View Full Version : AR110 and AR110SP shaoshao 10-31-2000, 07:55 PM does any one know about the diffurence between AR110 and AR110SP? does AR110 have 3U? kwun 11-01-2000, 02:57 AM AFAIK, they are the same thing. the SP stands for Singapore, which is the SE Asia distribution point of Yonex. CK 11-02-2000, 06:04 AM Really, I did not know that SP means Singapore distribution? Since we also have lots of SP models in England as well, I presume they are not from the Singapore market!!? As far as I know from one of the major YY distributors in HongKong, they say the AR110SP is a slightly improved version of the origional 110 racket which the shaft breaks very easily. But the problem of the 110 racket is its 'aerodynamic' frame which will snap if you string the racket over 22lb. A hidden manufacturing fault even though the racket is excellent to play with. shaoshao 11-02-2000, 06:11 PM do you mean that ar110sp =ar110special? you said that ar110 is easy to snap when it has a high lbs. does this problem with all aerotus system or just with the ar110? some one says that in North America, yonex racket has 1 year guarantee, but in southeast Asia, it has not. how about in England? I think that yonex mark "sp" on the racket to distinguish where they come. the one marks "sp" has low lever quality. if they have "sp", it is from SE Asia and have no guarantee, if it has no "sp", they give guarantee. is that right? but you say there are lots of "sp" model in England, i don't know why ? AFAIK, both revisions are AR110SP if you get them from HK. i have the new one, it buckled on high tension also (24lbs). it now hangs on the wall in my living, entertaining my guests with its completely crooked frame. i am not sure why there are so many SP models in UK. were they brought in by the players? knowing the prices in the UK, i wouldn't imagine anyone would buy a racket there. kwun 11-03-2000, 12:53 AM i have an AR77, which also cracked. not sure if it was the high tension (24lb) or just general wear. it cracked at the bottom of the frame, and was not due to clash or anything like that. it just went crooked in the middle of a game! CK 11-03-2000, 10:11 AM Well, sorry, I really don't know the true meaning of SP in the rackets, but they do have different livery (colours) spraying though. As far as I know, UK rackets have serial no. starting with UKxxxxx and HongKong rackets has a nice Yonex holosticker on the grip. But they do have some SP models here selling in UK as well for your reference, maybe grey imports, I really don't know. For the Aerotus series, due to the aerodynamic design, the frame is 'thinner' than the others. I have seen at least four 110's cracked in front of my eyes, including my own..... it was right after I re-strung it. But lots of my friends from Indonesia, Malay and Singapore all like to use this racket for singles. shaoshao 11-05-2000, 06:49 PM 1\does the racket of UK***** have the "sp" on its staff? 2\what is the SR.number of the "sp" model in UK? |
