It's about time to ask our members@ccc for our Return Match with Highvale !!!

BTW, Highvale has not replied yet, if they are coming to celebrate with us, the Chinese New Year 2007 Banquet/Dinner on Saturday 10-Feb-2007.

But could you start asking members during this Friday Session, who would be interested in playing the Return Match?

Highvale Return Match will be played on Friday 11-May-2007.

Yes, that is 12 weeks from now... but I like it.

This will give CCC, especially Captain hkhung, plenty of time to prepare for it.

CCC can now try out our different Doubles Combinations and Singles Selection for this event.

We will follow the previous Match Schedule of 16 Doubles Matches. But we will now add in 4 Singles Matches, making a Total of 20 Matches for the event.

More details will be released later. :):):)

Our match with Highvale could be on Saturday 5/12/19-May-2007.

We might play on 2 of the 3 Saturdays mentioned above... in other words, 2 matches.

And this time, we will play @Highvale home ground and not at our CCC@Waverley home ground.

Highvale is based at Highvale Secondary College, Capital Avenue, Glen Waverley, just 5 minutes drive from our CCC@Waverley.

When we meet at our CCC Sessions, I will show you on the Street Directory exactly where Highvale is located.

So...... hkhung, being the captain, please start to organise your CCC team.

Unfortunately, you have graduated to Section 2 in our Handicapped System. :):):)

As we have said at our Suppertime@CCC, we will categorise our players into
3 Sections;
Section 1 = Handicapped @ -8, -6 and -4
Section 2 = Handicapped @ -2, 0 and +2
Section 3 = Handicapped @ +4, +6 and +8

The Highvale Team is only as strong as our CCC Section 3, therefore, only our Section 3 players will be involved.

However, you will be involved when CCC plays a club that has a team which is as strong as our CCC Section 2.

a. Chris, does it mean that i should start asking everybody in section 3 first

b. since i am in section 2, does it mean that other people in section 3 should have preference first before me?

Unfortunately, I will be in Shepparton for 3 weeks starting from next week for my rural placement, so I won't be able to participate. :(

With your question, I think you are right... seems like Chris wants to give priority to section 3 people first... because it's won't be "fair" for the Highvale Team.

Btw, how come Edward-C is in section 3? He's a skilled player! :confused:

Why 2 events ???
About 11 of our 40 Friday Social members@ccc are in Section 3, and CCC@Highvale also have 11 players about the same skill level. So we thought we will play twice... ensuring that all 11 players from each venue can participate in this Friendly Match. :):):)

Bad, almost all player who came to Highvale were +8 players. Helmut, Karen, Hans, Me + Monica. If i remember rite, Hans+Karen never ever move away from +8.

Out of those 5 people, only Helmut+me have done coaching, these children has been with Chris for one year.

TO tell you the truth there was a match that Edward-C+Chris won ONLY 21-19.

Just reading the posts here to see what's happening this Saturday with those little friends of ours at Highvale..... so they'll be meeting our Section 2 players, eh?

I think that they've improved very much since we last saw them (or since I last saw them, sometime last year) and also the CCC team - Section 3 players - were playing quite poorly. Being mostly (or all...?) +8 players, we really struggled through each match and left feeling unsatisfied but having a good laugh about being the bottom of the bottom (of CCC sections).

Though I'm sure that they won't need it, GOOD LUCK to Section 2 players for Saturday night and HAVE FUN! :D
