Yes yes Hafiz won
He managed to fix his yo yo string and pulled it off

He should not fix his yo yo, should throw it away. Yoyo is not what we want.

His matches so far really yoyo, up and down, but luckily for him, the ending of the game is on his up side.

spchu
01-26-2007, 02:51 AM
I still don't know why people think it's hard to come from behind in the PAR system. I have seen many comebacks.

I guess it work both ways easy to catch up- also easy for opponent to get the last point and since Hafiz hasnt been known for his fighting spirit, which is why its very heartening to see him coming back from 17-20 down.

abedeng
01-26-2007, 02:51 AM
But the defences was easily compromised, 7-5 to CHN.
CJ musters a better challenge, 2-2.

azabaz_ipoh
01-26-2007, 03:02 AM
sometimes i think we critisize our player too much. i believe they are giving their best. but they are playing with our hopes and dreams on their shoulder and it is very hard sometimes not to be so critical of their performance. *sighs* this is because, we could never do what they do and we wish they will fulfill our fantasy.

Keep on giving all your cheap jibes for Hafiz.I pray that someone let him knows about it,so that he can prove you all wrong. For me,he is the only one left in the KO to lift the title.BIG DREAMS but that's what we are entitled.

Yeah a lot of people have given up on Hafiz already. But that's very unfair. He's obviously played very well in this tournament to get to the SF so just wait until the game tomorrow to judge him. I believe he has a chance. I think Chen Jin is more likely to win in the end but Hafiz always has a chance.

But u would be disappointed too if All Blacks turn out to be All blanks in the international Rugby arena. Are you a New Zelander?
Yeah I'm an NZer. I don't follow the Rugby too much though :). Still yeah I would be disappointed if they COMPLETELY bombed out and didn't achieve anything. But I think it's a little over the top to call LCW and Hafiz "lousy". They are both great players in my opinion. A little off form perhaps but still great players.

OH... But From Indonesia don't have right...

must recruit the better coach.. the coach must have good reputation like Rexi..hhaaaa...

If I was in charge (and we had the money) I probably would :D. I'm proud of Daniel Shirley's international achievements though, if we had more players like him I think we'd be alright :).

in MO, LCW said that he was glad that he lost because now ppl won't call him 'jaguh kampung'...funny, he should stop ppl from calling him 'jaguh kampung' by winning outside msia not by losing in msia....

Look, no player set out to play crap. Even in MO07, it's quite clear from his slower speed that his injury is still lingering. I hope LCW and Coaches will have the good sense to rest him completely and tell him to skip that national tournament in Feb.Or AE07. Choose one.
A total and complete rest is what he needs now to rejuvenate him. Otherwise, he'll keep on losing and even to lesser players!

haiz..
chong wei is turning into mr. quarter-finalist...
with two consecutive quarters...
luckily hafiz is still the yoyo king...
this time he bounce it high and not drop to the ground...
maybe koo/tan will be the finalist pair with 3 appearance and all in final...
anyway...
hope the best to malaysia player in KO ^^

What? After two quarterfinals, he becomes mr quarterfinalist? Give him a break. It's not as if he's not trying.

This is what i couldn't understand. Despite his injury, his still entered the national tournament. Why IS it so important to keep his unbeaten record on home soil rather than nursing his injury? He might exagerate his injury as well.

a good sportman will know tat losing is losing no matter watsoever the reason is....it's just like the performance of Hafiz before this, yoyo'ing around. We supporters of LCW shouldnt give ourselves excuse of why he lost again this time because of this, this n this.....He is just not as good as the others, thats why he lost. Maybe he got lucky before this.....but not anymore.

now koo/tan are malaysia's biggest hope of winning a title in KO....
but im not counting out Hafiz 100% as he is famous for surprising(sometimes good, sometimes bad surprises) us.....

so lets all giv them our full support n BASH the hell out of them when the time comes..hehe....

btw, watching hafiz play really makes me nervous..he sometimes win a point in the most brilliant fashion and then he loses the next point in the most frustrating way ever....

so to everyone watching hafiz play tomorrow(and maybe on sunday also), make sure there arent any glass items nearby..haha....juz a frendly reminder..

Wow! Haven't been following but I just went to Tournament Software and found that:

+Tony/Candra beat Fu/Cai. Congrats! USA! USA!

+Nothing new, looks like it's going to be another all Chinese WS Final. :p

+Chen Jin beat LCW, no small feat. Could be another all Chinese MS Final. :D

+XD: status quo. I say time and time again, Robertson/Emms is a force to be reckoned with. And Gao Ling has got to be the best women's mixed player with recent...maybe even distant memory. As long as you pair her up with a guy that can keep hammering the bird, GL will win.

