Does anyone like these tpes of Yonex Iso racquets. The vari-frame racquets are kind of like a "sub-series" to the isometric racquets. For instance, one of my favourite yonex racquets, the Iso 96 VF! (Hint: VF is an abbreviation for Vari-Frame). The only difference between a regular iso and a VF is that the VF's have a slightly larger head and also that they are slightly lighter than a typical Isometric racquet. I strongly recommend the Vari-Frames. They are also usually sold for pretty cheat prices despite their quality.
*Note: From my understanding, the Iso 96 VF is the only Vari Frame racquet that features the Titanium Mesh component.

the vari frame series racquets suck(sorry josh), but the vari frame feature certainly does not suck. from what i know... vari frame has a box shape at the both half of the racquet, and an aerodynamic shape at the top half of the racquet. the box shape is supposely to give better feel and control, and aerodynamic shape is for swing speed. I believe the muscle power series has similar frame shape as the vari frame series.

i am not sure abt this whole VF thing, but then i tried playing with it for a while b4 i decided to sell it.... it's ok actually, but i find that it lacks power and all... it's more towards a beginner/intermediate player i guess...

BTW, i owned a vf97....
there is always something called personal preference, and one more thing to note, why isnt there any of the international player use VF rackets?

Well I guess from all the above perspectives, the Vari frames "suck" so maybe that's what the professionals think as well. You're right that they do lack power but I do like the feel of the Vari-Frames.

yup, I use to own the iso96VF back then. But now I have grown to love the head heavt rackets like the Ti10. I will go back to the Iso96VF once in a while, but when the racket has some lead weight on it.

The Iso96VF is amazing once you put a piece of lead tape on it, but then again, it would destroy the balance.

PS. I love the feel of the 96VF too!!!

PPS. My 96VF is still growing strong after all the abuse it has taken..... :)

I've got an Iso 86vf and even though it's not as powerful as my Airblade Rasmussen it has way superior feel and a very satisfying "bang" when smashing. It's also extremely durable. I can't understand why so many people dislike the iso vf series, they really make it fun to play.

I don't think these VF rackets necessarily suck. People like different rackets due to personal preference...... So some people may like the Ti-10 when others say its crap......

I have an 86VF. At first I thought it sucked, but then I put some BG80 on it - now I really like it (and it looks freaky cool with luminous yellow strings :D ).

The balance is very head light and the shaft is quite flexible - defensive style, but you can get good power by putting your wrist into it.

The feel is awesome, it's very easy to get tight drops and net shots. The racquet is especially good for playing a deceptive style in singles because the head velocity/direction can be changed easily ...also the sweet spot is massive, you can't miss it

p.s. I also think it has a very satifying "bang" when smashing ;) Durability wise though, I don't think it's great - mine is out of action while I find some epoxy resin to glue the handle cap back on, and I know someone who snapped his (but he does smash VERY hard).

iso90vfs also had ti mesh.

the vf series aren't garbage as most people put them out to be.
but then again, its mostly determined by skill and style.

when i tried it, the biggest problem with the racquet was the strings.
so i'm sure with a change of string, most people will stop complaining. ;)

I've been playing badminton for over 20 years, last year, I bought 2 Armotecs and two MP99s, but my favorite rackets are still my VF90s (with titanium mesh).

My favorite used to be the old Ti SwingPower range, but when they got discontinued, I looked for a new racket. I didn't really buy the VF90s as a serious racket. I was on holiday and needed to play with some friends so I bought 2 in a shop because they were cheap, but now I use them more than any of my other rackets.

I've tried some of the lower rackets in the VF range and they really are heavy and powerless, but the VF90 is certainly a good racket. I've had mine for about 3 years now and I love them.

They have recommended string tensions of just 16-18 lbs, but I use mine with BG80 at 26lbs and have no problems.
