hey all,

im thinking of purchasing a pair of yonex shb-99M, but i have no idea what size to get. also there are no badminton stores anywhere near me, so i have to purchase them online (hoping to get the size right the first try). i wear a 9-9.5US, depending on the shoe. do these shoes fit true to size, or do they run bigger/smaller? if anyone has any advice, id greatly appreciate it.

regards

i wear 9.5US normally for other shoes and the shb99s fit very well with the same size.

I actually had a very different experience with them. I normally wear sie 12 for new balance trail shoes, 11.5 for rebok running shoes and only 10.5 for my sh-99.

Agree. I normally wear Adidas, Nike, Asics Tiger, New Balance Size: 13.0. But in the 99-LE, size: 12.0 was on par.

So, I believe Size: 10.0 or less, the size is about the same, for Size: 10.0 and higher, you need to try the shoe.

I thought Yonex was going backwards in numbers...

...89 then 99...now 90...what's next?

Lol, in math class right now so this might sound dorky, but they will come out with SH-3.14 next with 180 degree power boast or something =)

no, actually, he's correct...
98 + 10 = 99
99 - 9 = 90
90 + 10 = 100!

so that means the one after the shb100 will be...
100-9 = 91
the coveted shb91!!!!

but a couple generations later, it'll be the shb101, then what? it'll be the shb92?
BUT THE SHB92 ALREADY EXISTED! PARADOX! ITS THE END OF THE UNIVERSE AS WE KNOW IT!

and i think he had a typo too.
i'm sure he meant either 89 or 98 with that post.
but regardless, no, 89 and 98 are both discontinued. long time ago.

I was just wondering if you are supposed to buy badminton shoes so that they fit like regular shoes, or buy them a little bigger because of all the sudden starts/stops that are made on the court.

Fit regularly, actually I personally buy them slightly small because they seem to give quite a bit after wearing in.
