The third set was a real mismatch as the INA pair was in total control and only allowed the MAS pair 1 pt after the interval!
The INA pair has progressed to the semi-final after 2 consecutive victories. The rematch against Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun will decide the winner of the group.

To me, the 2* Bitburger Open is more important as far as this week is concerned. That's where all the actions are, albeit, involving mostly European second-rate players.
In addition, we can see how the backup players like Tommy, Hendra A.G/Joko, Rani/Endang, Devin/Yunita are performing. I will be more delighted if these players/pairs can win their event!
The so called "World Cup" is just an exhibition tournament with no ranking points at stake. This was confirmed by Punch Gunalan. He said that the Invitational World Cup is merely for commercial purpose
Here's the quote from sports.sina.com.cn (with the bolded phrase translated above):

Some double pair has known clearly to beat Novita/Polii. They give high lob to INA double player. Novita/Polii played in super defence without attacking play, both players are short & small.
I saw some matches betweem WPT/CEH against Novita/Polii. WPT is better compare to the others. I guess is WPT paired with same level with her, they will be dangerous pair. Same problems with INA pair, MAS also difficult to have 2 good women double player in same time. Better chance is WPT played in MX paired with player who focused in mixed.

Not going to happen, BAM doesn't see it fit to expend energy and resources into MX. Not even after the unexpected bronze in the last World Championships. If they need MX, like in Sudirman Cup, just pair up those men and women available for a quick fix.
BAM's focus remains on maintaining men's standards and improving the women's team. Somehow I think MX is still "taboo" in Malaysia :D

Chew Choon Eng has left BAM and is now paired with Hong Chieng Hun by the club (KLRC?). We can see how Wong Pei Tty can play well in the mixed. Depend on the draw later. But I quess it will take lots of effort to win a bronze for Indonesia WD in Asian games. Gold and silver will go to Chinese pair. The bronze probably will go to Taiwan pair. After them Malaysia girls had hope to win the bronze. After that Indonesia, Thailand and Japanese pairs.

And if Lee Hyo Jung healthy again before Asian games, there will be no need to fought for the bronze for other Asian pairs cause the Korean pairs Lee/Lee at least will win bronze or better.

@sickgal, Julia Wong lost.
@peter_ned. If 3 singles had a record 1 WIN 1 LOST in a group standings, usually first they will compare who win in straight sets or rubber sets. The person who win in straight sets will move to next round.
If all two or three win in staright sets, it will be looked upon their amount scores/points from all matches that already been played. Who had the highest scores will move to next round.
I hope I am not wrong. :D

Here is the correct awnser by BWF laws.
16.1 Ranking will be established by the number of matches won.
16.2 If two players/pairs have won the same number of matches, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
16.3 If three or more players/pairs have won the same number of matches, ranking will be established by the difference between total games won and total games lost, with greater difference ranked higher.
16.3.1 If this still leaves two players/pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
16.4 If three or more players/pairs have won the same number of matches and are equal in the difference between total games won and total games lost, ranking will be established by the difference between total points won and total points lost, with greater difference ranked higher.
16.4.1 If this still leaves two players/pairs equal, the winner of the match between them will be ranked higher.
16.4.2 If three or more players/pairs are still equal, then ranking will be established by drawing lots.

MT/ LWF look to have a better chance to qualify for AG after the unexpected victory over more experienced Indo pair.

If its just a invitation tourny than should it called as "World Cup" its so confusing ......What!! a World Cup winner is not a world Champion????....
and Why should all this happened........I'm so sad for Badminton Sport....please change the name to somethings else.....  In Soccer, Italy won the World Cup.... They are World Champion.......but not in Badminton......          What IBF is doing.......:crying: :crying: :crying:
In skiing, the circuit where they race week in and week out is called the World Cup. Every couple of years (I think), they hold a World Championship. Confused?? Don't feel bad for the IBF (or whatever they're called now), other sports are using the World Cup/World Championship combo too.
