Luluk/Alvent have always found it difficult to play against Chinese pairs nowadays
They are getting weaker each day. ;)

badMania
12-02-2006, 07:06 AM
A really ugly performance yet again by Luluk/Alvent as they lost the first set easily 10-21.

Markis/Kido are catching up. They are far too weak.

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:08 AM
Luluk/Alven again did not play well in team event. 10-21. Hope it will be better in second set.

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:10 AM
Probably Luluk/Alven already past their peak performance. 2-3 years ago they ranked number 1 or 2? They won many titles and beat most of the top MD.

But now?

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:11 AM
2 set. 4 all for both Ina and Chn pairs

Probably Luluk/Alven already past their peak performance. 2-3 years ago they ranked number 1 or 2? They won many titles and beat most of the top MD.

But now?

Luluk/Alvent are 27/26 yo...so...they could at most go for the next Olympics.
INA still have more promising pairs with Hendra AG/Joko Riyadi almost certain to be promoted to the main team next year.

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:17 AM
After Luluk/Alven lead 8-3, the score got tied again 9-8 for Ina leading.

badMania
12-02-2006, 07:19 AM
A much better performance in the opening stage of the second set as Luluk/Alvent surged ahead 8-3. But, the 5-points lead went down the drain as they struggled again and now trailed 10-11 at the interval of the second set

badMania
12-02-2006, 07:21 AM
Oh dear...it's 10 consecutive points for China as they make it 18-10. It's all over...

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:22 AM
Again, after leading from start and then 10-8, Luluk/Alven lost all by tailing now 10-15.

badMania
12-02-2006, 07:25 AM
China has won the second doubles as I feared...and Luluk/Alvent lost to Guo/Xie yet again (probably the 3rd times this year ).

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:27 AM
Yep! 21-12 for Guo/Xie.

From 10-8, Luluk/Alven onlygain 2 points meanwhile Guo/Xie had 13 points!

Geez, I wonder how will Indonesia do in runner up matches cause seems like we only had one strong MD1 and terible MD2.

badMania
12-02-2006, 07:28 AM
They might put Nova/Alvent in for one of the matches tomorrow....

hcpoirot
12-02-2006, 07:43 AM
My guess is they didnot play the third MS cause the results is clear: China the group winner and Indonesia is runner up. Both BCL and Sonny can rest specially Sonny who probably had to play twice tomorrow.

badMania
12-02-2006, 10:25 AM
Adriyanti Firdasari fulfilled her promise as she beat Julia Wong 21-18, 21-15. Firda was very impressive with her cross-court and forehand smashes which left the Malaysian running from left to right and also falling down many times trying to save the shuttles.

Now....hopefully Lilyana Natsir/Lita Nurlita also beat the Malaysian pair to level the scores at 2-2.

It could have been 2-1 to INA right now with Jo Novita/Greysa Polii at match point 20-19 in the second set, before that terrible injury to Jo Novita. Hopefully this wuill spur the INA players to win today's tie against MAS.

SO, INA ties the score at 2-2 with the deciding game between Pia Zebadiah between Norsyahliza Baharum. Can Pia deliver the precious point? I still think MAS has the edge.

The injury (hopefully not so serious) to Jo Novita perhaps spurred her team-mates to perform their best and win the tie. It will be a good achievement if they can beat Malaysia. Since Korea is one of the runners-up, I don't think INA can beat Korea tomorrow. Another win against either HKG or THA will be a bonus.

Get rid of Nana and send Firda, Maria + Pia (and Aprillia) to compete next year. After seeing Pia's perfomance against Zhu Lin today, I am sure she can go far once she has enough playing experience in the senior level.

The next thing is to recruit Fang Kaixiang and let her train Pia, Sylvinna (and maybe Maria Febe if she's still not in Pelatnas) and Bellaetrix.

god, i hope not. that girl seemed very comfortable with her current coach which i believe is from china. joining the pbsi would spell trouble to her career. anyway her club, djarum, do send their players to overseas to compete which is always good since pbsi sometimes only send the players they think would win or reach sf and above. that's why the women's team haven't really been progressing which is because of the lack of matches.

Forget abt the first singles and doubles. There's no way Nana can beat Hwang Hye Yeon after two wretched performances today. INA might also throw away the first doubles since Jo is injured.

The key matches will still be as today's: Adriyanti Firdasari against Lee Yun Hwa and Lita Nurlita/Lilyana Natsir against Hwang Yu Mi/Ha Jung Eun. If INA is lucky enough, these 2 points can also be won.

However, Jun Jae Youn should beat Pia Zebadiah in the deciding tie.

it's funny how nana was pimped to be the best amongst the rest of women's single but in reality, she isn't. it's prolly because of her win agaisnt tina in sudirman cup which was 2 years ago. since then, she really hasnt done anything impressive.

Nana simply does not have the right attitude and posture to beat even players like WMC. Out of the 3 players sent to the Euro tourneys, Firda and Maria returned home with a gold and silver. Nana just won a couple of matches against unknown players. She lost to Huang Chia-Chi (which was beaten by Maria) and also Li Wenyan (lost to Firda).

I agree, she is "golden kid" of Hendrawan, overrated too much. Best rank because of a lot of sent to tournament without good results, best achievement is QF won by W/O. So weird when Hendrawan excused her when lost to Maria in Jakarta Open or lost to Anna Rice in HKG Open

Firda is best potential WS among INA WS players, taller and good attacking play. I wacth in Kejurnas against Yuan Kartika, she had much basically weakness in long rally. Well, for now we can celebrate for the women team achievement. Korea comes next. Slimmer chance, but we never say die, do we?

