CCC Shuttles Policy
Members@CCC have to remember this: Our club's charges are dependent on our club's expenses.
If we spend more on the use of shuttles, the cost will be passed on to the our members.
So, at the end of your game, if the shuttle is still good, place that good shuttle under the net, in the middle of the court.
The next lot of players should warm up with older shuttles from the tray.
When they are ready to start their game, they should then use that good shuttle that is placed under the net, in the middle of the court.

Hope to see you there. :):):)

Discussions @Supper:
*hkhung was told not to be too stressed when captaining our Friendly Match against Marissa's Group. ;)
*smashed_1 agreed to be captaining our Friendly Match against JT Ultra. :)
*We laughed at DoublesPlease, who earlier in the day, asked Fuji to attend CCC at an earlier time so that they could do a good warm-up before our Friendly Match against Wesley. NOT READING OUR CCC THREAD !!! :o
*Fuji again brought an excellent bottle of red wine for supper.
*yschin, who also brought an excellent bottle (of tawny port), said he will be returning home to Malaysia on 12-Dec-2006.
*BadFever suggested we could have our CCC End-of-Year Celebration in a restaurant or have a BBQ.
*BK-T said an End-of-Year Celebration in a restaurant gives us the least hassles.
*Haifeng is still inviting us to his hometown, Beijing, for the 2008 Olympics. ;)
*chris@ccc said that we could organise to charter a plane to take us to Malaysia to watch the Badminton World Championships 2007, if there are enough people interested to go. :p
Please be reminded that next Friday 1-Dec-2006, our Summer Season $20 Membership Fee is due. And our Session Fee is changed to $7 for Members & $10 for Visitors.

Hi hkhung,
From reading Post#2 of this thread, ie the report on Friday, 24-Nov-2006 (Session#32), we noticed that there are some changes from the report on Session#30, Friday, 10-Nov-2006.
Yes, we were looking at the Session#30 report some 2 weeks ago, when we first wanted to select players. But now, from the Session#32 report, you can also include Peter-L.
Please refer to the report in Post#2 again, as quoted here.
And from it, only 5 players are to miss selection, namely;
1. chris@ccc
2. Andrew-N
3. Jason-F
4. Jason-K
5. Kevin-C
Now, you have a bigger list of players to select from. :):):)

But now, from the Session#32 report, you can also include Peter-L.
I will ask Peter tonite.
But honestly from the no of times playing with Marissa, i get the feeling that Peter is just too strong for them. Still with Helmut to be confirmed tonite (wednesday), i should have 4 already.
Let's hope Laurie+Lisa show up this friday!

Greetings,
smashed_1 emailed me that our Friendly Match against JT Ultra could be on Friday 15-Dec-2006, @CCC homeground.
More details will be released later.
Cheers... chris@ccc
Hi Folks,
We have managed to network with JT Ultra group for a friendly match with CCC, with the following details:
When: Friday 15th December 2006
Time: 7.30pm
Where: CCC homeground, Glen Waverley
No. of players: 8 (4 pairs)
Scoring: JT's players are not real familiar with the new scoring, so we will use traditional scoring.
Due to the time of year etc, JT Ultra have confirmed they can bring 3 x B grade players, and 5 x C grade players :( . If CCC can form 8 players we can have 4 pairs each with the play schedule of:
(C#=CCC Team No.), (J#=JT Ultra team No.)
Round 1: C1 v J1, C2 v J2, C3 v J3, C4 v J4
Round 2: C2 v J1, C1 v J2, C4 v J3, C3 v J4
Round 3: C3 v J1, C4 v J2, C1 v J3, C2 v J4
Round 4: C4 v J1, C3 v J2, C2 v J3, C1 v J4
So by the sound of it, the player picking will be similar to hkhung's-Marissa's list - omitting CCC's strongest few.
To ensure we have adequate numbers for the 15th, anyone interested please acknowledge in the next week if that date is suitable. We will confirm players and publlicise play schedule in the week prior to the date.
We will have a post match supper where JT Ultra's group is welcome.
cyas soon.
:)

To All CCC member:
It seems that we are close to having a team for friday's match against Marissa.
So far we got Yin Sheng, Kee, Helmut, me, Peter and Andrew Wong.
I guess Peter and Kee would be together then cos they been playing together for a while.
Calling Laurie+Lisa, are you free on friday?

Dear smashed_1:
You should have no problem selecting B grade since you have 5 (-8) to choose from and you only select 3.
But then if you really want to get really techincal to select C grade, you only have the following to choose from
6. -6 Andrew-W
7. -6 Kee-F
8. -6 Peter-L
9. -4 Yih Sheng-C
10. -2 Laurie-C
11. 0 David-Z
And David is only ever available on the last week of the month. Which means all 5 of your choices must show up.
I am interested, but you see i am not C grade. Anyway, will talk more on friday.
Oh, glad that you are posting.

But you might have to take some more pics... because those 2 pics are just too dark for us to see. :)

For the 16th, we're going away.. though don't ask me where coz it's supposedly my bday surprise... (nb: if anyone can find out for me before the date, and let me know i'd be eternally grateful! the suspense is killing me!! :crying:)

You are not going to miss this one. We are on a budget and going to have:-
- Dragon's Balls in curry sauce ( bulls testicles)
- Emperor's behind (deep fried chicken's back - I tried that in M'sia - it is good)
- Pig's brain soup
- Barbe caterpillar
etc etc.
Hi Yschin
I would love not to miss these special named dishes. But, too rush for me la.
The Dragon BAlls is a nice one. I tried many times, when I was working in
Taiwan. But not in curry style. BTW, do u have PUPPIES at home or in ur
next doors ? An extra dish stew " ANJING " in Hakka style would be fantastic.
This dish not only delicious as food. It`s smell even has the effect to scare
neighbours` dogs not to come to **** on ur land. My neighbours dogs never
dare come closer to my home. Give a go, if u are in doubt.
No need to travel to Genting. Guess what ? I already won a free trip worth
$1000. Last week the CCC " CROWN CLASSIC COMPETITION " organizer
invited me to the CCC " CROWN CASION CHRISTMAS " dinner party in Brisbane. Among the 100 guests. 3 were rewarded with $500 game chip voucher. And 2 with $1000 voucher. I am one of the 2 rewarded with the $1000 game chip voucher. Very unfortunate, this voucher is not transferable. Otherwise u guys could have a big " Makan " & Chris could have a few
tripple Cognac XO Special in the CCC " Crown Casion Complex "
To redeem the game chip voucher. I have to present in person in
" The Place To Be " by the end of March next year. The CCC Senior
Executives are jokers & crazy. They far over estimate my level.
To rate me, Yeh Sheng is the MAN.
Now the question is going or not going to these CCCs. Not going, the loss
is $1000 in game chips. But the biggest LOSS would be no Free Badminton
at the other CCC. Need Chris to advise though. Thanks.
cheers

Dear yschin:
- Dragon's Balls in curry sauce ( bulls testicles)
How big are the dragon balls, would they fit in my mouth?
- Emperor's behind (deep fried chicken's back - I tried that in M'sia - it is good)
How smelly are the behinds? Actually some people like this part of the chicken a lot, u know.
- Pig's brain soup
what about monkey's brain?
- Barbe caterpillar
To All CCC member:
I met Jacky Chen@JTUltra last nite at DTBA. He told me that he did not see my name on the list given to him by Chris. And he also told me that he already given his own team list to Chris.
All in all, i told him i won't be there so i wish him good luck.

