Cai/Fu was actually playing their normal game towards CW/TG (but of course their flat drives has improved) but Tony is actually making tons of mistakes at the net, weird. Perhaps their age has slowed them down alot, so sad to say.

I missed the MD game altogether, when I woke up this morning, the game is all over already... I'm depressed that Tony/Chandra lost... I guess age is a big factor in this tournament. Still Tony/Chandra are the only Indonesians who made it to this year's AE semifinal, congrats...

Actually Indonesia MDs are still very strong, sometime you need some luck to overcome the hum ... I think the poor showing in AE may have something to do with Taufik disruption/outburst, certainly did not help in players preparation.

isnt easy to play when one is injured but they created an upset last nite and reach their 1st ae semis.

Only Mew Choo has shown significant improvement so far capable of standing her ground. Imagine the resources BAM has put in to promote the women event, I have to say WD is still come short of expectation, IMHO!

:p ...but unless one woke up @ around 4:30ish am(U.S./California time), one wouldn't be able to watch it either(their match was the first one on the schedule)...Oh well, no need to be depressed, as they've still got another chance next week in the Swiss Open-wish them luck..;) :cool:

Can't do that unless you want Cheah Soon Kit to quit. The key is to bring up more talented WD pairs. We have seen WS department improving with more players than just Mew Choo but not sure why so stagnant in WD department? May be, just may, we need to transform some MS backup players into WD thru *** operation :D

in ws besides wmc,we have julia and good juniors like anita and lydia cheah
but in wd the gap is so far between chin/wong and the others.
that's why they have problem with getting quality sparring before getting the nod to spar with the guys.
wonder what took bam so long to agree to let them spar with the men.
it only happen after they lost in 1st round in MO n KO
should have started sparring earlier with the guys.

anyway in Swiss open they will be new paring of ooi sock ai/woon khe wei.
let's hope this pair can achieve something so wd wont just have to only depend on chin/wong.

I think wmc did pi hong a favor, softening ZN up for pi.
Pi had good draw while wmc had to grind out 2 hardcore chinese before seeing ZN. If wmc had switched draw with pi hong, wmc might be in pi hong position now too. Just a thot.

...on the Semifinals day:
- ZhangYW&WeiYL 3 sets victory over their top seeded compatriots GaoL&HuangS...
- PiHY winning over ZhangN in 3 hard fought sets..
- AClark&DKellogg winning over the 2nd seeded CHN's pair XZB&ZYW in straight sets..
- KKK&TBH's victory over the higher seeded veteran Danes in straight sets, although most of us saw this coming already..:)

will we see more surprises on the FINALS day??..we shall wait and see..;) :D :cool:

it is not about the number of players you can send but it is rather about the quality of the players. I don't understand why everyone is bashing China for all Chinese semi-final but not their country man who couldn't make it to the semi. :(

good point, i had pointed that out too but often get ignored...

i guess we must wait until malay or indo are dominating, then the bashings against china will be eliminated..
