You are not offended me... ONLY I just found that your quote is prejudice. To me, I really enjoy the games, skills, enthusiasm & morale shown by the players no matter the players is from which countries. The most important is the RESULTS. Who win is win & Who lost is lost.... Excuses can't improve you in the next game BUT introspection & hard training will let you stride across in future.

:) Wow! T/C won in straight sets against the fast chinese pair cai/fu.
i'm not really surprise that they can beat the chinese pair but its the score that surprised me most! I watched the HO open between T/C and cai/fu, and they went to a rubber match. it was a close game till momentum switched to the chinese pair when the scored like 5 unanswered points in the begiining of 3rd game. I think what many overlooked about that match is that T/C are on thier 30ies. And the previous week just won the KO in straight sets against the young korean pair. So having done no tournaments before entering the JO, they still have fresh legs. i see the old pair of T/C to win in straight sets against the young malaysian pair KKK/TBH to win 2006 JO. if it goes to the rubber, the edge will be on the young malaysian pair.

so taufik's words would really come to now. he said it last May if lin dan wants to defeat him, they would have the showdown in madrid...I guess it will not be in madrid but in japan..its the chance for LD to extend his wins in their Head2head. LD leads it 4-3. for LD, 1. asian badminton championships, 2. Sudirman cup 2005, 3. Thomas cup 2006, 4. Hongkong open 2006
For Taufik hidayat...1. singapore open 2005, 2. Indonesia open 2005 and number 3. 2005 world championships.
In form wins by both players....2 for LD, 3 for TH.
....some pretty stats...:}
You have missed one. TH won against LD at Asian Games 2002 as SF Team. Have they ever met at ABC event and LD won?. I dont believe this.

Well, even before this, i find that the value of this year world championship a bit low.
If this is true, why IBF still want organised 2006 WC??? I can't understand how you determine "the value' of 2006 WC is low"? From what aspect?
2006 WC almost all the top seeds players are participated. All the champions is TRUE CHAMPIONS...
Is it just because your supported & lovely players is unable to became champions, then you determine "the value' of 2006 WC is low"?
Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany lost in 2006 FIFA World Cup, will you say "the value' of 2006 FIFA World Cup is low"?

Heh, you seem very fired up today KaSoon :). I don't believe the WC2006 were meaningless either. But I think at least TG/CW could have been able to play. Lin Dan is Wayney Rooney and Taufik is David Beckham... wayney will never be like beckham
Very good analogy. I have another one for you...Lin Dan is Salieri and Taufik Hidiyat is Amadeus Mozart. If you have ever seen Amadeus, you'll know what I mean, but in short Lin Dan will always be living in Taufik's eternal shadow. People will look back on Taufik as one of the greats, bigger than Yang Yang and Morten Frost!!

-Some nice matches and resulst but a lot of them was expected. In MS as I see it theres a top 4 with the guys from todays semi in which the finalist is superior is TH is in form. ive seen the 4 playing a lot of times and LCW and LD are the faster than the rest while PG and TH have better skills.
Even as the fastest player among the 4 LCW lacks some experience as I see it, specially in the major events, he looses a lot of points in a row and furthermore hes weak when played down in hes forehand where he has to take it behind hes body. Else LCW is a great player and I predict he will shine even more when he develop his skills, since he got the basic requirements for getting to the top which is speed and power.
What comes to Gade hes a real joy to see on court, good sportsmanship and extremely good technique and footwork. However still very fast it seems that his injury and lessened weight training after coming back has made him loose that energy and speed that made him the fastest and powerful player during 97-01. Furthermore Gade doesnt tend to smash that much which before was his strongest weapon
t Gade will remain in top 8 until the olympics but will only be counted as a dark horse for the major titles and can be a threat for LD TH when they have an offday.
TH and LD is superior atm. compared to each other they are day and light when looking at their style, only comparable thing is the big smash from backline which both wins a lot of points on. Taufik has the best net play in the world and in MS netplay is extremely important, with such a net play and a powerful smash a player can get very far. But besides that taufik got an exelent technique and can hit himself out of any critical situation. If not fit Taufik gets in trouble and that just marks my point again that if not fast and fit a player has to have some extraordinary like Taufik has just to be in top 10. LD is the opposite player, above average technique but still not comparable to Gade and Taufik, very good stamina and very good defence. Further he has a lethal weapon in his smashes and his speed. Wont use that many sentences about LD, hes just number 1 imo since Taufik is too unreliable atm.
In MD I kinda agree with the person saying in this thread that MD isnt as it used to be, whereas MS has improved the last decade MD has not and I will go that far as to say that Rexy/ ricky tony/candra Chea/kit ha/kim is better than any on world scene atm, i may be flamed for saying this but thats how i see it:cool:

i agree too except i would put tony/candra a bit higher over the other MD pair listed;) Tony/candra is just better at strategizing. Tony and howard have beaten cai/fu before at danish open. With candra, even more easier:p They can see holes in cai/fu's weakness that other can't or takes longer.

