Men singles: Lin Dan(no doubt), the last time these two played against each other was at the World Cup 2006 final, and if anyone of you have watched that match, you will know Lin Dan will dominate if he goes all out on Chen Yu. Example: the first 7 pts of 1st game in World Cup 06 final. Absolutely dominant!!!:cool:

Women singles: XXF... unless you are on drugs, you won't bet against XXF.:p

Women doubles:YW/ZJW... they should win this before LYB decides to split them up.

Men doubles: Cai/Fu... on paper, KKK/TBH has the advantage over the Chinese, but Cai/Fu has a point to prove as they have yet to win anything ever since WC 06 + KKK may not want to be bald afterall.:p

Cai/Fu will show them what World Champs are all about, if Malaysians are really that good at defense, then Fu will probably have to start breaking his own smashing record!!!

I have to agree with your bet but Lin Dan is going to have a tough fight.

WEI Yili & ZHANG Yawen have done prety well so far as they have beaten GAO Ling & HUANG Sui who 're AE women doubles for 6 times.

Judging upon their consistency so far, Malaysian double should give an excellent fight. The most consistent pair Malaysia has produced so far I guess.

Maybe I'm too much enthusiastic, but I'm a great fan of Hongyan Pi.

MS: LD 55:45 CY. Yes when LD speed up, few can answer. However we should keep in mind that LD is not superman. He cannot really "speed up" through out the match. That's why we see so many "3rd game dominance" since LD cleverly reserves some energy in the first 2. CY is a very good player.

WS: XXF 52:48 PHY. Judging on past encounters, XXF should win easily. But, judging on past encounters, ZN should also win easily over PHY.

MD: KKK/TBH 52:48 CY/FHF. Koo/Tan seem to be in good form. If they are as excited as MAS MD final, then it's not a problem of how well they can defense, it is how long CY/FHF can hold on under the strongest attacking power on earth (although FHF smashes like crazy, CY is much weaker in smashes and they have to think about switching whenever CY is at the back. No such problem for Koo/Tan. They can just keep on attacking.)

WD: Yw/ZJW 60:40 ZYW/WYL. Yang/Zhang must have felt the pressure of having to be broken up if they do not do great. And they are doing great in the past two weeks.

XD: GL/ZB 70:30 AC/DK. No problem for GL/ZB. The only pair having hope to win against them is NR/GE.

In her match with Zhang Ning, i can see that Pi played well. But she showed some of her weaknesses that XXF can take advantage of. XXF have better stamina and much faster. I think i would rate this WS match 55/45 XXF would win.

As for the WS I would like Pi Hongyan to win. Being able to win over Zhang Ning 6 years after her last win in 2001 is a great effort.

KKK/TBH showed tremendous class. Compare the MD statistics. Cai/Fu match was smash driven; KKK/TBH had net winners overpowering the smash. That's sheer skill.(gosh, the veteran Danes were nervous facing the young gung ho MAS MD;gave away so many free points on serve!)
It's nice to hear solid "Malaysia Boleh' to counter the CHN 'Jia You' But KKK/TBH are fearless (and probably much feared ). It's joy to watch their play yesterday; so fluid in movement, so superior in skills,so nimble at the net and so clear in thinking.
PHY had a gruelling match yerterday and I'm glad she won because she deserves to. I hope she has enough stamina for another gruelling match but her win over ZN should boost her confidence and that might give her an untapped source of energy.
I wouldn't underestimate the Brits. They defeated GE/NR and are national champions , aren't they? They have superior opponent awareness and are extremely intelligent. I'm rooting for the Brits because they deserve to win. (GL undefeated for how long? So what? Wasn't she defeated in the WD? By the way I like GL but it's time for her to lose.) Does anyone know whether ZB's constant shouting after each winning point is legal? BCL would have disapproved and the umpire stopped LCW from the same after BCL complained. Astro Malaysia still have Live coverage but it's a subscription satellite TV, not free like RTM1. Anyway, the chance for RTM to broadcast is quite high even though the schedule say otherwise, is our Malaysian culture and RTM tradition so stay tune in front of TV and no "pasar malam" tonight:D

just finish watching the XD semi, china vs ENG, very exciting. I think DK/AC can win it the final. DK is amazing defending hard smashes, even at point blank range. DK can hold her own. Even the big xie resorted to dropping instead of his trademark brute smashing.

DK is very fast at the net, she might not be as good as GL but she got this fearless attitude i like. And ya, she is better than Emms. AC is a very smart player with his nvr say die attitude, he can do better then Nathan.

i'm not keen on emms, i think robertson can win more with another lady partner. That's why nathan has so much ups and downs due to emms inconsistency.

Good Job KKK/TBH. As much as I don't like KKK, but TBH played very well and so did KKK. They deserved the win. They had better placement and Rexy's strategy worked even from the very beginning of the match. 1st to frustrate the more stable player of the two, Fu(from previous game), then you noticed in the later half of the first game, Fu already showed a lack of confidence... then once Fu sort of gained his confidence back, the attacks began to aim at Cai.:eek:

I really like the Fu/Cai's strategy at the later part of the second game where Fu kept smashing the shuttle between the Malaysians' legs... you can tell that is one spot they are not used to defending...LOL.:p:D:D

Team China definately has weak spot on flat drive, the only way for the Chinese to gain point was to go thru Fu's power smashes which did not happen often enough as Malaysians kept the ball low. Credit to TBH, know when to attack and when to slice/drop keeping the Chinese guessing. This most probably the happiest moment for Malaysian since we won the Thomas Cup 1992.

Reigning Asian Games champions Kien Keat-Boon Heong are one of Malaysia’s best bet to win the title after a 25-year lapse. The last winners came from the Sidek brothers - Jalani and Razif - in 1982.

After crashing out in the second round in his three previous attempts, the 22-year-old Kien Keat is all fired up for an outstanding show.
“All the doubles players have worked very hard for this All-England. The title also means a lot to our coach. I know his birthday is coming up and the best way that I can repay his faith in all of us is to win the title for him,” said Kien Keat.

Tan Boon Heong played extremely well the entire tournament, and the two of them compliment each other so well. KKK is awesome at his net plays too, as usual. So finally we have a pair that we can clap clap and clap our hands at their skills and play during matches..... YEH !!!

Just got to practice a little on defending when get smashed between legs ( like what banana boy said ) , and they can become world beaters !
