My strength-pro Training-racket came in the mail today!
Yippie!
So far I’ve only test-swung it, will see tonight how things work…
About me:
I’m Jerby, 17 years of age, and play ~8 times a week. My playing level is B around here, though power-play isn’t my srong-suit…
I bought the strength-pro to excersise my wrist to get a faster/more explosive stroke…
Initial impressions/measurement:
-the yellow-version looks very cool, with yellow overgrip…
-The weight is 160grams…I’ll take Matthew’s word for it ;)
-the balance is at ~310mm, with karakal-PU-supergrip as a standard grip (good cushioning!)
-the racket is 675mm long, but the shaft is very short, while the rackethead is very long
-stiffness is normal, though hard to compare with such a weight…
Swinging certainly isn’t easy, but it sure is an effective exercise/warm-up tool. Just to check, for fun: swing it backhand drive 10 times…switch to my 2U woven-11.
GOOD LORD: my woven 11 feels like a 5U!
It feels really weird: when you pick up the SP it feels 1.5-2 times heavier than my w11..but when you switch back if feels my w11 is 3 times lighter!
I’ll be using it all week, and longer, I’ll try and update a bit…
A bit about www.strength-pro.com (http://www.strength-pro.com/) (not affiliated, just a customer) The service is excellent. The post had a freak-accident with my first racket (got lost, though Matthew had the correct address) and he send me a replacement before the first one was returned to sender! Great service, mailing-speed is also pretty good!
*what I’d like to see in the next version:
-yellow string
-Yellow standard grip
-brighter yellow racket
-Higher standard tension, fi you're nuts enoguh to spend ~$100 on a training-tools you'll most likely string 24lbs yourself..not 18lbs
-shinier racket, we need Glitter! :p
NOTE: I know there're lost of training-racket-topics...but I don't want to raise any dead, sending notifications to 50 people who aren't interested;)