Simon's win is the most unexpected. He must have trained really hard to come this far. The stuff about people saying Chen Jin threw the game away is ********. Chen Jin does not struck me as someone who will throw a match away. As a matter of fact, I don't see any Chinese player with that attitude. They always tries their best and thrash the opponents when they can. I think we should give Simon the credit here. Granted, Simon is not the most consistent player, but he is not shabby when he is in top form. He beat Taufik before in Indonesian Open right after Taufik won the WC 2005. He has the skill, but he is not consistent. However, the second time they meet won't be easy. I will bet my last penny that Chen Jin will study and be well prepared for Simon the second time around.

Claim down... I did write "wonder", so I did not state it as a fact or anything close to that.

It is such a shock that consider Chen Jin recently defeated Taufik, and Simon lost to QBC of China in China open 1st round... whom would have thought that today's result would be such a shocking ending. I watched Simon's match at China open and it was just disappointing, and Chen Jin's match with Taufik showed Chen Jin was top player material.

I agree that Chen Jin(if he played seriously today) will definitely prepare hard for Simon before their next meeting(if that happens, indo needs to make it to SF)... today's result just blew my mind as I expected Chen Jin simply dominate Simon. Actually i wanted the match between Sony and Bao... too bad.:crying:

However, I do believe my point of LYB wanting to see how his 2nd doubles team measure up, makes sense... as there is still possibility that Fu/Cai may not defeat Kido/Setiwan next time, and 2nd doubles need to come up and play even if Chen Jin wins 2nd singles next time. I am not stating as a fact, just there is a possibility.;)

I didn't watch the games between INA vs. CHN, but I doubt that INA played very seriously, I don't like this kind of strategies though. Lius Pongoh was thinking whether they should play all-out against CHN in the group qualification or just do it once in the semifinal. which is more important off course.

It's disappointing, but INA is notorious for choosing their opponent. I don't know how serious INA played against China today, but INA had done that several times in the past. They will purposely lose to someone in the group match in order to meet a particular team in the later stage. NOW, I am really sad to say this, but the current INA team has little chance to defeat China in the team event considering how good China's lineup is. There is a chance if they go all out, but it is like 20% chance or even less.

The possibility of INA using Nova makes sense because Luluk is always the weakest link in Luluk/Alvent partnership. INA's coach probably want to pair Nova/Alvent to give them a chance to prepare for the showdown against China.

It looks promising though for Ladies division of INA. Now we also need to re-establish our superiority in Men division especially doubles. I heard they were going to ask Tony/Candra to play for Olympic 2008.

ya...

sutiyoso has officially asked chandra/tony to play under indonesia flag in olympic 2008 and Mr ciputra ( the owner of jayaraya badminton club, also he is a real estate tycoon) has also asked them , too

chandra has agreed to play again in olympic 2008 (only if he pairs up with tony), now PBSI must 'get' tony back to indonesia

i'm sure the 'mission' of getting back tony/chandra will be successful

I wonder if LYB really wanted to test his 2nd doubles team to find out how the team measure up to Indo's team, so he ordered CJ to simply give away the match... the result is just too shocking to be true.

ha..ha
CJ's fans try to find an excuse :)

accept the fact, simon has played better :D

CJ has a good first half of 2006, winning two titles including one 6 star, but not in good form for a while recently and failed to win any titles since. He is the only CHN players lost to non-CHN players at WC. I think he's just entering the bottle neck of his career path. Whether or not he could come out remains a question mark.

I am trying to learn from you guys, but it's harder for me since Chen Jin doesn't lose as often as Taufik, and I have to come up with something that you guys never used before, and that left me with not much but to come up with some very creative ones... by the way, I am not even a huge fan of Chen Jin, just shock simply because I always think Simon is not much of a good player consider his performance this year.:p

Even worse, Chen Jin kicked Taufik's behind in China open, then lose to Simon with that kind of score doesn't make much sense at all... unless you can say Simon is Way better than Taufik, but noooo... Simon lost in 1st round China open to QBC of china just less than 2 months ago....

wow, the guo & xie pair is amazing. A pair of stocky guys, they are quite quick and of course tons of smashing power. Took out alvin & luluk in 35 mins. Don't know why guo and xie is under cai and fu shadow.

simon santoso vs chen jin.

80% of points gained by simon was due to chen jin unforced errors. Chen jin seem to making lots of simple errors, easy smashes go out, not reading simon, push out, clear out, net shots just short. It seem CJ woke up on the wrong side of bed that day. Simon just need to keep the shuttle in play and CJ would give him the point. Simon overhead rear court smashes working well that day too.

Taufik Got Tired When Playing Against Lin Dan
By admin
SUnday, 03-Desember-2006, 11:11:40 14 klik

DOHA – The loss from his big contender Lin Dan last night wasn’t really taken seriously by Taufik Hidayat. The Indonesian first single admitted that he lost. “He played very well today, that he won the match,” said Taufik to the reporter after the match.

The 2006 Indonesian Open champion also admitted that he got tired when playing against Lin Dan who didn’t make much mistakes. “I really lost this time, but I will try to play better next time,” he said.

With the loss, the head-to-head between the two world badminton players now is 10-9 for Lin Dan. “I won that tough match. I’m very proud,” said Lin Dan.

He also thought that Taufik’s game last night wasn’t effective, as he didn’t face much difficulties winning the match. “During last night’s match, perhaps I was enjoying it. I managed to play consistently the whole time,” he said.

In the mean time, Simon Santoso admitted that his victory against Chen Jin last night was due to his aggressiveness since the beginning. That gave him the lead that couldn’t be caught by Chen Jin. “It’s proven in that match that he couldn’t do much,” he said.

Simon said that he had played Chen Jin before in junior. That time, the head-to-head was 1-1. He could win today because he played Chen Jin before in junior.
