Yumo Badminton Centre will be hosting a team tournament on Feb 24th (and Feb 25th, if necessary)
Who? YOU! And a minimum of 9 friends (5/5) [maximum of 12].
What? Playing as a team against other teams, 5 matches will be played (1 MS, 1WS, 1 MD, 1WD, 1MXD). Each match will be best of 3 sets, rally 21 points. Each registered player must play a minimum of 2 games (this rule subject to change pending attendance)
Why? Because it’s a chance to play with many of your friends together in the game we love. Its more than just badminton, it also tests out your management skills! Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the winners, but there are also prizes for the team with the best team spirit, and the team that displays the best sportsmanship.
Even more reasons to join:
- A customized t-shirt will be made for each registered player (you design the logo and name, we print it for you)
- each team is guaranteed 3 matches
For more details, check http://www.yumo.ca (http://www.yumo.ca/) !
So form that team and come for some fun - all ages welcome!
Hope to see you there! :)

I'm totally confused on the format (maybe more coffee will help?).
I don't get how
(a) everybody will compete 2 games in round robin & play-offs
(b) each player can only play one event
(c) there is a varying number of team members but yet only 5 categories
they seems to conflict with each other.
Team w/ 10 Players (5xwomen 5xmen)
- you can only assign one category (MS WS MD WD MX) for each player?
With 12 Players
- are you saying the extra 2 players are also assign on category? but then you have too many players, unless they act as subs/spares IF the team wins their first round?
How will the round robin work to determine the play-offs?
Cheers!

Hi there,
Let me try to explain the tournament a bit better.
(a) everybody will compete 2 games in round robin & play-offs
- We will have a maximum of 10 teams in the tournament. They will be split up into 2 pools with 5 teams on each side playing round robin. So therefore there will be 4 team games in the round robin. To ensure every player participates, they will have to play atleast 2 of these round robin games!
(b) each player can only play one event
- Each player can only play in one event for each round.
(c) there is a varying number of team members but yet only 5 categories
they seems to conflict with each other.
- Since there will be, eg. 4 round robin games, each player will participate in 2 of those TEAM games. In each of the team games, each player are only allowed to play in one event.
After the round robin, the top two teams from each pool will advance to semi finals in ladder format.
Hope this helped ya out!

Just a quick question. Do we have to have 5 guys and 5 girls or it can be however we form the team as long as we have enough people to play in all categories? Since the entry form requires that there has to be 5 males and 5 females.