To Andrew Wong, Laurie, Chris and all people who want to play at doncaster:
Did any of u go to the christmas party they had last sat day?
Anyway, I went DTBA last nite and there was a notice about membership renewal. The organiser said after 17/12 you must pay membership renewal before you play in another social session.
Before it was like february was membership renewal but as i found out from Michael (yeah, he finally joined as member), they move the date forward. Just bring more money next time then.
Oh, i also met Raymond last nite (please read the sunday CATS post). I play against him. He improved a lot!

Dear yschin:
To Captain Smashed_1:
Do we have our team list for JTUltra's match or have i been reading the bottom of the page again and missing everything?
Hey HK & all.
The players selected to be involved in the friendly match with JT group are:
- Andrew-N
- Jason-F
- Jason-K
- Kevin-C
- Andrew-W
- Kee-F
- Peter-L
- Laurie-C
- res: Chris
hopefully all are OK for that night, as these are 7 of the 8 that are coming from JT:
- Jacky
- Shu
- Sam
- Yang
- Tavis
- Eric
- Quinland
On the above numbers we will have 4 pairs from each club, giving us a round robin format of 4 rounds totalling 16 games to play. Also will be using traditional scoring as some of the JT group aren't too familiar with the new scoring.

To CCC member and captain smashed_1:
It's good that your team is all confirmed and that. Since JTUltra is bring 8 players "for sure", the event should make it easy to be organised.
Mind u, when Jacky Chen was talking to me on Doncaster tuesday nite about the upcoming interclub between JTUltra/CCC, he didn't smile very much so maybe he's stressed. Then again, smashed_1, maybe he only smile to pretty ladies!
Oh, Jacky Chen also mentioned he want the top players from CCC though. Guess we must bring our "A game" on 15/12.
Anyway, it would be good fun for everybody!
Still, who's jumpsmash?
And the Old Scoring System is no problem for CCC.
Captain smashed_1: Hope you can learn from my lesson in Marissa's comp for not letting everybody know about the old scoring system.

Peking Duck - I tried that last Sat. It is good.
Asian games badminton - FANTASTIC - Malaysia whitewashed by Korea , now the rare defeat of Lin Dan.
Yes , I do have a DVD player. The last DVD you gave me , I can't watch it on a DVD player but have to watch it from a computer with a DVD network to TV. The computer with DVD crashed last week and sent for repair - might not be ready.
This party for CCC players only, so far not too good a response. It is the time of the year where you have weddings , Company dinners , parties, school holidays, Christmas shopping etc .Some people have to go to 3 parties in one night. If foods or drinks is a hassle , don't worry - no water rationing in my area.

Hey uncle Hawker StirFly...
If you see what my youngest son(3 yr old) goes through everyday with his gaming routine. You will think his dad works for S*ny, Micr*s*ft and Nintend*. I have all 3 consoles at home and it's still no enough... :crying:
This gameboy gets tired easily and may sleep earlier. I will leave him at home. I will probably bring a karate-kid along to your place. He is more sociable and very cute... All his aunties cannot get enough of his chubby face. I wish I am that popular...:p
Anyway, talk to you tonight... Will probably be a bit late though... Got to work late today.
And on Sunday morning at 3am as well... Maybe I will sleepover at your place...;)
PS4? Are you sure mate? PS3 maybe...

I'd only use it in the car and the radio evidently wasn't designed to mask the shakes rattles pops and some kind of weird growling from behind the back seat so I just wear headphones set to no worries.

I'd only use it in the car and the radio evidently wasn't designed to mask the shakes rattles pops and some kind of weird growling from behind the back seat so I just wear headphones set to no worries.
Yschin, late entry if there's still room. I can add some drive safe punch and traditional english pork pies if the butcher's open this morning.
DP
DP - no worries there is always room, I got up this morning and there is already a bowl of punch in the fridge leaving it for me to set the safety level later this evening.
HKHung & DP - I have no ideas what gadget come with my son's IPOD.
All others -( Sorry ..Have to rush off last night to go to Airport today)
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR and hope to see you guys soon.

Hi kong-19,
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU !!! :):):)
Looks like you can come back to CCC before the end of March, 2007, now that you have won that $1000 voucher.
And don't forget CCC might be able to provide you with a free airplane ticket to Melbourne as well.
Send an email to me ( chris@cccbadminton.com ), and I will send you Invitations to yschin's Bon Voyage Party and Invitations to our CCC 5th Xmas & New Year Party.
Cheers... chris@ccc
Hi Christ
Have planned the third week Jan. To defend for the CCC Title.
Hopefully my friend have room for me to stay. If I have time,
U can try out these CCCs. " Chan Curry Chicken " &
" Chan Chinese Cooking " Badfever had tried my Dumpling & the
" Bakuteh " Roti Paratha & special blended sauce. From YsChin`s idea. I will
include the " DRANGON BALL " to the Bakuteh to see how the taste
is like. Unfortunately, I have difficulty to get Dragon Ball here in Brisbane.
I might have to make an Air order from YsChin before he back to KL.
My buddies alway say I spoil them with these dishes. However they haven`t
had the Bakuteh with Dragon Ball yet.
Before I forget, Chris & Badfever. Make sure u have the leather or at least
a PVC shoes in the car.
To CAPTAIN HKhung.
Have u any upcoming interclubs Tournament between 15-30 Jan 2007 ?
If there is, can I be of service to your Team ? Thank you.
cheers

Sorry that you could not come to yschin Bon Voyage Party.

Someone :confused::confused: who could give BK168 (from Clayton) to our Party, please let us know :):):)
Back to yschin Bon Voyage Party... below are 2 photos DoublesPlease have taken.
Sorry that Fuji and Justin had left earlier. And kong-19 phoned us with Best Wishes from Brisbane.:cool::cool:
Lots of food and drinks. Watched lots of Badminton (Asian Games @Doha 2006) and a little Soccer.
I almost dislocated my shoulder while playing table tennis against our 2 Chinese-trained players, David-Z and ozheater. It's because I tried too hard to spin the ball (by looping) with yschin's 2/10 Spin Rubber... Next time, I will bring my own 8/10 Spin Rubber. ;););)

Man, the photos are quite big. They are about 2MB each. As I were at my friends' house
What can i do to reduce the size? Can I save it as something else other than JPG?
If worse comes to worse, i will burn you those images on a CD for you on wednesday nite. For ozheater, that would be friday nite then.

