Hi

I have a carlton aerogear 900fx. I am looking for a spare or replacement racket just incase mine breaks or is out of commission for a while. I am looking for something really similar to the 900fx, but I dont know what racket is similar to it. Aerogear has been discontinued so i doubt ill find another of the same racket, i heard airblade has been discontiuned too. And for carltons new series, the AS, i heard they were stiff rackets?

Can anyone help me find another racket similar to the one i have? i really dont care what brand as long as it plays good.

Um, i'm not too familiar with Carltons like i said before but i can reccommend you the Carlton Aerogear 700FX, it may be lower end than your AB900 but its an excellent racket. I used to keep borrowing it from my friend till he broke it.....

Or if your looking for a good Yonex racket, Ti-10!!! ;)

I'd suggest the Airblade 900. They are very similar (I have used both) although the Aerogear is a bit more robust. Judging from some recent posters you might also want to check out the new AS-Ti model.

As an alternative I would suggest the Forza Ti Tech 600 Special, which has a similar triple-taper profile and weight distribution as the AG 900 and AB 900.

Good luck!

Kain, I asked Carlton to describe the differences between the Aerogear 900 and the Airblade 900, and they told me there was very little difference, other than cosmetically. In fact, they informed me that British pro Simon Archer could not tell them appart, performance-wise.

Be sure to check out the balance on the AB900 versus your old 900FX - This year Carlton changed factories from a Chinese one to one in Taiwan (presumably because of QC problems in China). The two otherwise identical racquets do not have the same balance - a friend has an older, Chinese made AB 900 with the same strings as mine and one of the two racquets (I think it was my Taiwanese AB900 but I can't remember specifically) is slightly more head heavy.

I would recommend the Titanium Tech 600 Special which play very similar to the Carlton but you will probably find that it hits even harder as the racquet is stiff and light like the Carltons. You can look at it at the: www.prizmsports.com
