MEN'S SINGLES
Ronald Susilo vs Kendrick Lee Yen Hui -- an all-Singaporean final for once...and I am betting on Ronald to clinch his first title since the 5* Japan Open 2004.
MEN'S DOUBLES
Michael Logosz/Robert Mateusiak vs Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi (MATCH OF THE DAY) -- probably the last match of the finals since Robert Mateusiak is also involved in the XD final. Hendra/Joko need to win this one to prove that they are ready to step up a level!
WOMEN'S SINGLES
Xu Huaiwen vs Maria Kristin Yulianti -- Maria has done well in the past few days, with two notable scalps: over Pi Hongyan and Petra Overzier (bronze-medallist at the WC this year). It will be a perfect week if she can beat the German tomorrow. However, I still think that Xu is superior!
WOMEN'S DOUBLES
Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nur Sugianti vs Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia -- a perfect chance for Rani/Endang to win their first title also. They stand a good chance since Li Yujia is likely to be exhausted after playing in the XD final.
MIXED DOUBLES
Robert Mateusiak/Nadiezda Kostiuczyk vs Hendri Kurniawan Saputra/Li Yujia -- the first match of the final...and I hope it goes to 3 sets :D The Singapore pair has the edge and I hope they win!

Good to hear only one pair of pelatnas failed to reach the final. Devin/Tetty is still a young pair. They will improve if they continue to work hard. Maria Kristin is a big surprise here. Seems like she is better than the other two. The other two WS of Indonesia seems to have reached the ceiling. Let's hope tomorrow is a start of good career for Maria.

In fact, Hongyan is ill, she's suffering from a big fever .. =/
she still don't know if she will be able to defend her title in denmark ...
we'll know it in few days

..for those interested in watching the matches via live webcast, the Finals will start at 12 pm GER local time:
http://www.bitburger-open.de/en/index2.html
**For those in the U.S. or Alaska region and would like to watch, the time difference between GER and U.S. Pacific time is 9 hrs(or just add 3 hrs ahead). Which means it'll be 3 am PDT(U.S.)
However it will be broadcasted @ 2 am PDT/MST because tonight @ 2 am, we will move the time back by 1 hr(daylight saving time). So set your clock and alarm(if you're planning to get some sleep first)..;):)

hmmm, looks like the INA squad was a no-show in the Finals.. .and this thread also, not many following..:p:).
As for the matches themselves, I don't know how many sets they went to, but the young INA players, esp. the MD pair of Joko/Hendra, still has some work to do, not up to par yet...

I'm glad that RS finally win something after a slow recovery to fitness since he ruptured his Achilles tendon last year. Granted this is only a 2* event and no big names particpated, a win is still a win. This would boost his confidence ahead of the Asia Game at Doha.
Although seriously I donot habour any hope that he could get into even Semi Final when the top MS players in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea are eager to land the last major title for the year, I do hope that he could get into the QF and caused some upsets along the way. Anything further than a QF berth at Doha would a real bonus for Singapore badminton.

Hmm, looks like PBSI still had to count on Hendra/Markis and Lily/Nova to winning titles.
Even in the events with lots of top players didn't play they cannot win a title. Specially in MD,WD and Mix. Where England and Denmark pairs didn't send their best pairs.

..i believe she is STAPUSAITYTE, Akvile from Lithuania (noticed the 'ST' letters (on top) and 'L' (at bottom) on the back of her jersey, those are clues)... ;)
Or you can look here at their WS Main draw :

I beg to differ! There are many positive results I see in Bitburger.
There are several established doubles pairs in all the three events u mention. I personally didn't expect the INA players to win the titles at Bitburger. It is a positive surprise to have 3 finalists!
MS: Tommy Sugiarto is drawn against Sairul as early as in the second round. I didn't expect he will beat the top seed, which he eventually did! Remember that he had to play 6 sets on Wednesday....and that was why I think he lost to Holvy De Pauw.
WS: A finalist in this event is considered a miracle, esp since Maria Kristin has beaten both Pi Hongyan and Petra Overzier (both considered Europe's top singles) en route to the final. It was expected that Maria is to be beaten by Xu Huaiwen.
MD: Michael Logosz/Robert Mateusiak is one of the better European doubles pair. They have beaten Sigit/Trikus in the Athens Olympics. Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi still lacks match experience against the top pair, so, I am not surprised they lost as well. Nevertheless, they had very good victories over Hendri/Hendra and Boe/Fischer-Nielsen over the week.
WD: Before the tournament, I have already half expected Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia to win the title here. It was already a surprise that Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nur Sugianti can beat the top seed in three hard-fought sets.
XD: Similarly, Devin Lahardi/Yunita Tetty are not expected to win here because it's only their 3rd tournament as a pair. I am satisfied that they can reach the semi-final, beating one of the seeds en-route.
