This is exactly what I mean when I say that the Asian games(badminton) is not as pretigous as some people claims it to be... the level of competition prior to semi-finals is just not competitive at all... with some exceptions.:p

Those one-sided matches could have easily been replaced with more competent players from Europe like Andrew Smith, Eric Pang, etc... then add onto the list with top ten players like Gade, kenneth.:D

As far as I can tell, those 'one-sided matches' were first round matches.

You have super high standards, by your standards, even the World Championships is not prestigious enough. If you look at the World Championship first round matches, you'll see plenty of one sided matches against 'unknown' Irish, Spanish etc players.

Let's have a look at some of the Asian Games Quarter-finals, which you claim are "just not competitive"

XD
(1) WIDIANTO N./Liliyana - ZHENG B./GAO L. - really, not competitive?
(2) LEE J. J./LEE H. J. - M TAZARI M. F./WONG P. T. - ditto?
(3) KOO K. K./QUAY S. L. - XIE Z./ZHANG Y - ditto?
(4) LEE Y. D./HWANG Y. M. - PRAPAKAMOL S./THOUNGTHONGKAM S. - ????

MS
(1) LIN D. - NG W. - How would adding Andrew Smith here help?
(2) LEE H. I. - HASHIM M. H - ditto
(3) HIDAYAT T. - BAO C. - goes without saying
(4) PONSANA B. - LEE C. W. - ditto