Alright!!! Indonesians are on the roll here in the Japan Open, well except for women categories.
Nova/Natsir are doing well and they show the Chinese pair that they are still the better pair. Flandy/Marissa are "new" kids on the block here. They beat WC silver medallist, Clark/Kellog and then double Olympic Gold Medallist, Zhang/Gao. A very, very impressive start for the new pair. I'm surprised they made it this far even though I know Flandy's capabilities as doubles players. Let's hope this not just a fluke and they will continue their performance till Rizal/Polii are ready to carry on the torch.
Tony/Candra are doing unbelievably well. I know they are a really strong to the point of legendary 6 years ago, but in 2006? It is just unbelievable for them to beat Cai/Fu EASILY. I won't be surprised if Tony/Candra beat Cai/Fu or vice versa, but I never thought easily, one way or another. I expected some sort of tight match. Never crossed my mind that it is going to end in just 25 minutes. Well done Tony/Candra.
Taufik again shows that he is still dangeroud SOMETIMES, not all the time. Sometimes he is just so tame like a pussycat and the other time ferocious like a lion. He really is an unpredictable player. I still hate his childish attitudes, but when it comes to talent and techniques, there is no denying that he is the best in the world nowadays. Lin Dan is very, very consistent and it won't be easy to defeat him. However, since I'm an Indonesian I will support Taufik.
Honestly, the golden generation of MD is over for Indonesia now. As so many people have noticed, Markis is the only "unpolished" diamond in the Indonesian squad today. Luluk/Alvent are pretty much done for now. Hendra is a good player, but I agree that Markis needs a stronger partner. It is very easy to see that Markis is the playmaker during a game. Markis needs other partner with capabilities like Tony, Candra or Sigit to complement him.
Tan Boon Heong is another player needs to be reckoned with now. I hate to admit this, but I get a feeling that he is going to become big, even bigger than Koo Kien Kiat. Good news for Malaysian fans, but not other countries' fans (like myself).
Can't wait to see how the finals turn out tomorrow. Good luck to all Indonesians participating! Show them who the boss is!

Good morning guys....it's 5am (yet again) in the morning at Salt Lake City. I finished all my business related stuffs yesterday but was too tired to log on at night and watch the events unfold. I ended up sleeping early at around 10pm after an exhausting day.
It's good to see that INA players have exceeded my expectation and some "dark horses" have progressed to the Final tomorrow.
First, in the men's singles, Taufik Hidayat really showed that he wanted to win this one badly after some below par performances in the World Championships. As expected, he sent Lee Chong Wei packing home in straight sets. It was a comprehensive victory for him and he will now face his nemesis, Lin Dan, in the Final. A tough match for him, but, if he can stay to this form, I expect him to beat Lin Dan in 3-sets.
In the men's doubles, I am honestly surprised to see Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya beat the current world champion Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun in such a short time. It's almost an insult to the Chinese pair and Li Yongbo will definitely be very furious! Again, it shows that Fu/Cai are NOT UNBEATABLE. However, most of the pairs go out of the court already fearful of their attacking prowess (eg: Luluk/Alvent) and played according to their rythm. Christian Hadinata was right in saying that the key to beat Fu/Cai is to play smartly with a lot of good placement and drives. Make them run all over the court and don't allow them to attack! It's Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong next for the ex Olympic champion, and I believe Tony/Candra should have an edge and they should win their third title of the year.
Lastly, in the mixed doubles, it's a joyful day for Pelatnas as Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir and Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa both progressed to the Final for an all-Indonesian Final. The victory by Nova/Butet against Xie/Zhang again show that the Chinese pair has still yet to regain top form. Xie Zhongbo has "retired" from men's doubles and he wants to concentrate on the mixed event. This pair still remains Indonesia's biggest threat to the gold medal in Doha!
As for Flandy/Vita, they have really surpassed all expectations by beating the WC silver and bronze medallist + the 2-times Olympic gold medallist en-route to the Final. However, I don't see them winning the title tomorrow as Nova/Butet will be determined to win their 5th title this year to make up for that huge disappointment in the WC last month!

You must haven't watched HKO quarter final between these two pairs. :D Tony was really having difficulty defensing Fu/Cai's smashes. However I agree that if Tony/Candra has the stamina to keep attacking for 2 sets, Fu/Cai has little chance to win.
Hahaha....did not have the chance to watch the match but anyway Tony/Candra have the overall skill to defend, attack and tricks. Badminton is not just about speed and stamina.

come on la Hitman71, be realistic with your comments, very baised indeed,
what about taufik then? win already cry? lose also cry? what do you have to comment on that then? too touched because he won? if that is the case then what is wrong with lin dan proving that he can defeat his opponents as well?
for godness sake, he doesnt need to get people's attention, you can close your eyes if you find it an eyesore when is lin dan taking off his shirt or whatsoever.
and he already has enough attention.

they obviously being baised and prejudice against lin dan, probably because of the actions he did during malaysia open.
you people just dont accept that lin dan is the best and most consistent player among all, am i right?

