The Chinese Badminton team is on the way to Madrid for the World Badminton Championships beginning on Monday. The team comprises a healthy mix of world championship novices through to veterans.

Women's doubles player Du Jin's is eager to hit the road, despite her status as a newcomer.

Du Jin, Chinese badminton team said: "I have to be the first to get on the bus!"

Rising Men's Single's Event powerhouse, Bao Chunlai, says his world-class experience will help to steel his nerves.

Bao Chunlai said: "I feel pretty light-hearted... backed up by my two previous world championships trips."

Veteran Mixed Doubles Event player Zhang Jun has participated in a total of 6 world championships.

Zhang Jun said: "The fact that I've been in so many world championships, but have won only one title... really makes me humble and want to do better."

And head coach Li Yongbo has SEVEN world championships as a coach... under his belt.

Li Yongbo said: "I am very proud of my players, and have as much faith in them as ever. With all of these world-class champions -- who wouldn't be proud and confident."

The Chinese Badminton Team is made up of 23 world champions and five Olympic champions. Chinese fans hope they will live up to their world class reputation this time around, in Madrid's World Badminton Championships. The contest will run through September 18 to 24.
