Just had a little knock around with the this model last night.
It was strung with BG85 at 23 lbs (I usually play cab 22 at 24lbs but use 23lbs for singles) so the strings and tension are the same.

It was an SS model.
Subjectively it feels much lighter than my cab 22 (some people say cab 22 is too light). Have to really concentrate on hitting the shuttle correctly to get a good length. Of course it feels faster when receiving shots. I was surprised that the racquet doesn;t feel very head heavy considering it is an SS version. The SA/SR versions would feel very light to me.

Also felt some transmission of vibration to my hand. It affect the shot.

Correction.

It does not affect my shot.
I had no chance to try this racquet under game conditions

Hi Chung

The Ti-Swing power is supposed to replace the iso-900 but it has more vibration and is simply not as good. That's what I was talking about when I said the Ti-mesh is purely cosmetic. I broke a ti-8 at the mesh and it just looks like a fancy strip of paper glued on. I can't see what difference it makes.

Incidentally I just read in Badminton UK magazine that the Indonesians were using Muscle Power 100. I tried it and it much less vibration than Ti-10 and just as much power. That's probably the only one of the new rackets that would tempt me away from cab-21. If Yonex gave that racket a slim shaft it would certainly be the best.

What is the pros and cons of slim shaft ?

From my own point of view I always felt slim shaft rackets are more responsive and powerful. I guess it really depends on your style of play. If you don't hit the shuttle very hard you may get more control out of a standard shaft racket.
The slim shaft rackets yonex produced -
Blacken -this had a slim steel shaft and still compares in power to today's rackets but not much control.
carbonex 8dx - great racket.
Carbonex 21 (many top players are still using it. Used by Park Joo Bong)
Boron 2 (Sun Jun uses this and I think Dong Jiong also but he seems to switch to iso-600/900 sometimes)
Iso-900 (Hoyer-Larsen)
Slim-10 (Gade uses it - nice racket but one clash in doubles and its gone)
Ti-7, Ti-10, Ti swing power

I think that's all the slim shaft rackets Yonex have produced.
If you compare carbonex-21 and carbonex-20 they are the same except the 21 has a slim shaft. The same can be said about the carbonex-8 and 8dx. The slim shaft versions are definately more powerful. The kick of the shaft is much more important in terms of power than wind resistance, material e.t.c. But of course the racket must also be correctly balanced.
If the racket is long such as cab-20L, Ti-8, muscle power 100, the extra length gives these standard shaft rackets more kick but may be detrimental to reaction shots (I'm undecided on that point though).

regarding "long" rackets, one of my main rackets right now is a iso900SR. it is long head heavy but at the same time, light. i find that the combination is good for defense and drives. but unfortunately, lack a bit on power.

Hi all,

I've noticed many people in this discussion group mention the Carbonex 21. I've used a Carbonex 21 SP for the last 10 years, and love it... unfortunately, the shaft seems to be starting to warp (uknown reason... carbon graphite shafts shouldn't warp!). I was wondering whether this racquet is still in production, because I cannot find it in any stores where I live (Toronto, Canada).

So, I've ended up buying a ISO Swing Power 500, and it's okay... I've only played about 40 mins with it, so I may not be used to it yet.