Ok Jermaine, I understand about the attention thing, sorry ...
But I look at it this way, TH doesnt need his coach to upset his opponent, enough said.
About what he did at Msia open, well it is expected from the Chinese player. They came with good skills and all they care is winning, but they lack in sportmanship and respect for others.... (Even people like Micheal Schumacher has better respect ... ;) ) (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGkjAMLzFFHT0BsUZXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE3c2h2amM zBGNvbG8DdwRsA1dTMQRwb3MDNARzZWMDc3IEdnRpZANGODI1X zE0Ng--/SIG=11rvo8a9v/EXP=1160937612/**http%3a//www.mschumacher.com/welcome.html)
I see this in their Table Tennis team and in their badminton team.. and FYI each time Lin Dan running around doing things, I won't close my eyes bcoz I thinks its funny ...
Today LYB will learn to speak Indonesia .. " Kasi patah kaki Thau Phek" (Break Taufik leg") ... :D :D

Nope, you are wrong. We accept that Lin Dan is currently the best and the most consistent player.
For me personally, i have nothing against him. I am not angry when he bet LCW.
Just that i don't like his attitude. I think there is a reason why some of the top players nowadays don't like him. Heard that Taufik never respects him because he doesn't like what lin Dan does on the court, especially towards Peter Gade. Taufik may be naughty, but he respects his opponents well.
You can say that i am biased but i think you can ask some of the badminton fans who watched live in Japan yesterday about what happened during the match between Lin Dan and Peter Gade yesterday. I am shocked with what he did.
And for your information, those are not from Malaysia and you can't say that they are biased.
Anyway, don't dwell on this matter anymore and enjoy the final tomorrow. Badminton is a beautiful sport.

Show them who the boss is!
i m very excited to see KKK/TBH versus CW/TG in the final.donno what kind of advise rexy give to malaysian pair tomorrow.for me,if KKK/TBH can play smartly, they have chance to win.CW/TG got a lot of experiences between them.my prediction,if that game going to rubber set,KKK/TBH can win the game.but sadly, after this JO,KKK will partner CCM back for CO and asian games.

Hey Malaysiafan, thx for yr pm. Well, im not really suprised wat LD did to PG. This is not be the 1st time he has shown disrespect to his opponents esp PG (which i dont know why ). That is why Taufik nvr respects LD even he is one of the best player in the world already. Taufik hv high respect and good friendship towards LCW and PG, but solely not LD.
Now only LD, now even BCL does those nonsese too, eg. refuse changing of shuttles, complain to the umpire of yr opponent.... i wonder LYB might hv sth to do with it.....

Malaysianfan, from the above two sentences, I probably can see you are tyrannical and have biased to someone especially to Lin Dan.
Why people are not from Malaysia can't say some of the Malaysia fans are biased?
You said, Lin Dan attitude can't get the respect from you and Taufik, can I ask you, what is his "bad attitude"? Is just because of he throw his racquet during last Malaysia Open? If yes, how about LCW throw his racquet during recently WC quarter final?
Did Taufik really get respect from many people? Don't you know a lot of Indonesian dislike Taufik's attitude??? Because of he wons Asia Game, Olympic & WC champions, he fight with PISB, he scuffled with the audience, he fight with someone at the car park during 2004 Thomas Cup in Jakarta...
Talk about attitude? Do you think Malaysia badminton players attitude is good? Look at Hafiz & Koo Kien Kiat 's attitude.... Attitude is not only judge by the expression after you win or lost a game BUT is from many aspect including manner, bearing, vies, approach & discipline... If you really talk Malaysia good attitude players, so far what I can see is WCH & LCW.
You said badminton is a beautiful game BUT what I read from your quote, I don't think you really know what is BADMINTON!!!

give me a break, what do u call taufik walking out an ongoing match against LD, respect his opponents? respects the paying audience??? So what LD does on court is bad, what taufik does on court is perfume sweet?
Even at Japan open, 3rd set when taufik was losing bad, in one lost rally, he didnt even pass or push the shuttle back to lin dan after taufik hit the net. Were u too busy scrutizing LD's court behavior and overlook taufik's? How about the after match congrats to LD, more respect to his opponent too?

I agree with you that blind support of ALL of Taufik's actions is ridiculous. But then on the other hand we've got people like you who seem to do nothing but insult Taufik and his supporters. Now I would think it's quite obvious that some of your remarks are what bring on these retaliatory (is that a word? :p) posts from the Taufik fans. You're being just as bad as them. Please lay off it a bit Sickgal we don't need you making posts which seem to have no point other than to provoke the Taufik fans. I think we've all got your point by now.
Edit: Sorry if I sound angry, I'm not really :), just trying to make a point is all.

yeah, she's picking up everybody's comments but people tends to have a comment and opinion of their own
A comment from sickgal saying that malaysian fans have prejudice against Lin Dan just because that he wins most of the times is ridiculous, I'm here to tell you that it isn't right. Besides, everyone likes and dislikes something, give it a break n stop asking why everybody dislike something
anyway, peace, yay :D
Lin Dan is unbeatable now but will it does anything good to the sport? Like a recent comment about Michael Schumacher ruining the sport because he wins too much
