I used to play with BK for many many years - back to when Darryl Yung and I were in Juniors.

In the mid-90s the quality tanked. The rapier was about the only one that was standout - but you could two identeical raquest that would swing competely different given the uneven graphite layering. My two eagles felt like two different raquets.

The new generation is much better. I found pretty much all of them to be too light for my liking, but the guys at my club seemed to find them quite good.

They also have some pretty funky designs and are very colorful.

I've seen varsity players as well as regular club players using BK rackets, and I used to use one myself. There's nothing bad about them, but if you are going to buy one, you have to be selective. Black Knight allows players to demo them in tournements they sponsor. So you actually get a good feel for the racket on the court before buying.

There are a few nice BK rackets actually that I demoed in October, and I also did a review earlier: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=341368#post341368

The SuperLight series: these are the the nanotech based rackets offered by BK. I personally prefer FeatherXL: oval head, 75 gram. Surprisingly powerful for a light racket. But of course it can't really compare with "tank" type of rackets. The highlight of the racket is that it allows you to react quickly because it is somewhat head light as well as overall light. I prefer this one over the Photon and the Ghost in terms of feel and control.

Black Knight's C2C series is good for exceptionally solid smashes with excellent control. The Shadow model is a bit head heavy, and Nanofire is a bit more even balanced. Somewhat better than my current AT500 in terms of power because it is easier to handle(being not too head heavy).

My main gripe about BK rackets is that the paint job have been too bland for my tastes. They've improved a bit for the C2C series, but the SL series and PC series kinda sucks in my opinion.

theres nothing wrong with blackknight.
blackknight has developed some of the best racquets i've ever seen.
its just that they have poor marketing like carlton and so its not popular. and being a canadian company makes it difficult to penetrate into the global market unlike carlton or yonex, etc.

techno is osmething you should avoid. i haven't seen anything cool from them. all institutional racquets...

I have a PC V65 and i find the paint job awesome. hmm. Also, i find it's a great racquet for power. Maybe too much...

Lol techno. My sister still uses one. I tried to get her to use my waaay lighter 40$ victor racquet that i don't use now, but she said no. Oh well...But it's weird seeing as my old victor responds way faster seeing it's lighter for the wrist, and my sister is defensive player and recieves some of my smashes easily. But, ya, techno is pretty much a recreational racquet.

I myself have been considering purchasing a PC-V65, however I was wondering what type of head the racket has? Is it oval or an isometric type head? I have been generally playing with Yonex Cab rackets and would prefer to have an oval racket.