Hi hkhuang,
The best way is that you use the google software "PICASA" if you've already installed on your computer. Another way is that you can use the "PAINT" which is in "WINDOWS" package.
You should open your photos'file first and then you click the IMAGE butten to change the photo size when you use the "PAINT".

To all CCC member:
I bumped into Ian today at a japanese restaurant on Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. He said he would not be coming to friday night waverly badminton. We talked of the summer season of competition and tournament. He told me that Kilsythe's badminton court has OK floor. Well, he's the first person to tell me that though.
Also i realise Kilsythe tournament does not have cash prize. Ian was quite astounded with the cash prize of one day comp.
We also talk about christmas party, he told me that Marissa's group did not have one last year. Hopefully they might have one in January.
Also, i bumped into Eric (a wednesday nite social regular) last tuesday at DTBA doncaster. He didn't play and i managed to talk to him in the middle of my game. Hopefully that did not piss off people who were playing with me while waiting for me to finish the conversation.
Might meet him again tonite.

To Laurie, Andrew Wong (the DTBA member that i know of) or anyone who want to play competition at doncaster for next year:
At last nite doncaster DTBA, I was asked to play competition on monday nite by Simon. He told me that it's a 3 man team. It's like 3 games a nite for a team. He also told me that i would be playing level 2 (level 1 being highest).
As inspired my chris's comment last nite: "if you wanna play comp, it's no point to do so without any training". So, here I am, I wonder if anyone is interested to join my team.
I wish Eric (our old friday CCC trainee) can join me. Then again, everytime i ask to come to waverly he been saying it's too much homework. He still play sunday doncaster 5-6pm every week with his brother for single.
Matthew is another person i can think of since he's near our area. Any suggestion is welcome.

To all the players who is playing in the friendly with JT Ultra,
may I suggest that we buy a gift to present to JT Ultra for coming over to CCC. I am thinking of getting a food hamper from either Kmart or Coles, lets say of $40 value (so it will be $5 each). What do you guys think? Once I get enough majority votes, if it's a go ahead, I volunteer (other volunteers is greatly appreciated as well) to drive to one of the shops on my way to CCC tomorrow and get it.
I know the time is very short but if you have any other suggestion, feel free to voice out.

Sorry i didn't check this message earlier. In the last interclub comp Marissa VS CCC team B, Marissa has already contacted me for a return match in future. Other than that, nothing much though.
So, if the interclub comp is between 15 - 30 Jan, you may join. That is of course, unless you have -8 next to your name.
To Chris:
Also, Chris, we might organise at someone's house to watch my badminton tapes in near future. On second thoughts, i would put them into the back of my car for sat day. THose tapes are in cantonese commentary though.

Terrific Idea!. Will be great to acknowledge JT's players. Great work there!!
Maybe next time we could have some CCC merchandise to exchange!!
Will have to present it after game 1 & 2, as JT's team 4 not arriving till 7.50-8pm. Also will be a time to exchange player names between clubs!!!
Just make sure game1 and game2 last a bit longer for me to get there in time....
We will stretch out game 1 & 2 just for u... old scoring so n.p. :)

Will be great to acknowledge JT's players.
That would be in acknowleding of "letting people know how many are coming" as well as "all coming on time", hell i would even throw in a tube of shuttle as a bonus if they let me know one week in advance.
Comes to think of it, in acknowleding CCC for its great service at accomodating people at various skill of badminton as well as making a loss while never knowing how many people are coming, we should have novelty award in christmas party.
Might have to make an expcetion for the "members only" rule though, else we don't have much choice given the situation that some members have gone.
Also will be a time to exchange player names between clubs!!!
THat must be on people's mind after the teamsheet on wednesday nite!
In regarding to tonite's comp, if everything is in place, i wonder why is Jacky Chen so stress (maybe he never smile anyway). Maybe he is stressed about result. Let's forefeit one of those matches and mess him up psychologically.
If they didn't put sleeping gas for my pulling teeth at dentist, i would have come 2 nite.
ANyway, hope that you have one great interclub comp - better than the wesley one i hope!

As you can see,
- for some reason Jack want me to photo him
- Andrew Ng decided to dress up as pizza delivery guy.
- and Helmut took everybody's photo at the "right moment" of sunset, job well done
- Helmut was very busy taking photos
- Chris like to offer his expertise at whatever things all the time as you can see from his finger pointing
If you want some more of "people's eating and talking", i will post later.

Peter, as of the interclub friendly against JTUltra you asked who was Eric Chai?
Here goes, he was in the photo as posted by ozheater: subject "I'll try to post those photos"
- the first photo from the top, waiting to be served by Kee
- second photo directly opposite to yourself
As said before he play at DTBA doncaster regularly and i also met him at Melbourne U 1 day comp.
The other photos he was there, but can't see his face, so not much help.
Hopefully he does not use any name for discussion board to disguse himself. Otherwise, you might have to do a little more of spy work to track him down.

G'day everyone!
Back home from my 'secret getaway'.. turned out it was Wilsons Prom.. considering the beautiful weather (no smoke in sight!) and the gorgeous views from atop mt. oberon and the magnificent waves at Squeaky beach, I forgave Laurie for keeping me in the dark for so long and also for the long hikes!!.. aside from the realisation that I'm now a year older, it was truly a wonderful birthday present (hint for all you guys!).. ;)
I currently resemble crackling on top of roast pork  .. got severely sunburnt and I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep or walk around without looking like a crab for a few days.. hehe.. laurie looks like rudolf with his bright red nose.. :D the redness and the pain has gone but I seriously am worried abt the 'crackling look' considering how the festive season is coming abt.. as a first timer, does anyone have any advice on how to treat sunburn?? (a checkout chick in Wilsons Prom told me to take a really HOT shower.. was she mad??!!!)
Anyway, won't be seeing everyone till after the new year.. have so many x'mas dinners and lunches that by the time i see everyone, I'll prob resemble a beached whale :o ... hope everyone thoroughly enjoys themselves over the festivities, drink in moderation and eat to your hearts content! :p Drive safely and i'll see y'all in 2007!!! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA!!!!! :)
I am not too sure if hot shower can help (can probably help you to peel off the dead skin ~:D )
I think aloe vera gel would be better and I know some people also use cooling gel at the same time which can make you feel better, less pain if the burn's really bad~ ;) - give it a try and let us know how it goes :)

Hi all ,
MERRY X'Mas & Happy New year to all.
Smashed_til_4 has been banned by Badminton Central for unknown reasons. 4 for dead in Penang's hokkien dialect - killed with a deadly smashed now. I also have the honour of driving a car now with number plate 44.
Great Pics Posted and enjoyed looking at them.
Chay Keow Teow not too bad either but doubled in price and half the amount.
Happy Birthday Lisa, you are very lucky. I only have 2 red eggs for her , fortunately she doesn't read Badminton Central - I don't know about that now??

