MSQ-1 to take on Eric Pang in R32
Rather weak section. John Moody, Hong Ji Hoon and Roman Spitko contend for the spot.
Prediction: Hong Ji Hoon with homeground advantage

MSQ-2 to take on Chan Yan Kit in R32
Expect a showdown between Shon Seung Mo and Wong Choong Hann although James Chua and Yousuke Nakanishi have outside chances
Prediction: Wong (even though Shon has home crowd support)

MSQ-3 to take on Ng Wei in R32
Expect a Tan Chun Seang and Bobby Milroy showdown
Prediction: Milroy (although you cannot underestimate Tan)

MSQ-4 to take on Kuan Beng Hong in R32
Ronald Susilo vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro in the cards. Again! except this time, Ronald may not be so lucky to get direct entry to the main draw. Lee Cheol Ho can play spoiler but unlikely
Prediction: Sony

Kim In Woo received a walkover from Bobby Milroy (wonder why). Kim v Tan Chun Seang for Q3.

Ronald suffered a shocking loss to Shon Wan Ho. It's Sony v Shon for Q4.

I guess it's one of those LYB's tactical withdrawals.

I'm tired of all these China players pulling out at the last moment. All it does is just screw up the draw because then top players aren't spread evenly across. BWF should impose some penalty for these sort of action, maybe minus some ranking points...

I feel they are really sick or unable to play. I don't see any tactical reasoning for pulling out in the first round.

I feel they are really sick or unable to play. I don't see any tactical reasoning for pulling out in the first round.

This happens to China players much much more often than for players from any other country, so I really can't believe there is any other reason..

The obvious tactical reason is that China wants all their players to take top rankings. Had ZN not withdrawn, Zhu Lin would have run into her in semi final. Now the path is clear for her to make it to finals.
Of course it's easier to withdraw in the first round, rather than play a few games n suddenly withdraw as that would be more suspicious.

One question though, is the any penalty if a player looses a game ? , for ex, if ZN plays on and looses to Zhu Lin, how will ZN be penalized ?

Three singles matches in a day is a bit too much. I think two should be the cap.

Wong CH had to beat Yousuke Nakanishi and then Ahn Hyun Suk (who received a walkover from a Ghana player) and finally had to face Shon Seung Mo (who received two consecutive walkovers before that). Even playing Shon on level terms is not easy.

its not fair for WCH in that sense isn't it.... having need to play 3 match in ONE single day... if the opponent played in 3 matches as well then its alright cuz its fair.. but Shon got 2 walkovers n only need to beat WCH to get to the main draw..
its not fair.... BWF might need to review this matter over...

perhaps qualifying should be divided into 2 days... better in that way..

There is nothing BWF can do about the walkovers. It is just your bad luck that your opponent get walkovers and you don't.

But I think qualifying should be divided into one and a half days. For qualification draws that need three rounds, the final round should be played on the morning session of Wed (R32 day).

Come to think of it,they shouldn't complain. Their matches are likely to be easy, warm-up matches; they have advanced court condition exposure advantage and they will meet stone-cold first-round opponents.
However I don't think they will win KO, esp if KKK plays deep into XD with WPT. There's only so much you have in the tank ,no matter what.

I'm not saying they should complain, just weird that they had to qualify after having won MO last week. That is in reply to someone else who said Fischer/Andersen had to qualify after semifinals in MO last week. I'm not saying that this is BWF's fault either. Rules are rules, but I think some rules need to change.

Anyway, it's fine for KKK/TBH because as luck had it, they only had to play one match today against a Mongolian pair. But like yannie said, not so lucky for WCH and TCS, who had to play fresh opponents (all their opponents received walkovers) the whole day.

Try to be more logical, 'extended court condition acclimatization' & 'advanced court condition exposure' would be applicable to MDQ as well as MSQ.

kwun, this may sound strange but may i request that the ban be lifted for 'bigmojo'.(Besides, I wanted to reply his last post but couldn't do it because he lost his right of reply)
My last two posts were written in a rush and hence came across as terse(there was no time to add in a 'ctcad softener' ) so bigmojo reacted accordingly, like in Newton's third(?) law of equal and opposite reaction.
'bigmojo' has a big problem with style but at least he has some substance. Substance is harder to come by as it takes a long time to build up ,if at all. Style can be modified fairly easily and steadily, without having to go to the extent of 'My Fair Lady'.
I remember when I first came on board, my bluntness rankles not a few members. Took me a while to learn how to behave like Tony Blair in front of The Queen. Of course ,my unpaid teachers are masters of courtesy like ants, ctcad, Han, etc.
As I seem like the 21st blow that unintentionally brought down 'bigmojo', I'm prepared to be the substitute for him.

This is very magnanimous of you, pjswift.

I observe that some of bigmojo's posts do have substance.

When participating in forums, we should learn to sometimes agree to disagree and not to get personal in our arguments by casting disparaging remarks about the person or the country he is from. As they say, tolerance and kindness are virtues to strive for.

I support pjswift's appeal to give bigmojo another chance.

just like to clarify that it is not the substance that i am against. we try our best not to curb any opinions expressed in the forum (unless if it is outrageous ones, of course). however, we do care about the manner in which the opinion is expressed. among those, rudeness, insults and personal attacks are deemed to be destructive to the general harmony of this forum and thus we have little tolerance of it.
