Maria Kristin Yulianti has again played well after beating the 5/8 seed Anna Rice in rubber sets 21-16, 18-21, 21-12. She has now reached quarter-final and final in the 3 week European tour.

She has a good chance of reaching the semi-finals, facing Elena Nozdran or Li Wenyan in the quarter-final tomorrow.

Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nur Sugianti also survived a late fightback after beating Joanne Nicholas/Natalie Munt in rubber sets 15-21, 21-19, 22-20. The last 2 sets were very very close! Rani/Endang were leading 20-16 before the Englih pair levelled it at 20-20. Luckily, they sealed the last 2 points.

They are up against Fiona McKee/Charmaine Reid in the next round to be played later.

Tan Bin Shen/Ong Soon Hock have beaten Flandy Limpele/Devin Lahardi in 3 sets.

Not too bad..since both INA players are not focussed in MD. They should focus more on their XD events.

Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi are now playing against David Lindley/Chris Langridge. It will be a tough tie for the INA pair as this English pair has troubled Luluk/Alvent as well as Fairuz/Lin recently. They are definitely a tough nut to crack!

Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi have taken the first set 21-19. It was a very close affair, with only no more than 3 points separating both pairs from the start.

nana lost again.....

I pretty much expected her to lose anyway. She definitely lacks the mentality to make it to the top! She was leading 18-13 and then 20-19 in the second set, only to lose to the more experienced Huang Chia-Chi eventually! I think Maria Kristin Yulianti is currently better than Nana and I really fear for the women team's progress in the Asian Games.

nana lost again.....

WS INA curse happened again

Now I'm sure 100 % that Hendrawan's prove was wrong, too much excusement about her lost.
In local forum some people talked about WS squad in Asian Games, they against it. Tomorrow some media will talk it.

agree, Maria def. Huang Chia Chi last week in Denmark Open.

The records are another solid proof!
Maria entered the final and quarter-final (at least) in 2 out of the tournaments so far. She has lost to Xu Huaiwen and Jiang Yanjiao, both arguably more superior than her.

As for Nana, she lost to Huang Chia-Chi and Guo Xin. So, Hendrawan can't say that Nana has a bad draw

Even Firda is probably better.

Hendra A. Gunawan/Endang Nur Sugianti have lost to Svetoslav Stoyanov/Elodie Eymard 19-21, 12-21. Again, it's probably better they lose this one, rather than losing their main events (MD and WD). It's going to be a long and tiring day for both players, with one more match coming up in the next few hours

Both Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa and Devin Lahardi/Yunita Tetty have won their matches and progressed to the quarter-final.

Yunita Tetty is playing again after she just finished her match in WD barely an hour ago  Very very bad scheduling! They should arrange the WD match 2-3 hrs later! Rani Mundiasti is playing again (her 3rd match today) almost 3 hrs after she finished her XD match.

I think Vita/Yunita are going to give up the match. Both have been very exhausted today! They should reserve their energy for the more important XD matches!

Rian Sukmawan/Eng Hian have also progressed to the quarter-final after an easy victory in the second round. Meanwhile, Adriyanti Firdasari has done well in beating Anu Nieminen in rubber-sets 21-10, 13-21, 21-17. She should have a chance against Petra Overzier tomorrow.

Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nur Sugianti have cruised to the QF too as they totally crushed the Canadian pair in 2 short sets. 1 more match to come, between Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi and Mihail Popov/Svetoslav Stoyanov.

Hendra A. Gunawan/Joko Riyadi rounded off Team Indonesia's good day by beating the 3/4 seed Mihail Popov/Svetoslav Stoyanov in straight sets 21-14, 21-16. Their quarter-final opponent will be the Russian pair Vitalij Durkin/Alexandr Nikolaenko. The INA pair has a pretty good chance of reaching another final (and perhaps winning the tournament), esp after Fairuz/Lin and Clark/Blair have withdrawn.

In the other half of the draw, Rian Sukmawan/Eng Hian will have a tough tie against Rasmus Andersen/Peter Steffensen. The winner is likely to meet Tan Bin Shen/Ong Soon Hock in the semi-final.