- after gathering everybody's birthday to see whose birthday is the closest to the party date (and i was disqualified due to being a past winner), paul's wife - sharon brings out a cake for someone, by the way, does anybody remember who was the winner on that nite, it was the little girl, but what's her name?
- man, i must be very tired when the photo was taken
Please request if you want more photos!

Greetings,
I posted this, as Post#138, in our Wednesday Link= http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35687&page=7
From Monday 25-Dec-2006 onwards, we are opening up 3 courts for our Wednesday Social Badminton, 7:30pm-10:00pm. The remaining 4th court will remain for coaching purposes.
We are now inviting more Social Players to attend our Wednesday session. With 3 courts, we can accommodate 12 or more players. Previously, with 2 courts, we accommodated 6 to 8 players.
So, if you can come tonight, Wednesday 27-Dec-2006, you are most welcomed.

To All badminton rules fanatics:
When it's deuce, like 21-20. Is it true that we must comes to 2 point advantage by either side (say 24-22, 25-23) until we are 30.
This is the most argued point when we play social especially when we encourter players from other clubs who refuse to move with the time.
Anyway, hope someone can clear that for me!

Hi hkhung,
So surprised that you asked this question.:confused::confused:
The rule is;
If a game arrives at a score of 20-20, then the winner of the game will be;
(1) the side that scores 2 points more than the other side, eg 22-20, 23-21, 24-22, etc...
or
(2) the side that first reaches 30.
Since CCC started with this New Scoring System, we have observed more than 100 games that required/played under this rule @CCC.
So surprised that you haven't experienced it. :):):)

Hi everyone@ccc,
Another GOOD SESSION for Friday, 29-Dec-2006 (Session#37)
Knowing that 11 of our members will be away, we still continued our session through the Xmas & New Year period.
And it was OK, even though our Club went into deficit financially.
It is our intention to NEVER STOP PLAYING @CCC.
CCC Badminton will only be closed when our venue is unavailable for us.
Those players who have been with CCC for years will know this... for we have played even on Xmas Day and New Year Day in the past.
And when we have Friendly Matches with other clubs, half of our courts will still be available for Social Players. We want everyone@ccc, whether Social or Competitive Players, to never miss a session at our club. :):):)
We were quite surprised that LisaC and LChow turned up. And LisaC's sunburn is really bad. ;););)
For those who were absent, here is a short report.
>>> CCC Members Attendance = 9
>>> Casual Visitors Attendance = 6
>>> To Date: Out of the 144 players who have attended Friday CCC, 20 became members.
Last night with only 15 players, we decided not to play our CCC Handicapped Competition.
Besides, Llewellyn is still not fit to play. So, we just played only Social Games instead.
Suppertime: Attendance = 2, Chiranthi & chris@ccc
Chiranthi was introduced to Rock '& Roll' Kung Restaurant, for the first time.
Discussions @Supper:
*How to enjoy different spicy foods from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Sichuan(China), etc......

Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot

Research: Moderate drinking good for men's heart
www.chinaview.cn (http://www.chinaview.cn) 2007-01-03 08:44:31
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-01/03/xinsrc_1220104030857593120167.jpg BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhuanet) -- Excessive drinking is known to increase blood pressure, however, a new research suggests that men with high blood pressure have a lower risk of heart attack if they have a drink or two per day.
According to the research available Wednesday, small amounts of alcohol may act to thin the blood while increasing levels of HDL ("good") cholesterol in such patients, resulting in a protective effect.
The research was led by Joline Beulens of Wageningen University in the Netherlands who at the time was a visiting scholar at Harvard School of Public Health.
In their study, the researchers tracked more than 11,700 men diagnosed with high blood pressure who were between the ages of 40 and 75.
All the men in the study completed initial and follow-up questionnaires between 1986 and 2002 that collected information on their medical history, diets, and drinking habits.
Every four years participants filled out a questionnaire including details of how often they drank beer, red wine, white wine and spirits.
During the 16 years of the study, 653 of the participants had a heart attack, and in 279 cases, the attack was fatal. However, Beulens and her team found that moderate drinking was associated with a decrease in the overall risk for heart attack.
Compared to abstainers, men with hypertension who drank about a drink per day were 32 percent less likely to experience fatal or non-fatal heart attack; men who drank between one and two drinks per day had a 28 percent lower risk.
Spirits, followed by beer and wine, were the most popular option among those study participants who drank. Moderate consumption of spirits also showed the strongest association with lowered heart attack risk, the researchers said.
"Men with hypertension that drink moderately -- one to two drinks a day -- do not need to change those habits," Beulens said.
However she urged men not to have three drinks a day, as this increases their blood pressure and risk of an attack.
Because the study only looked at men the authors said it is impossible to say whether or not the findings also apply to women.

As discussed before, since many members were away during chrismtmas time, we would like to organise a social event for them.
So here i am throwing the idea of watching a movie in moonlight cinema on the table.
As illustrated by Chris, we have been to this place before in early 2006 and it offer a unique experience for everybody to get together.
On that time, Chris cooked his usual CCC curry chicken (or was it something else?) and everybody drank plenty of wine.
Details of event;
When........due to Cats/social@CCC, it it suggested that on a day besides wenesday /friday
It is suggested that people vote which movie they want to watch. So here goes the link for further details
http://www.moonlight.com.au/sessions.php
Where......royal botanic gardens
Cost....... $16 ticket but if you join the movie club online you pay $44 and get 4 tickets already
Any suggestion is welcome!

