Is there any way to check if your serial # is authentic?

I took in consideration from other threads, such as the '0' for the last 'Armortec 800' contained half red and half gold, and my racket did have that.

But I'm still not really sure, since I got this racket for $90

Here are some more pictures (Sorry is quality is bad):

one way to tell is to hold your racquet by the head and the grip and twist it in opposite directions, if the grip twists, it's fake because it does not have an built in t-joint, also you can remove the grip and if there's a barcode under it then it's genuine

EDIT: also to clarify, the serial number is fake if it is printed on the racquet, so run your fingers over the shaft and cone, and if you can feel the serial number, it's real, and if not its fake. From the pictures, the serial number on the shaft looks way to fat to be engraved.

I can feel both the serial numbers, it seems that it has been engraved. I can't really feel any movement of the racket twisting, or maybe I am doing it the wrong way.

Are there any other ways to find out? I don't want to remove the grip, since i COULD return it, only if it is undamaged in everyway.

that's a good sign that ther serial numbers are engraved, if it real then you got a very good deal for a JP racquet. I guess you'd need to wait until someone who works with yonex comes and verify your serial number, go post it in the serial number stickie.

The two stripes on the shaft doesn't look right. The two white stripes should run down the near the end shaft, not stop before the serial number.

Here is a picture of ibuysport.com(which I believe is an authorize yonex dealer)http://ibuysports.com/images/AT800_OF_Handle.jpg

with closer inspection of the head the paintjob near the 9 - 11 position looks unlike the paintjob of an authentic at800, also check the grommets on your racquet, they should look like

    also use comparison of this

no more pics needed. All indications point to a fake.

I bought an NS8000 from same seller (tommysonlinestore) on ebay, and I had to return it because I found out that it was a fake  (no red dots on the grip, and the "O" looks fishy). Very close to a real one though. Even the serial numbers look real.

Well, he doesn't mention that his rackets are real on Ebay, so can't expect that it's a genuine Yonex. Good thing he has a refund policy (minus shipping of course).

Wow Zasboy well spotted :D But the '0' is already a dead giveaway - there is a pic of a fake AT800 on the yonex.com website showing a similar fake '0'

As for engraved serial numbers, most good fakes already have engraved serial numbers, the next frontier is whether they can successfully reproduce the 2 yonex holograms (the fake holograms posted here still have obvious errors but i'm sure the counterfeiters will learn from their mistake)

The current bid price of yet another AT800 at Tommysonline store at Ebay is US$9.99. How come you paid US$90??? You actually put in a bid of US$90 for it???

Well, it was actually $75 + $15 Shipping...and it was at the LAST second, where EVERYONE was in a frenzy and wanted to buy it.

Does tommysonlinestore really refund it? I'm worried that he might claim I returned a fake one, even though he knows it was fake from when he sent it. I just hope he isn't a scammer ><'