Well, he deserves the drop. Perhaps it will take some pressure off him.

Yes, I agreed Lee Chong Wei ranking should be dropped, I think he's more like 4-8 based on his current form. I don't think his lost has anything to do with pressure, I think the Chinese players figured out how to play against him. The only way to break the Chinese wall is have multiple capable bodies like Malaysia men's doubles, Team Chinese is tasting the same madicine in MD department with only Fu/Cai.

KKK/TBH rose to #50. Still not good enough to guarantee direct main draw entry, but at least guarantee entry to qualification rounds.
I think by the time Korea Open is over, KKK/TBH ranking should rise further as they are already in the SF. I hope they do well in All England.

so now the bashing begins when a player plays badly for a few tournaments? what happened to SUPPORTING YOUR PLAYERS??? my friends?

Cai/Fu wins some and lose some, Bao wins some and lose some, every player from every country wins some and lose some tournaments, as there is only one champion afterall. do you see us bash them when they don't make it to the top when they are in bad form? NO! we sure are disappointed, but we still SUPPORT THEM, in the least by NOT criticizing their loss. i am quite disappointed by the attitude of some fans here. i think some of you guys needs to rethink how a fan is supposed to behave.

yeah, i agree with you kwun.. it's always the case, when our players start winning, they will cheer and create a hooray for them.. but when the players lose, people will start critisising them.. definately, these are not true supporters.. true supporters will support their players no matter how good or bad they perform.. go on chong wei! see you in All England in march.. :)

I didn't even expect Hafiz to get pass Ng Wei to begin with...:p Afterall, Hafiz has been playing so bad, that even Ng Wei defeated him in Doha team event.:D:D:D.. but if he does break the great wall in this Korea Open, it will be a bigger story than Gade winning Malaysia Open after being hospitalized prior to the tournament.:p My friend, your prediction is starting to take shape. Hafiz in semi finals. Let's see it happen later today, hehehe:D

Agree wholeheartedly. Anyone can jump on the bandwagon when someone's a winner.

A true fan is one that supports his/her player through thick and thin. Especially through thin. When your player is at rock bottom and you still support him/her, you are a true fan.

Also, now and then it's good to congratulation your opponents. I rarely see that here. :p In every other sport I played, in the U.S., win or lose, we congratulate the opponent. :)

Disagree, losing 21-19, 21-19 to one of the bests is nothing to be disappointed about. With the NSS, it's even more of a fine line between winning and losing.

Fans must also allow that the opponents are very good players. We should support our favourite players when they are trying their best. We should chide them when they just give up, but we must give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, the player is the one who suffers the loss the most.

Fans must also allow that the opponents are very good players.

Badminton players should be more like American College Football Coaches. They always give high praise to their opponent before the games even if the opponent isn't that good.

Why?

Simple.

If you win, you "beat" a good team. Good for your rankings.

If you lose and you bashed your opponent, what does that make you? After all, you lost to them. :p

Agree with kwun that we should support the players through thick and thin. We shouldn't call them 'lousy' players or Mr Quarter FInalist just bcoz of the recent defeats. There is no so-called lousy player in my opinion. For Lee Chong Wei, though i am disappointed with his poor run of form, i still support him, my most favourite MS player at this moment. But i think that Li Mao and LCW should do some analysis rite now and make some improvement. AND i don't agree with him playing in the tournaments before with injury along. It could exagerate his injury.

..(just finished reading the rest of the posts)..
phew, well, what can i say..It was another thrilling day, full of pent-up emotions, up til the LCW vs. CJ match:cool: ...Even the server was affected by the excitement as, i believe, it crashed momentarily last night as well:p...Anyways:
- I didnt' notice any big upsets on the QF day...as all the projected winners were able to squeeze thru..But there were lots of close and exciting matches nonetheless..;)
- The match between LCW vs. CJ sounded great. I know LCW has been battling a bit of a nagging injury, but to see him fight all the way til the 3rd set must be quite encouraging. So, M'sian fans, don't let his lost put you down. It's still early in the yr and he still has time to make it up this yr.;)
- Of couse, what else can we say abt the veteran pair of Tony & Candra. After being denied a title last week in the MO, being hungry to win this KO would be an understatement, IMO.;)
..once again, thanks again for all the entertaining play by play and scores update:)..and looking fw to more of the same on the SF day..;)