Hi hkhung,
Thank you for throwing the idea of watching a movie again, @Moonlight Cinema on the table.
(1) The last time we went there was on Thursday, 24-Feb-2005. And this was the Invitation we sent out;
CCC Badminton@Moonlight Cinema, Feb 2005
Movie : TOUCHING THE VOID (M)
Address: Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne Enter via D-Gate, Birdwood Avenue, Richmond, Vic 3121
Gate opens at 7pm, but movie starts at sundown
Beanbags for hire at $16 (plus $10 refundable deposit)
There is Restaurant/cafe to provide your nourishment, but it's cheaper to bring your own beanbag, food & drinks
(2) Yes, we could go on any night, other than Wednesday and Friday nights when our CCC Badminton sessions are playing.
(3) We need some suggestions from our CCC players which movie to watch. But someone has to start with a suggestion... and of course, we should watch the movie with the majority votes. For me, I go there to socialise... so, what movie we watch is not important to me.
If you get no suggestions... I would think you should be the one to pick the movie, since you started the idea.
But, please give our players at least 2 weeks to talk/think about it.
(4) We should think that for every 4 players going, 1 player should join the Movie Club. This is give everyone@CCC the best deal.
Well, hkhung...... thank you for organising it, and we hope that you can get good reponses from everyone@CCC.
Cheers... chris@ccc

To All CCC member for the moonlight cinema occasion:
WIth respect to choices of movie i think it would be much easier if we all nominate 3 movies as top 3 preferences.
That way, there's way better chance that we would watch one that everybody like!
My choice are the departed 27/1 (saturday), casino royle 3/2 (sat), the blakc dahlia 10/3 (saturday)
What do you think?

Ask discussed last nite, there were quite a few questions regarding the moonlight cinema
1. when we will meet:
as the gate open at 7pm, we will all meet inside and set ourselves up at a certain part. Once you are inside, it's quite easy to find each other.
2. how much it will cost:
$16 at the box office. But for $44 you can join as a member and get 4 complimentary ticket. once you join member, you can order ticket online and receive ticket through email and print them out and use them.
So all you have to do is get organized and save money!
Following is the link for people to join as a member.
http://www.moonlight.com.au/movieClub.php
3. bring your favourite food and drinks:
As further discussed, bring your favourite food and drinks for the nite.
4. when is the event roughly:
at the moment casino royale is winning (1st sat day on february) due to many people not fuzzy about what they want to watch. Anyhow, this could all change when more people come in and vote.
I wil try to ask people to put down their film on monday cigar nite.
Last but not least, i sincerely hope that everybody can spread the word out to let people know of this event!

Good things is, that place is definitely no booking required.

To all CCC member for the moonlight cinema:
Matters of notice:
Where do we park:
There are plenty of parking alongside royal botanic garden near the entrance of the moonlight cinema on birdwood avenue
Payment:
Once you pay online for membership, you can order straighaway. Still I would suggest people do this a few days before the movie in case anything goes wrong.
For money saving purpose, I suggest people get themselves organize in groups of 4 and one of them use their credit card for membership.

Enjoy your badminton. Hi yschin,
What a pity that you could not watch live, that match Lin Dan Vs Taufik Hidayat. But I was told it was on TV though.
But we knew that TH was already in trouble when he lost the first game, 19-21.
At the present moment, if he is to beat LD, TH must win the match in just 2 games, IMHO.
Congratulations to Ashley Brehaut & Aji Basuki Sindoro, and now comes their hardest challenge...... to play against Chandra Wijaya & Tony Gunawan.
And thank you for posting that score link for our CCC members. :):):)

Hi yschin,
Lin Dan made an exit in Round 2 of the Malaysia Open 2007.
Did you get a chance to obtain your ticket for Round 2 ?

Unfortunately no. What was thought to be predictable turned out to be very exciting games and big upsets. Early rounds not shown on Satellite or national TVs. National tv highlighted at 12 midnight for half an hour!! and no improvements made since I was a kid. The commentator sound like the same chap too with familiar phrases - "cantik tapi keluar" - "beautiful but way out". They showed shuttlers picked up the shuttle from the floor and shake each other hands. That's all you get.
From other sources:
Credit to Sung - hwan who was all over the court and made Lin Dan made several of his famous dives. The last point was a huge dive across the court but he failed to retrieve. The crowds cheered whoever play against LD. The M'sian press has not being too kind to LD and he refused to meet the media just like last year. I don't know about Yong Bo wanting to break Sung-hwan legs this time.
Credit to Bulgarian girl''s double pair who provided some excitement too. Badminton - Bulgaria - other than the B's .... ????
Credit to Rexy - malaysia double coach. M'sia 's weakest and back up pair of Bin Shen -Soon Hock upset world no 1 - Haifeng - Cai Yun Fu. Their aggressive and attacking play reminised ( spelling?) of 1960's pair of Yee Khan- Boon Bee who lost onlly 3 games in their entire career and record 4x M'sia open champ.
Credit to Choon Han , just back from injury and played a 72 mins 3 setters with Chen Jin. The last set being 20-22. The last point was a back hand cross court 'smash' return inches wide.
My prediction that KKK Koo Kien Kiat - Tan Boon Heong be world no.1 soon seems to be coming true.
Credit to Lin Dan and Taufik. Their colourful, controversial , daring, crafty display ... etc bring the much needed excitement to boost the game of badminton. The long queues and fights for tickets was also a first for M'sia. There are already calls for bigger venue next year.
Sympathies to the thousands of flood victims of M'sia southern states.
Cheers

Hehehe...... that "cantik tapi keluar" is really a classic line. :):):)

LCW understands Mandarin spoken by LYB.
Pershaps, PSH doesn't understand Mandarin. :p:p:p

Well, well, well...... This news makes me feel proud of our Malaysian Doubles standard.:cool::cool:
Credit to Choon Han , just back from injury and played a 72 mins 3 setters with Chen Jin. The last set being 20-22. The last point was a back hand cross court 'smash' return inches wide.
Of course...... you have been always a WCH's fan. ;););)
Well Done WCH !!! :):):)
My prediction that KKK Koo Kien Kiat - Tan Boon Heong be world no.1 soon seems to be coming true.
I completely agree with you here. :p:p:p

Hi everyone@ccc,
This is a not a pleasant posting, but it has to be posted, so that every player@CCC understands how CCC stands.
Last night, Friday 19-Jan-2007, one of our players was asked to leave our club.
Anyone having concerns or questions, please feel free to talk to me.
Today, I have sent him this email;
====== start email ======
Hi DZ,
Sorry for what has happened last night, Friday 19-Jan-2007.
And, this is a very difficult/painful letter to write...... because it has a negative tone.
The main issue is that we could not meet your demands/requirements.
CCC Badminton Club was formed in the hope that it will help more people to enjoy playing Badminton...... and we play as a family of friendly players.
Our policy is to welcome players with all different skill levels to come to play and to enjoy Badminton with us.
We want to be the friendliest club.
In Melbourne, there are many Badminton Clubs. One of the reasons, (not the only reason), why we started CCC is because we found that many clubs are not treating weaker players with the same respect as they are treating stronger players.
We want to enjoy Badminton as a family of both strong and weak players. In other words, we want stronger players and weaker players to play together.
This is why we call ourselves a "SOCIAL CLUB".
So, when you are only wanting to play with players stronger than yourself...... and not wanting to play with players weaker than yourself ...... we know we could not meet your demands/requirements
However, our suggestion that a player of a particular skill should form a Doubles Partnership with another player of about the same skill is because we think that it is very unfair when opponents keeping hitting shots to the weaker player and leave the stronger player out of the game. The stronger player of the Partnership just don't enjoy it.
It is very unfortunate that you were asked to leave our club in an unpleasant manner...... but we have to make sure that our CCC policy is carried out.
We had the discussion at our suppertime again, and we found that everyone is in favour of welcoming everyone, and not be worried about how strong or how weak a player is, when he/she comes to play with us.
However, you should have no problem to find another club/group in Melbourne that would meet your demands/requirements.
Sincerely wishing you all the best.
====== end email ======
Cheers... chris@ccc

