Badminton season for me starts in september, when provincial tournaments start. Recently I got an email from the provincial badminton association that the doubles in all tournaments will be changed to rally point. I was a little upset due to the comments i've heard about it from our forum experts. I guess it couldn;t be too bad though?
Anyways, my point is. Any pointers or hints to succesfully playing rally point system compared to usual?

Well, I've noticed that you have to play for the point -- either team can get one due to a fault of the other. If playing badly, play a little safer, and if playing very well, be aggressive. :D

don't serve out or into the net. They earn a point for doing nothing.

That is one way of looking at it. But once you are convinced that a mistake made is a point lost, then a point won on an opponents' unforced error is well deserved. Serving out or into the net is very often due to pressure and a lack of confidence. When the receiver strikes fear into the server, isn't this part of the game?

i have played with the new scorin...... and i lost to a person that i really should beat him by miles!!! ....

if you are losing you only have a little chance of comin back..... which i think it kind of unfair ....... if you know wt i mean>>....

don't make any mistakes...play good shots not perfect shots unless you are extremely confident.

thanks for all your opinions, lots of them i will try and incorporate into my game. also, do you think the smarter decision would be to let your opponent take first serve, giving you first attack?
