were shooting in raw? wow, u must have a 4gb card! Must have a download storage. D70s is 6MP. 2Gb in RAW can still fit quite a lot of photos - perhaps 150-200 for that camera.
Cheung 09-09-2006, 07:57 PM Luckily, you post these pics AFTER Kwun bought the D200 (and sold his D70):)
Georgina 09-09-2006, 09:30 PM looks like sudket changed his partner?
Sudket's partner is unwell.
And during HK Open,Songphon's partner came to Singapore for Cheers Asian Satellite.
His partner Nataphon had to come because he is H.R.H Princess's mixed doubles partner. That is why,Songphon+Sudket for Hk Open.
:D

Really? Is Sudket's partner call Ngensrisuk Phattapol? He actually cheered us up in his first round. Let's see below funny pics :D He played much better in 1/16.

I have 5.5gb card, included 4gb esp. brought for taking photo for this event. I used photoshop CS version. Actually, it is my first time to use RAW & Photoshop. I am now attending a photography course talked by Mr. Lung Kwan Yee, he highly recommended us to us RAW. I consumed much time in exploring the software, esp. in conversion of RAW file and correction of white balance, and took some files to consult photo lab.

Yaya!
Yes,Sudket's partner is called Patapol!!
How did he cheer you guys up?!!?
OMG!!Please tell me!!I love them!!

Did Songphon hit himself in the 1st pic?!!?
HAHAHAHA!!!
So funny!!

I agreed the color and resolution from Canon is better than Nikon. If I hadn't had so many Nikon equipment, I would have changed to use Canon. I used A mode to capture. Generally speaking, Nikon D70 is said to be about 1/3 underexposure, some people suggested to download a curve (I don't know how) to convert the histogram. Moreover, I used central weight light meter of the camera, it sometimes masked by player wearing black color tee, eg. Malaysia team in QF.
Yes, about 6MP for every RAW. All the pics occupied 7.5Gb HD. For safeguard, I uploaded to computer every night. Most painful day is the day of 1/16, they finished at 2:15am at QE, I slept at 4am after uploading all the files, and need to get up to work at 7am. :crying:

HAHA...HA... He seems so. Of course, he was the smash target of his team. China team attacked him most of the time, and he missed many shuttlecocks with grimace expression. He is tall and thin, looked like a pair of chopsticks running around.
what is OMG mean?

Smash target?!:p
I know why he was the smash target!
Try attacking Sudket and see what happens.LOL!!!
:D
A pair of chopsticks running around?!?!
WAHAHAHAHA!!!
Songphon is the tallest guy in his team!
OMG=Oh my god!!

That way you don't need so many cards! Reds got a couple of 512mB cards! (unless he's upgraded by now)
Wow, 2am...now that's a badmintonfanatic for you!
I found spot metering is not that useful. Centre weight metering is better. Manual gives more consistency except for some situations.
