I remember when flandy told me when they won the Japan Open they began to train together only one week bfore the tournament ..
Now flandy and vita are going until beijing 08 .. and i hope the best for this pair ! I hope they can take the gold because both are great and nice players ..

:cool: ...for those who don't know, actually Vita was partnered with Nova W. prior to her injury(shoulder, i believe??) which forced her to undergo an operation. They were doing quite well, as a pair, but she succumbed to a shoulder injury. During her injury and recuperation period, Nova was then partnered with Lilyana. After that, as most of you already know, the rest is history.
After she was cleared to practice and join the squad again, Vita had no idea who her new partner will be. But now, who knew, Vita has a new partner in Flandy (who also lost his long time doubles pair in Eng Hian last yr)..and so far the new partnership has been going quite well..;) :cool:

Don't forget that flandy used to be a mixed double player and he entered the OG96 in Atlanta.
But the comparison with the pair Hian/Limpele and Marissa/Limpele is not totally true ahaha Flandy and Eng Hian won many tournaments together, they were top seed in the OG2000, and flandy told me before the OG they won everything and beat all the best opponent ..
well Flandy is not partnering vita since a long time .. maybe they can also bring their game at a higher level ! .. we never know ^^

Maybe starting September 25th.

Means they'll stay in Indonesia most of the time, then fly to Denmark to play league matches, then fly back again.

However, Vita/Butet's performance against the Chinese WD pairs are indeed breathtaking and it WILL BE HARD for both players to play in both disciplines :cool:

..yes, they'll be hard-pressed to compete in both disciplines, let alone to grab Golds in '08 Olympics..But i think, IF Vita & Lilyana can maintain some kind of consistency and stay healthy, i wouldn't be surprised if they can snatch a medal, be it silver or bronze, in next yr's Olympics..And if both or either can get a medal in their respective disciplines (WD and/or XD), that would already be a wonderful accomplishment---a Gold, esp. in WD, might be a bit unrealistic of a goal....but who knows?!?!..:confused::rolleyes:;)

Gao Ling is a different breed all-together. She is one of the best. I'm suprised sometimes people still ask me who is Gao Ling.. all they know is Lindan.

I think Vita/Flandi best bet in the Olympic next year is Bronze. Dont think they can go for Gold. China is too strong and don't discount the europeans. INA Mixed pair might end up with nothing. There are alot alot of contenders as well. For Malaysia.. hmmmm... personally i dont think we have any chance at the podium. It will be lucky if we have.
