these seem to look very similar to the shb99mx just slightly colour changed thats all.

I guess this is late reply. Anyway, these are NOT variants of shb99mx. I liked them a lot, but we're all built differently. If you prefer lowcut shoes, like all badminton shoes sold in the US, you might not like them. I loved the ankle support. Midcut Asics badminton/squash shoes feel even more comfortable and less stressful on the knees.