TO all CCC people:
As the organizer for the moonlight cinema, i am to confirm that the detail for the moonlight cinema event
date: 3/2 (sat day)
movie: casino royale
time: 7pm
meeting place: inside the cinema
cost: 16 dollars at the box office
eating: bring your favourite food and drink to share
If on the night it rains, it would not be any movie to be watched. Hence, it would be fitting to discuss a plan B in the case if that happenes.
well, in the case it rains, it can't be anything outside i guess. So i think dinner would have to be it. And it would obvioulsy have to be dinner near there. Since we gonna go there in short notice, we have to bare in mind of the priority of availabilty over location over cost.
ANy suggestion?
Also since chinese new year is coming, Jack suggested that we have a social event. We would try to bring out the matter for discussion whenever.

I will keep Saturday 3-Feb-2007 free for this occassion.
And, I will cook CCC (Chris' Curry Chicken), and bring French Fries and wine for our outing.
The CCC would be in FFF (Finger Food Form), so that we don't have to bring plates and cutlery.
But everyone will have to bring your own cups/glasses for your wine. :):):)
And don't forget to invite Eva, Francesca, Belinda and Karen to watch Agent 007.

The last time members@CCC played Ten-Pin Bowling was about 4 years ago. So it might be good to have another game again.

For Chinese New Year, FOOD could be the best thing to enjoy.
It would be great if Jack or anyone@CCC can organise dinner for that occassion...... restaurant or home dinner.

To BK168 and all people for moonlight cinema :
With respect to people buying ticket for moonlight cinema, like organizing partner for CCC handicapp, for the people who are definite to come, I suggest people get together in groups of 4 and purchase ticket together.
To my knowing, so far only me, Chris and you are definite.
What i would do is communicate with people either in person and through this board and try to organise people if they haven't got a group.

Super Series no 1
Final
Wong Choon Han appointed post match interviewer both in English and Chinese for the final live on TV. For an amateur he is not that bad. A little impatient though, trying to grab the mike away from Peter before he finished talking. However ,he is very comfortable in front of the girls.
The clever as ever Peter Gade outsmarted Bao Chun Lai. Dabbing and jabbing into the body of the lanky BCL and giving little chance for him to smash.
Wong Mew Choo looks like she is going to cry even before the start of the match. The happiness of making history and just being in the final. She improved tremendously since I last saw her played in the Commonwealth games. Zhu Lin just too good for her. The commentator cheekily shouted during the 11 point break “where is LCW, where is LCW” why not there to give tips to WMC. It was reported in papers that a courtship is going on. Both denied.
It is good to see some smiling faces even in defeat. The smiles on Indo women pair Polii & Marissa. Maybe because $$ in badminton not as intense as tennis. Winner gets US$12200 , runners up- US$4880 Safin and Hewitt not that gracious and get lots more $ even in early round exits .
Highlight of the final is undoubtly the 117th ranked KKK & TBH.meeting the formidable pair of Gunawan & Wijaya. KKK & TBH were so fired up by the crowd and of course Rexy. Turning back to look at Rexy after every point. The game was so fast paced, the commentor keep calling the wrong names. Devasting in attack, soild in their defence and the cocky showman KKK placed shots cleverly . Excellent game 21-15, 21-18 in 32 mins. Up goes their rankimg again .
Next in the series Korean Open US300,000 , 23-01-07 to 28-01-07.
Some previous headlines from the local papers:-
Dethroned – 3x M’sia Open champion LCW happy to lose the jaguh kampong tag. (village champion)
Old master Wong – against Chen Jin one of the greatest matches of the Open. Longest at 74 mins and most shuttles used at a staggering 34. WCH fighting spirit is an example for all aspiring players.
Leaky break for Gunawan – Wijaya. Heavy rain and leaking stadium forced them to switch court and thereafter easily beat Ashley Brehaut and Aji Sindoro.

Next time when she comes, you 4 girls, Chiranthi, LilyC, Julia-C and you, should organise yourselves to play a few games of Ladies Doubles. I believe that you 4 C's could have a lot of fun playing together. :):):)
See you on Friday.

I wonder what's the chinese character for Lou Sang Hi hkhung,
Tonight, at our Wednesday CATS, kong-19 will explain to you what "Lou Sang" is.
And I have already organised with a restaurant to prepare that dish for us for our Chinese New Year 2007 Dinner.
This afternoon, we will be getting from the restaurant, a full list/detail about our CNY Dinner.
Players@CCC playing Badminton tonight and/or this Friday will be able to comment and talk/suggest more on it (ie, when to have it, how much should we spend, how many can come to the dinner, etc, etc......).
With families, partners, friends, etc... of all our players@ccc, we should hope to get around 50-100 diners to come along. :):):)

To all people for my moonlight cinema:
parking matter -
It is raised by Jack as of concern for parking on the night for our moonlight cinema. I found out today that aus open finish 28 jan, hence the parking for moonlight cinema (5/2) would not be affected by it.

Hi CCC-guys,
First time poster here. I was thinking about joining you for your friday session tomorrow (26/1/07), but since it's a public holiday and all I thought it might be a good idea to verify that you're actually keeping open.
Also, is there any chance one of you might be driving past the Glen Waverly train station on your way home after the session, and feel like tending an extra passenger for a few kilometers? :-) As far as I can see, the buses stop running around 9.30 or so.
Cheers,

Hi,
I am still injured and won't be attending tonight.
However we have supper near the Glen every Friday after the games. Someone will definitely give you a lift to the station. Just ask Chris or any hungry people after the games... ;)
Have fun and enjoy yourself.

Sorry to hear about your injury, hope it's nothing too serious. When you're all better and fit to fight again, I'm sure we'll get the chance to have a hit.

Hi gozzer,
Thank you for posting @Badminton Central to tell us that you are coming tonight.
As Fuji_ has posted, you will definitely have no problem getting a lift to the Glen Waverley train station after our session.
And to all players@ccc;
Anyone travelling past Burwood (right off Deakin Uni) on the way to our CCC Friday Social, please send a PM (Private Message) to gozzer. It would be really appreciated, and even better, if gozzer can get a lift, to and fro, from house to Badminton.

