If both meet in the final, I bet ZN would win to seal her legendary status as AE is the only missing trophy in her war chest and a retirement gift after all, ZN has made CHN proud with her achievements...:p

Several things unexpected:

1) China is so dominant
2) Korea comes up in 2nd
3) So called badminton powerhouses Indonesia and Malaysia are almost negligible. It is really a surprise.

Gao Ling has won 9 times, more than anyone else. Huang Sui has won 6 times. Kim also won 6 times. But they are all doubles. For singles, Ye ZY 3 times, Lin Dan, Chen Hong, Gong ZC and Xie XF all 2 times. All Chinese...

I wonder if Gao Ling herself can actually keep track of all the titles she wins, it is simply crazy.

And KDM also has 6 titles.

I'll be really happy if she can. :)
But in fact this is the "must". 100% I bet. hehe:D

(GaoLing is my idol so don't doubt if you see I posted only about her):p

PS. I'm a new BC member. Nice to meet you esp GaoLing fans.

Actually the All England started in 1899 with MD, WD and XD, and from 1900 MS, WS, MD, WD and XD.
The AE has prestige because it is the oldest tournament, having a history of more than 100 years. Asians came to dominate only after the end of WWII.

but that was only the last 10 yrs statistics, meaning that the powerhouse isnt doing well this few decades, should have a stats starting from the beginning of AE. hehehe......They may come back as one in near future.......:):):)

From the statistic,
-Obviously, INA showed poor results at AE arena except MD in last 10 years. Probably this situation will continuously several years later. Haryanto Arbi and Susi Susanti are the last INA's MS and WS who grabbed AE in 1994, when next candidates give INA those titles?? Still in the dark.

-Amid CHN dominance, MD is the weakest link that only one victory in 2005 through Cai/Fu. Seems CHN rather slowly to produce top-MD meanwhile WD so powerful especially Gao/Huang who almost close to Rudy's record. WoW!

Probably except m.f. may have to start earlier with the (so many) younger CHN WS, otherwise both may not even reach the finals. Except this time , likely it's ZN's retirement gift, as Onetoughbirdie indicated. Hard to tell ZN's form ,though. XXF's energy limit means she's likely a 1T (one tournament winner) anyway.

Gao Ling is on a totally different level than any other WD and even XD female player. She has totally killed the excitement in WD, shes too good.
