Much as I hate to say this, Fu will be better off with another partner. Cai Yun is pulling him down.

Cai Yun isn't playing very badly today honestly... The strategies used by the Malaysian team were unreal both from a tatical stand point and psychologically.

You could see they drained the confidence out of Fu and Cai one by one and bit by bit. There were at some point of the match where Fu and Cai were fighting for the shuttle.. at one point, it was supposed to be Fu's smash, but Cai took it and smashed it into the net.:crying:

Malaysians also adopted to the Chinese's strategy very well... like I mentioned that at the later half of the 2nd game, Fu repeatedly smash between KKK's legs, and at one point before Fu even smashed, KKK had his racket ready between his legs.:p

No point of blaming one partner, afterall you win as a team and lose as a team.:cool:

What happened to Chen Yu, I don't think his skill and Lin dan can be that far apart, lost so miserably. Imagine China without Lin Dan ... Taufik would have won more titles and skipped less Opens :D Like him or hate him, Lin Dan is "THE MAN"!
Before the lost of MDF, China could have been the biggest winner in All England with 2 secured and 3 potential golds but now 5 golds is out of the question and if the worst case happen where China also lose the WSF and XDF then China becomes the biggest loser with only 2 golds, quite a contrast from the biggest winner to biggest loser. Goal is set very high for team China!

I am really amazed at this young pair KKK/TBH. They've been amazing so far and showing really consistent results since they paired up last year - have not even partnered each other for a year and already they are showing awesome potential and recording historical wins. So far they are:

Runner-up in Japan Open
Semi-finalist in Korean Open
Winners in Doha Asian Games, Malaysia Open and All England.

No offense but I think they are starting even to outclass my previous M'sian greats, Cheah Soon Kit/Yap Kim Hock.

Has there been any pair in the history with such results? Three major wins in less than a year of partnership? :P I just hope they will not get success get into their head (as Malaysian players have a tendency to do that) and continue improving themselves to be a WORLD-CLASS pair among the greats of Rexy/Ricky and company. They're good, but there's always the room for improvement and the length to go the extra mile.

Good Job KKK/TBH. As much as I don't like KKK, but TBH played very well and so did KKK. They deserved the win. They had better placement and Rexy's strategy worked even from the very beginning of the match. 1st to frustrate the more stable player of the two, Fu(from previous game), then you noticed in the later half of the first game, Fu already showed a lack of confidence... then once Fu sort of gained his confidence back, the attacks began to aim at Cai.:eek:

I really like the Fu/Cai's strategy at the later part of the second game where Fu kept smashing the shuttle between the Malaysians' legs... you can tell that is one spot they are not used to defending...LOL.:p:D:D

Just did a quick calculation on MD world rankings. KKK/TBH will move up 13 rungs to the 19th spot on Thursday, one rung below Mohd Tazari/Lin (5 rungs up). So technically, KKK/TBH is the No.4 pair of MAS if we don't count the now-"defunct" Hoon/Tan (No.14) pair.

There will be no change for the top-6 pairs but Gunawan/Wijaya will move up 2 rungs to No.7, replacing Luluk/Hadiyanto.

Talking about consistency ... ZB/GL swept 5 titles since they paired up about half a year ago (AG, MO, KO, GO, AE). However, they were already established XD players with their respective former partners before they paired up while TBH was uninspiring when he was partnering HCH. Therefore, I still consider KKK/TBH's achievement far more astonishing.

Zheng Bo and Gao Ling are the true champions, even though they were not playing at their best still managed to find way to win. The turning point was on game 2 while UK was leading 17-16, 3 untimely error froms Clark. Give Kellogg and Clark credit, they played hard and almost won, opportunity was certainly there.
If you think Koo Kean Kiat and Tan Beng Hong creat history by winning so many titles in such a short amount of time after teaming together then Zheng Bo and Gao Ling have even achieve further as they have basically won every tournament since teaming up in Asian Games. What an achievement!!!

Yes, she was the difference in the whole match, Kellogg/Clark did pretty well overall except the untimely errors. Chinese strategy was quite clear, force the UK formation to side-by-side and attack Kellogg and won most of the points there. I still think Robertson/Emms is the better UK mixed team than Clark/Kellogg.

I made this point in my earlier posting ... I think it's not fair to compare ZB/GL and KKK/TBH. TBH is afterall a relative newcomer to the world-class players' club while ZB & GL were already established XD players with their respective former partners before they paired up, i.e., their foundation as world-class players are already in place. That's why I still consider KKK/TBH's achievement more astonishing.

TBH is only 20 while KKK is only 22. TBH made his first appearance in AE without any fear and became the champion. TBH made his first appearance in Asia Games and became the champion. He surely has the making of a world class player. Give him another few years and I'm sure he will become even better. If now he is good, in future he will become better. If now he is better, in future he will become the best. IMO, currently, TBH-KKK is the most reliable and consistent pair in Malaysia.

that's why china is lucky to have 2 guard dogs in WS. If one unauthorized entry get thru 1 guard dog (ZN), the culprit will be too tired to take on the 2nd dog (XXF). PiHong got thru (ie. beat ZN) because WMC was too tired to beat ZN after WMC had to tussle with 2 other lesser chinese dogs before meeting ZN. WMC did worn down ZN for Pi tho LOL

Credit to Rexy as none of the previous high profile coaches including Morten Frost, Park Jubong, Indra Wijaya able to bring AE title to Malaysia. Of course, Yap Kim Hock should also be credited for hiring him, smart move. I think the "market value" of Rexy has sky-rocketed!!!

I been watching KKK/TBH playing for a few months now. They have won all the sets throughout the AE tournament. When they managed to win a point, they will shout, "Fow!!!". I like this a lot and these shoutings have really freaked the Chinese pair out a lot (As well as the Danes). As a result, they ended with so many unforced errors. Tan Boon Heong is only 19 years old. He will be a major force in MD for years to come. Anyway, its a lovely birthday present for Rexy as his birthday was 2 days ago. See what they can do in the Swiss Open next week. Its also time for Malaysia to sort out its WS, WD and MD.

The best thing a coach, like Rexy, can do is to instill confidence in his/her charges, esp. the young/inexperienced ones. Case in point, CCM&KKK couldn't get it done(AE) even with Rexy coaching. Or even the veterans CTF&LWW couldn't muster any good finishes even with Rexy on their sides...:rolleyes:
So, at the end, credits go to the players, and in this case and in this AE, to the young KKK&TBH..:) ;) :cool:

What was the final score for the Pi/Xie WD match. From Tournamnet software, it showed quite a awide margin in total points, which means Pi was smoked pretty badly. Poor Pi, she must have been so completely knackered fro the QF and SF matches that she had nothing left to give... not that XXF wouldn't have won anyway.

My congrats to all the winners, particularly KKK/TBH who are proving to be the rising stars in badminton. They sure have everyone (except their jealous enemies/fans) buzzing about them. Happy belated 39th birthday, Rexy; perhaps, you could sport the same bald look as KKK too:D :D :D :D
