yup, agree that nova is the weak link.
I remember during the highlights show of WC for malaysia, Rexy ate breakfast with Nova and he was very worried that KKK didn't play MD and Rexy told KKK and WPT about the mental thingy that Nova had and in the end, you all knew what happened.

?!?!...hehe, nope, mine also uses fixed-line service...and it only costs abt $50/mo.(Adelphia) and it's on a cable bandwidth..You can even use a regular DSL connection(slightly slower than cable) and still get a smooth transmission..and it costs abt $30-$40/mo....hehe;):p :D
I think we take it for granteed in N. America that internet connections should be high speed and relatively affordable. I guess that's what the market demands and hence what ISPs have to deliver in order to stay in business. I still do remember, though, when I had to watch how much time I spent on the internet because cost was based on time. Aaaah... those days:D

Good stuff from Nova/Butet. This means China will win only 3 of the 5 finals. I wonder how this will affect their mental state going into the Asian Games. Bear in mind the limited number of entries per country for the individual events.

..i think the U.S. had the resources to expand, even at that time...add that to its economic position and you can see why....it's different in Indonesia, you know what i mean... ;)

WS and WD is guaranteed CHN dominated event in Asian Games. MS is also very much CHN's for the taking. XD is helped by the fact of limited participants per country. MD is probably the only chance other countries can fight for.

..one thing i noticed, more of an advantage to the INA pair, is Kido's height...I mean, it is a positive advantage, literally playing at that net level, and add that with a pretty good center of gravity....he can literally return all incoming shots with his forehand if he wanted to..and even if he needs to return the shot with his backhand form, he can do so with ease and not much bending..it's a different case with the taller Hendra though..Also, i think Kido plays more consistent(less errors) than Hendra..;)

...man, it was almost like a practice session..:p ..But 1 comment though : that Kido guy really is a hopping-popping-smashing machine.. ;) :p :D  ..esp. when playing at the back, being "hidden" by his taller teammate...And even his smashes are steep as well and he's able to maintain it thruout the match....
1 more comment : I hope both Markis/Hendra don't have the same mindset/attitude like Alven/Luluk had 2 yrs back and hope they can keep working hard and train even harder...IMO, they still have ways to go, but their future is bright and if they put their minds and stay committed, who knows how far they can go as a pair..;) :)

Fairuz/Woon Fui is a good pair. They have excellent defense. I think they will go even further than Koo/Chan partnership. Especially Woon Fui, that guy is very agile. Jumping and diving all over the place to retrieve the bird.
Kido/Setiawan have done well this year. Their performance keeps improving. Hope they can maintain it for the future. They are not in Candra, Tony, Sigit, Ricky or Rexy's level yet, but they are on the right track. They are on the right track.
Hopefully now the PBSI will buy them new jerseys :D.

I didn't watch the matches because of work committment, but, congrats to Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir and Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan on their victories today.
As long as Nova is not making too many mistakes, this pair should be the favorite for gold medal in Doha.
For Kido/Hendra, I hope they maintain their consistency and perform their best in Doha. They should be in contention for the medals.

10-28-2006, 09:09 AM
Chen Yu is a very solid player but somehow is never given the opportunity to play important rule for Team China, my guess is he's just not the fovaurite of coach Li. Don't be surprise if Chen Yu beat Lin Dan as Lin Dan usually doesn't play that well against his own team mate.
Chen Yu is good, but probably his situation is like Zhang Ning in WS. Too many competition.
Chen Yu is the same generation as Chen Hong. But at that time China had Sun Jun, Dong Jiong, Chen Hong and then CY. After SJ and DJ retired, suddenly come the talented Xia Xuan Ze and a suprise Olympic gold medal Jie Xin Peng. After JXP retired early, suddenly come Lin Dan and Bao Chunlai. And then Chen Jin.
Chen Yu probably improved with time and experience and very suited for 21 scoring. But if he wanted to be LYB first choice, he had started to win against non China players.
Although he won against LCW twice, but he still lost to Taufik, Peter Gade and Boonsak this year.
If only he played at other country than China, he will probably be the first choice and not the fifth choice. :(
Can he patient enough as Zhang Ning to wait his chance to shine? Remember that ZN play China national team since she was 16 or 17 and had to wait about 10 years to be LYB first choice.
