Hey everyone!

I'll be going to the Philippines next week for Xmas (oh yeah!) and I'm planning to buy a few rackets over there since badminton stores are really scarce over here. Can somebody in the Philippines give me an idea on how much these following rackets cost?

1. Yonex Armortec 700 (or an 800-OF)
2. Yonex Carbonex 20
3. Yonex Nanospeed 9000 (either version)
4. Yonex Muscle Power 100 or 99

Thanks in advance.

Yonex rackets sold through chain stores here are quite expensive.
I'm not sure about current racket prices but the following should be a good estimate:
1. AT 700= P 12,000.00
2. Cab 20= P 5,000
3. ns9k= P16k
4. mp99= P10k
5. ti10 (old model)= P10k

*GBP 1=PhP 101 approximately

There are several vendors though who sell TH and TW coded rackets at significantly lower prices.

You can also try BCForumer Ants. He sometimes sells rackets at great prices. He occasionally sells JP and CH coded rackets.

If you're considering other brands they're available here too at more reasonable prices.

Send me a message when you're here. I'll hook you up with these vendors if you like.

Don't forget to bring your gear, we should play badminton when you're here.

The prices are a bit higher than over here, but I don't mind where a racket is made (after reading a few posts here a TH NS8k is £54!), it's like saying cars made in Germany are better than cars made in Japan... Not much difference! At most the differences would be slight, but 99% of the performance for quite abit less is fine.

Thanks, I'll be bringing my gear over to play against some of my cousins anyway :D

Here's a link to one of the popular shops in Manila:

Some enterprising folks buy rackets from Thailand or Taiwan and resell them (profit added of course). The following are the prices offered by one such person:

Nanospeed 9000 – 8,700php
8000 – 8100php
7000 – 7700php
6000 – 6900php

Armortec 800 of/de – 8000php
700 – 7500php

MP 100 – 7700php
99 – 7500php
88 – 6800php

TH, and TW are just distribution codes, these rackets are all made in japan. The quality should be the same.

Hey pumpkin, kumusta kabayan!

Do you have info on SOTX prices there, Woven-8 & 12 in particular? I'm be there around Feb and I'm looking to buy these 2 racquets for myself & a friend.

I'm interested in those SOTX racquets too, I've heard that the Woven-9 is right up there with Yonex's top end.

Sotx has quite a following here but it's not as available as yonex. I'm not very familiar with their pricing. I do know that their top range can be as expensive as Yonex. Woven 9 was about P7k a year ago (price should still be the same or cheaper).

I'll try to look up the prices.

Thanks, your info has been really useful!

I'll ask my relatives in HK if SOTX racquets are cheaper there.

Man that's expensive. P7K is around $140USD. Puppysports.com in HK has the Woven-9 for around $84USD.
