Chong Wei, who will be leading the country's charge in the Doha Asian Games next month, was admitted for observation at the Sunway Medical Centre with a mild concussion. He needed six stitches to close a gash at the back of his head.
The accident happened when a car on the fast lane lost control and hit Chong Wei's vehicle.
Badminton Association of Malaysia secretary Gangga Rao confirmed the incident when contacted. “From the preliminary report, the injury is not serious. Chong Wei may be out of training for a few days. We hope to find out more after the medical report is out,” Gangga said.
