Guangdong Sports (http://www.gdtv.com.cn/newpage/sports/ttdb.asp) is planning to show 3-1/2 hours of the round robin play in the men's team event on Thursday, according to their schedule, from 14:00 to 17:25 Beijing time. However, there is nothing listed for the weekend so it doesn't look good for the team playoffs.
Nothing listed for CCTV-5 yet, either. If there is any Doha coverage on other CCTV channels, I have no idea how to find that out as I don't know Chinese.

I would like to ask, when will Astro start broadcasting the Men's team event? It starts today, and Astro guide stated that it'll start at 2pm, but there's no channel for it! Is it gonna be broadcasted starting from tomorrow the 1st?

Ya I heard that too.. But these 4 channels don't exist... yet (maybe). I tried clicking channel 83 but it said there's no channel 83. Same goes to the Astro guide.:( :(

I just turned it on and seeing Hafiz H play a japanese player. That was an hour ago? Did they get the time wrong? I just turned it on at what should be 3 minutes before the badminton broadcast starts (ie. it's 3:52 Beijing time now) and I'm watching Game one of a ping pong match. This is Guangdong Sports on PPStream. Are you watching the same channel?

Bao Chunlai is playing in the neighbouring court. The Chinese commentators must be frustrated.
event
11-30-2006, 02:58 AM
Well, it seems they acted on their frustration. GDTV is showing volleyball now, in spite of what their schedule says. Oh well, we got to see one men's doubles match. I am not holding my breath about what we'll have streamed in the next week.
event
11-30-2006, 03:19 AM
Well, on second look, GDTV's schedule didn't make any sense. They said they were going to show the men's team event live from 4PM to 7:30PM their time but 4PM in Beijing is 11AM in Qatar, or 2h after the team event started. From what Wong8Egg said, it seems they might have started their badminton coverage early. There are 2h left in the time slot they scheduled but all the 9AM(Qatar time) ties have finished so it is no wonder they are showing volleyball. They may have planned to show taped matches if those included China but since China was not on the TV court, it's volleyball. I'm only guessing.
At any rate, They say they'll be showing more badminton at 35 minutes past midnight but again, that is 7:35PM Qatar time and that is again 2h after the last round of team competitions starts so we're likely to see very little. It might pay to tune in early again, though. Who knows?

Well, I included the PPStream link (http://www.ppstream.com/proinfo/RAROMB2J37U2VR7IY5A5OVNVJX43ENOL.html) already but here it is again. TVAnts probably gives you GDTV with this link (tvants://www.tvants.com/tvants/?k=568530459051240c). In both cases, you need to install the streaming software and you get that from the respective homepages.
Astro isn't available in Korea. As far as I know, it's never streamed, either. I don't expect much AG coverage on Chinese or Korean TV as both countries have so many other sports to give them medals. Korean TV is likely going to show more football and baseball than anything else. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

at last..i just click whatever that i can click at the PPStream and...ZL vs OSA...hehe..thannxxxx event...You're welcome. PPStream download is here (http://www.ppstream.com/download.html) but it appears you found it. TV Ants is likely easier since it's menus are in English or in readable Chinese. PPStream is exasperating but has better picture quality. PPLive used to be the one I used but it no longer seems to have GDTV and my computer has decided it's a virus.
It seems GDTV's schedule isn't that useful. It isn't surprising that they decided to show Chinese women play instead of non-Chinese men. They have ping pong on again now.

Sorry. I included those instructions for reference only. As I mentioned way back at the beginning of the thread, yesterday's listings were all the badminton that were shown on GDTV's schedule (http://www.gdtv.com.cn/newpage/sports/ttdb.asp). Since then, more has appeared but not until the semi-finals on December 4th at 13:50 Beijing time. There is a 3h block there which seems to say it will be badminton team? semifinals and women's volleyball. Possibly a taped broadcast.
With so many events to show, I wouldn't be surprised if it might be easier to find news buried in the Chinese text of the Guangdong Sports or CCTV websites about when they are planning to show badminton. I can't actually read Chinese. I am trying but can we have some help here?

Yup, there is also bdm LIVE from RCTI in Individual event (although just only Final match), schedule below :
- XD : 08/12/06 Friday (11.15pm - 01.30am 09/12/06)

It's very minimal coverage of XV AG that I know from this top-rate INA's TV Station (as usual). Better to watch on digital parabola!

So CCTV5 plans to show just a maximum of one hour of the men's semi-final replay and then cut to the live men's finals coverage? How could they justify that much badminton in a row with all those other sports to show?

I asked kwun to un-sticky it because the CCTV times, which are not dependable, are misleading. woodenRacket, who was kind enough to post the times for us, has suggested (http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=477655&postcount=61) that GDTV might be more trustworthy.
If someone who reads Chinese could help us out with the GDTV schedules (http://www.gdtv.com.cn/newpage/sports/ttdb.asp) in that or a new thread, that would be a better candidate for a sticky. I tried earlier in this thread but, not knowing Chinese, I missed the details about shared time slots and delayed coverage.
