chen yu strength has always been raw unrefined panda power. Over time he had improved on consistency. That's why overall he had improved but not close to CJ or LD yet.

as for LCW, he has speed but unfortunately had not improved on his consistency. He missed many finishing shots. I find lcw and wch are weak in this area, poor choice or quality of finishing shots.

None of the Malaysian players are good in finishing games, the skill is there to compete in high level tournament but mental toughness is really a suspect. Life is too good in BAM and no challenger/replacement is around regardless. Even if Li Mao had stay, I doubt he could teach mental toughness to his students, Li Mao once said players in Malaysia in like "Yeh Yeh"(big boss), have to please them to work hard. Li Yongbo also mentioned Chong Wei will be a better player if he's in China, I think Li Yongbo certainly qualify in that mental correction department(imagine if Chong Wei fail to listen then his leg may be broken). There's no quick fix for the situation unless Chong Wei leave BAM and start to take the pressure upon himslef in winning the purse money plus endorsements else will be the same old same old.

In my opinion, despite the fact that Li Mao is unquestionable good at coaching the skills, physical fitness, analysing opponents' weakness and planning game strategy for MS. but he may not be an expert when it comes to handling the enormous pressure when playing against or as World No.1 because Li Mao was never on top of the ranking ladder (very crucial because if one can't handle pressure, hell breaks loose in one's game and no matter how good he is, his game is definitely going down the drain:mad::mad::mad:)......and only players like Rexy, ZJH, YY can enlighten LCW or the new bloods in handling the gigantic pressure to be or beat world number 1 because they had been there too and lingered at the sweet spot for years......

I deeply believe that LCW's downfall of lately is due to not being able to manage the pressure and the fear of losing his game as a World Chamipon especially to Lin Dan. When the fear and pressure caught up with LCW, all unforced errors would flow in a natural manner and no matter what he did, everything seemed not going the right way as it should. (thats when all of us got so frustrated and bashed him) It has got nothing to do with LCW's skills, stamina or whatever injury. The case that LCW suffers is totally different from our Yoyo Expert Hafiz (all he needs is to run 400km/day and go to gym 36hrs/day :D:D:D).

Another thing that I've noticed about our MAS players is that they seemed to freak out and lose their concentration as well as consistency of their game when playing under tremendous pressure and team events; e.g. thomas cup/asian games.

:)..(haven't seen the match) but i think Sony was trying to dedicate his QF match, against LinDan, for Taufik(since he was scheduled to meet up with LD in QF):p ...unfortunately as he's well know, he ran into the same old mental block..good thing Sony has better stamina to last that long...:p:D;)..Congrats to LD for pulling thru:cool:
Finally LD won with 21-18...But a credit to Sony...He did extremely well to foced LD to rubber set..
...Sony has been known as a "battler"...which is opposite of Taufik..;)
