If I'm not mistaken, of the 20 semi final places, China occupy an unbelievable 14!!!
So 70% of all semi-final spots belong to China.
Have China ever been THIS dominant in any tournament??
let alone the prestigious All England..
Absolutely speechless.

Wasn't it in the 2000 Olympic where China won Men's Single, Women's Single, Mix-Doubles, and Womens Doubles? 4 gold metal out of 5 even is pretty dominating isn't it? But as in the number of Chinese player that were in the Semi-Finals and beyond, I have no idea.
I was thinking about the same thing as you. China seems to be really dominating this tournament.

well it's likely China will take at least 4 golds in this AE championship.
but the astounding thing is the number of silver's and bronzes and 4th places China will/have already hauled.
It might as well be the Chinese National Championships!
Next most dominant country in this tournament is malaysia with 2 places!
The percentage goes up to 75% if you use born in China. If you use ethnic Chinese, then it becomes 85% to 90%.

Yup amazing. Fortunately Astro shows the QF, with all matches are from different country. Well if China were all in the finals is good also since I can have a good night sleep then. hahahahahaha

Only two pairs (Den MD and Eng XD) are of non-Chinese ethnicity.

I think this number (14 out of 20 semifinal spots) is unprecedented.

the extra numbers come from the faultless display of the 'big 4' MS players and the success of the XD pairs. Yu/He did very well to beat the indonesians!
I've been going on and on about Zheng/Gao but then when has there been a pair that has won every single tournament they have played?? this pair is setting the benchmark..

It is not fair to compare with the Olympics because the number of entries from each country is limited.
