It's about time to ask John-W for our Return Match with Wesley !!!

I will do this myself. :):):)

BTW, John-W and Anne-W will be celebrating with us the Chinese New Year 2007 Banquet/Dinner on Saturday 10-Feb-2007.

So I will be asking John-W at the CNY Celebration, when Wesley wants their Return Match.

It will also depend on when/how the JT Ultra's and Highvale's arrangement with us, their Return Matches.

May members@ccc also do some brainstorming on this matter.

I have sent a mail to John-W, regarding our CCC Vs Wesley Return Match.

I have suggested to you that perhaps our Return Friendly Match (to be held at CCC@Waverley) should be held during the closure of MSAC because of the Grand Prix 2007.

This will give your Wesley members a chance to play while Wesley Badminton is closed.

The proposed details for our Return Friendly Match are;
When: 7:30pm-10:30pm, Friday 16-Mar-2007
Where: CCC Badminton, Waverley Christian College, 1248 High Street Road, Wantirna South

Our memberships have increased since our first match. And I would be selecting the top players from our new memberships to participate in this match.

I emailed you last Friday 9th March to say that I expected that the friendly match would proceed - I just needed to confirm the players - most of whom I spoke to last Monday week.

To date I have got:-
John Weisheit, Jack Parr, Michael Tomic, Vien, Alister Lath.

Cliff Wiltshire and Robert Quenter said that they would also come - I have not heard back from them apart from the Monday night invitation at social.

I also emailed Steven Ho and Doug Knee, neither of whom were present on Monday 5th March - however I have not heard back from them.

At this stage I have probably got 7 players, but not sure about Doug or Steven.

Badminton Asia is a very nice magazine. Managed to read a copy when I was in Southern Star last week. It's really thick with plenty of pictures, interviews with coaches and players, equipment reviews and badminton academy contact numbers around the world. I think about 150 pages. Unfortunately, I have the same experience as LilyC. Worse, I emailed them to subscribe but didn't even get a reply. :mad: Next time, I am going to create a fake email account named Lily or Lisa or Stephanie before emailing those idiots. ;) :p

Friday 16th March 2007

A fun night was had by all players - 3 teams from Wesley & 5 teams from CCC, with 1 team of CCC players representing 'Wesley' for the night.
Some close matches with Wesley wanting a future re-match. A celebratory after match supper held at a local chinese restaurant.

Unfortunately CCC team attire wasn't in production for this match... maybe for next match!

Results:
Total CCC game wins=13
Total Wesley game wins = 3
Total points: CCC - 319, Wesley 219
Closest game: 2 x games 21-20
Biggest margin game: 21-4
Play of the day: Goes to Ketut, with a dive from Mid court to get a shuttle landing on the 'yellow' line. Excellent effort Ketut!