Hi everyone@ccc,
Sorry about this late report. With so many things going on, I have not been able to post this report earlier.
Another GOOD SESSION for Friday, 19-Jan-2007 (Session#40)
For those who were absent, here is a short report.
>>> CCC Members Attendance = 13
>>> Casual Visitors Attendance = 7
>>> To Date: Out of the 158 players who have attended Friday CCC, 22 joined our membership.
Welcoming first time to our Friday Social@CCC;
Julia-C, Don-LF
With so many CCC members still away, we decided to restart our CCC Handicapped Competition in February.
Suppertime: Attendance = 9 ;
smashed_1, ozheater, hkhung, Chiranthi, Siva-S, BadFever, andrewghw, kong-19, chris@ccc,
Discussions @Supper:
*chris@ccc reminded again that, in a game of Doubles, the player nearer to the net should never look back at his/her partner just before the partner hits the shuttle. It was very unfortunate that Lesley-F was hit in the eye when she did so during a game on the night. (BTW, Siva-S has since informed me that Lesley-F is OK and recovering, after seeing a doctor). :)
*hkhung told us more about our coming movie@Moonlight Cinema.
*ozheater suggested that we hold a CCC Chinese New Year 2007 Celebration Dinner. (Where is Brandon-C, who said he could organise for us Social Activities ???). ;););)

Hi Fuji_,
You don't need to play...... JUST COME FOR SUPPER. :):):)
We hope that you, Candy and your 2 boys can come to our CCC Chinese New Year 2007 Celebration Dinner.
We have transferred the discussion for this event to POST#87 of our CCC Badminton: General Forum thread = http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38230
Discussion with input from players@CCC has been slow and few so far.
Only ozheater, who suggested it, BK168, who wanted "Lou Sang", and kong-19, who went around with me to talk to restaurants, have made contributions/suggestions for this event.
And I have so many other matters to attend to...... so I need other members@CCC to spend some of their time, with thoughts and actions, to make our CNY 2007 Celebration a success.

About the CNY 2007 celebration:
As of last nite it was decided that CNY 2007 celebration to be either 3/2 or 10/2 since it is assumed that people want to spend time with their family on 17/2.
I guess now it's the right time to talk more about it. Please remmeber, I am not the organizer of this event, instead i am just trying to get people to discuss this here.
I remember we normally organizng things in stages, and these are the stages identiifed through talking with people from last friday.
1. agree on the date
- as it was suggested by helmut last nite, people could be contacted through email for confirmation. Once again, this goes back to the experience of organizing other event as in various forms of response:
"coming but not confirmed through email"
- speaking from experience once again, this would be very hard to be dealt with
"coming and confirmed"
"not coming and not confirmed"
- both of the aboved response would be easy to dealt with as they were definite response
2. decide the place
- as i was talking to Jason F last nite, we had to find out how many poeple are going before we book. Hence we have to think of scenario to accomodate "last minute" people.
Other matters as of concern:
- parking arrangement
- do we need a plan B?
Let's keep in mind if we set the date to be next sat day(3/2), it would mean we only got one more friday nite supper to discuss further about things.

to all CCC people about CNY celebration:
It's gonna be hard work for chris to organize CNY so i am wondering whether we can help him for picking restaurant.
There was a dinner organised before at a malvern restaurant (2004), in that instance we had the whole second floor to ourselves, 2 big table each. Sadly, that restaurant has moved across to opposite and i do not know whether they still have a similar floorspace.
I still have the business card though.
As we all know, there are gonna be a lot of people for CNY so i wonder does anyone know of any restaurant that we can get a whole floor space to ourselves like ocean king?

Not a bad idea...... If you have Chinese Clothes, wear them to attend our CNY Celebration.
However, most of us have Badminton, not Chinese Clothes.

To all people who did want to go to moonlight cinema (BK+Peter, i am speaking to u i think):
Matter a:
*hkhung might be organising a Moonlight Movie in 2 weeks' time.
Well, in two weeks
learning from experience (no, casino royale was full house)
- must book tickets in advance on website which you need a credit card to do that (up to 4pm on the day)OR come early to buy ticket from box office
It cost extra $17 for booking ticket online (14+3 service fee). So a regular ticket is $16 dollars if you buy it out right on the nite at box office.
UNless you purchase a membership card ($44 which comes with 4 ticket credit you can use to reserve ticket).
All info of ticketing are on this link
http://www.moonlight.com.au/faqs.php?MoonlightFaqCategoryId=10
- queue up early (i mean 7pm sharp) for parking if it's a warm nite, my friend spend almost 40 minutes to find parking on last sat day arriving 7:15 and still circling at 8pm sharp.
The movie on this particular sat day (24/2) is babel with brad pitt and cate blanchett. I already purcahse membership card so i got 4 credits waiting to be used.
Whenever i organise things it's for people to come so I would really like poeple to tell me whether they are interested or not.
Matter b:
Since lewlellyn is not here, it must be hard for people for Chris to explain the new scoring system and tell people how to use chart to pick team and schedule games. SO it would be nice if we all could help him to do the explaining part to new comers to CCC.
If it's a lot of work now, imagine how hard it would be when the handicapped system comes in.
Well, the more time Chris has to stop+talk to everybody about things, the less time we play. Right?
DoublesPlease

To all people who miss CNY dinner last nite:
In the "grand tradition" of supper reports, i thought i make this one up for people who weren't there.
Time: 10/2 7:30pm
Location: Happy Palace at Bourke St
Attendance:
Table A: Belinda, Francesca, Eva, Ken, Helmut, the guy who chris chase up to drive home at sofitel (read later), Jackey Chen and his friend, Phil
Table B: Brian, Chris, Jack, Josie, Vivian, Michelle (who kindly said she don't remmeber me from wednesday nite CCC) and apology to the rest of the people who don't remmeber your name(s) besides the fact that someone sang the song yesterday (great singing though, but what's your name again?)
In the "grand tradition" of supper reports, i thought i make this one up for people who weren't there.
- JackeyChen query hkhung about the availability of joining DTBA monday nite competition
- when the waiter said last order of dishes, hkhung was worried that the place is gonna be closed so he cannot sing no more
- before dinner, Chris was trying to get people to do karaoke. Obviously nobody want to do that on an empty stomach
- At dinner, Chris was trying to get people to dance with fast songs (hopefully some photos for people dancing to be posted by Helmut)
- At dinner, hkhung found out that we only order 2 dishes for 8 people
- At Sofitel drinks after the main dinner, after introducing many people the whole night, Chris accidentally called Phil David (which was the name of the waiter who was serving us). Thank god he didn't called the waiter Phil
- At Sofitel Chris chase up this guy who already left so this guy could stay behind for Chris to drive him back later
- Chris and me were amused that this guy (from the following sentence) came with his badminton gear and shoes for the dinner after playing at Altona
Unfortunately i was only on one table for the whole nite, so the only interactions with the poeple on other table were the time when they send the food over when they could not eat no more (yay!).
Hopefully i would post some photos later.

Hi all,
I'll just copy what I've wrote on the other thread across.
on another matter with the shirts.. I suggest we could get our names printed as well as 'CCC badminton'. I've ordered some iron-on names from a internet site (in Adelaide) and they do a pretty good job and not that expensive.
Cheers,

Hi all,
As promised to Badfever last night.. here's the website from Japan..
http://shuttle-house.com/
it's listed with yonex's RRP (25,500 yen) but it'll automatically give you a discount when you add 1 to the shopping cart.. it works out around AU$230-AU$240 depending on the exchange rate including postage (if i estimated correctly how heavy the racket is).
I am tempted to get the AT900 too.. but i better think hard on whether i need another racket.. :D or my girlfriend will kill me for wasting $$$.. :o

i haven't bought from this website b4.. but i think a lot of BC ppl have.. and their comments on whether they are good varies.. depends whether you can speak Jap or not if you have any queries about your order.. :p
I think I'll get the technique too if i am going to get it, but still thinking about it... I've got a AT700 already and the review from ants said AT900P is not as head heavy as the AT700, so i guess i can always turn to my AT700 if i ever need more power hitting...

I only have one reason to buy a new racket. I wanted the AT900T cos it's Yonex brand and it's WHITE color. I think I can play better with a WHITE color racket.  :p
Actually, I already got Chris to order me 2 of the AT900T from his reliable source, which is going to be the AS code. Hopefully, it won't take his source 6 months to get the rackets. So, I am currently waiting for March to come and I will get Chris to check the exact date of arrival. Then I will decide whether to order from shuttle-house or not.

We left the Baranows Cigar Lounge @2:30am...... yes, showing how enjoyable it was there. :):):)
Also, we talked about booking out the whole place for ourselves (for our own Private Function one night)...... if we can get 100+ people to attend a 'Badminton Tournament Video Sharing Night' there. And it could be held for 8 hours, say on a Saturday night, from 6:30pm to 2:30am. There will be lots of Tounaments we can watch.:cool::cool:
We could get players to bring their favourite videos to be played on a giant screen there, some 4x4 metres big.

Hi andrewlyw,
Regarding to the Armortec 900 Power/Technique, I have been informed that CCC will know the price by March 2007.
While waiting for it, we hope that players@ccc will report on prices that they have come across through Badminton Shops where they have been visiting. Of course, we are talking about Australian Shops selling the AS coding.
BTW, I do not want to waste my time dealing with a source that cannot offer our members@CCC with special prices...... as you know that I am already having too many things that I am involved in.

Visited several badminton retailers in KL, unfortunately none of them heard about AT900 P or T. They asked where the info from and conveniently answered - internet CCC's forum.
Good that I learn a few things about rackets as a result of this visit. I supposed most of you would have read about them in Badminton Central forums.
AT700 (Tuafik's) retailing with bag and string Ringgit Malaysia $660.00 = AUD 240.00 (1AUD = RM2.75?)
AT800 at RM $690.00. (AUD 250.00)
Carbonex 30 = RM400.00 (AUD 145.00) According to my nephew - this is a rare find in M'sia - one an only one . Choon Han's use Carbonex 21.
Nanospeed 9000 (LCW's) and Muscle Power 99 (Lin Dan's) - forgotten the $$.
All these rackets are placed in more or less the same grouping in the catalogue i.e extra stiff and for 'power smasher'.

cont'd..
My elbow will be vibrating with these weapons.
I think the cheaper rackets are more flexible and better for control but lack power in smash.
The popular Yonex 98 series shoes retail at RM299.00 (AUD110.00). I bought one 2 years back in NZ for NZ$200. The 99 series (LCW currently wearing) list price RM$499.00 - probably can sell at RM399.00 - I did not ask.

None of the retailers in Badminton crazy M'sia heard of AT900 and Yonex is really slow in updating their website : www.yonex.com (http://www.yonex.com) about this product. Marketing strategy or I in the wrong or fake website ? - someone please enlighten me !

Greetings,
I just posted my weekly comment for our CATS@Waverley, to be expected for Wednesday 28-Feb-2007. And I like to post here, part of the comment;
====== start of comment ======
After our CCC Friday Social Supper last week, DoublesPlease made a comment that he would like to know in more detail, who will be coming/not coming to our CCC Socials, whether Wednesday or Friday.
Well, DoublesPlease is asking for too much. :):):) And I would not be able to handle it, informing everyone who will be/not be coming.
BTW, according to my database, out of our 31 Wednesday Social Sessions to-date, 42 different Social players have attended. And this does not include our CATS trainees, where so far we have 31 different trainees.
The use of our CCC Badminton Sub-Forum (located at http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=192 ) is for everyone@ccc to post, to inform us about his/her involvement or participation in our sessions. In fact, DoublesPlease is a 'Big Pain' himself :p:p:p because every time when he couldn't come, he would email me or Private Message me, and then expecting me to post his info. :(:(:(
Anyway, this is my common expectation: When no news is received from a regular player, it is expected that he/she would attend. And for new or irregular players, we would like them to inform us when they want to attend.
====== end of comment ======
Anyway, back to our CCC Friday Social@Waverley...... according to my database, out of our 45 Sessions to-date, 174 different players have attended.
I am now finding it too hard to look over 174 different players' details. In fact, weekly when I update our database, I am finding that I am already spending too much time checking whether we are getting a first timer or an irregular player who has played with us before. :):):)
So, to answer this question for DoublesPlease, about knowing who is coming or not coming, let us all communicate via our relevant thread(s).
Cheers... chris@ccc

Hey yschin, there are some BC members in Singapore already managed to get the AT900. In case you happened to go to S'pore, you can go to the major sports shop there to have a look. Currently, I think no one in Malaysia has the AT900 except for one of BC members, Ants.
BTW, what's with the pink Nano 10000? Are you sure the number you called is the real Sunrise and not Sunrice (fake YY distributor). :p :D

Still not convinced... called Singapore Sunrise +65 62583377 , nope   , maybe they redirect me to the Rice dept , over here we do all kinds of business under the Sun as long as there is $$. Will call Japan Yonex if necessary. Will fly to S'pore, Airasia, Tiger Air, Jetstar all offering RM$9.00 tickets for early birds.
Better in the Rice biz , you can't fake it, you have to grow it... :p China will be a net importer for Ausssie Sunrise's rice. You have given me a brilliant idea. Cheers mate.
