KKK is very good at the net, but he has to work on the consistency. Sometimes he tends to lost focus after a few mistakes, thats when Rexy's shouting instruction at the back to keep him focus.

VERY RARE chances for CTF-LWW to success in this WC.. They are slow in attack & not strong in their attack..
The age will be their main barriers. Although the older JE/MLH of the Danes did have some good results.. But MAS pair not as tactically superior as the Danes..
With the MAS pairs styles of Play..They are not expected to mount a strong challenge in the coming WC.

CHN players have been "groomed" to only speak to the tune of the Chinese BA. What LD actually feels could be very different from what he says ......

He cannot disagree with Chinese BA if he wants to keep his place. It helps the association run like clockwork. More "democratic" BAs tend to be less successful ......

All these players have been gifted in different ways & I think as a badminton fan, I want to enjoy watching their performance rather than focus on their less than 100% perfect behaviour on court or even off-court. I don't really know all these players on a one-to-one personal basis, do you?

I've seen how LD,TH and XXZ responded to fans who approached them to have photos taken. LD just walked away; both TH and XXZ obliged smilingly.
LD was too young (3, 4 years ago?) to realise that it took a lot of guts for those fans to approach him as they needed to overcome the fear of rejection first. I'm sure his arrogance index has come down since. Whatever mistakes he has made in the past, he has been paying dearly for it and will continue to do so in this region. Let's concentrate on his badminton rather than his behaviour.

I think his cool face on court n the confidence he has makes u feel tat he is arrogant..after AE n SS 2007,i never saw confident on KKK face anymore when he plays..I really miss the old KKK..the confident KKK..therefore,I don think he is arrogant..he is confident to himself...:);)

CTF /LWW are stil top but they are not energised compare to KKK/TBH..however their experience is definately more than the youngsters..So,they still have chance to get into semi final if they dun meet players fr China,Indo o Denmark o KKK/TBB in early round..;)

It will be either one of those two pairs to win it. KKK/TBH or Cai/Fu

The only pair that can beat Cai/Fu at this moment are KKK/TBH. If the Malaysians crash out early then you might as well give the title to the Chinese.

Should these two pairs meet, it will be like 60-40 in favour of China.
Cai/Fu all the way! Still possible for Malaysia though. One thing for sure, Rexy has to be in their corner.

This is an arrongant player for me.

I don't want to argue with anybody. Cheer your favorite and that's all ;)

Edit: Honestly, I think you can be a shy person off the court and tough fighter on the court but I don't know how it is possible to be arrongant on the court and not off the court.. may be I'm wrong.

Badminton is not only a physical game, it also involve psychological strategies. Apparently, when a player appears to be arrogant during a match, the intention is to annoy the opponent in order to lose the focus. Most of the members of BC are players and we all know that making our opponents angry help us win the game.
It's hard to tell if a player is arrogant or not, snub or accommodating. Like anyone else they also have mood swings. The only difference is that they are not allowed to show their temper because they are in the limelight. The fans and supporters sometimes expect too much.

Then the way fans demonstrate their so-called full support for MAS with comments like "kick CHN butt, so-and-so will win, new crown WC MS and MD player, etc." would help the players and is an expression of confidence on the fans part, then for that I do not understand, as I can see if MAS players fail to deliver these expectations, then MAS fans are gonna be deflated and like you say, a nightmare. If fans are really fanatic, bring all your lung power to the stadium, cheer, scream like hell to support your players and torment the opponents...that would really help.;)

Just watching the repeat of MD SF in SO07 .. CW/TG plays a great match against FHY.CY. they are simply amazing ! Some of Tony nets shot toying the Chinese around the court, their understanding within each others was excellent.. Covering from the front to the back of the courts..
They are the more experience pair compare with any others Seeds in this WC. They have been winning OG. WC(in a separate partnership). They are superb especially in the big events

They might be not as fast & powerful as the CHN & MAS hot sensation. But in doubles, experince does matter as in the understanding among each others will be the main keys to success.

This was posted by myself on the 12th August, exactly last week!

So, my favorite pair Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan has defied all odds and become the World Champion today! I just sent my congratulatory SMSes to both of them :D The World Championship is indeed a very nice birthday present to Republik Indonesia (celebrating our 62th Birthday just 2 days ago) and to both of themselves (born in August, with Hendra still yet to celebrate his birthday).

NOBODY in this forum gives them a chance, the majority of which are already crowning Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong or Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun EVEN BEFORE the matches start. Admittedly, I only have a slim hope that they will win this week...and they have realized this dream! It is all the more sweeter since the next World Championships will only be held in 2009.

In 2005, when they just started to progress up the rankings table, I already think that they WILL BE a World Champion....just not this soon :D

I hope that the extraordinary victory today will spur them to win an All-England title, Asian Games title (in 2010) and eventually an Olympics Gold medal either next year or in 2012 (they will only be 28 by then).

Back in 2003, DEN pair LP/JR started off as good but not great pair and therefore was out of radar in our pre-WC prediction. They went on the win the title but look at what has been happening to them since then - still not so impressive. Whether MK/HS is going to be the next CY/FHF or LP/JR, we will see ...

I think KKK/TBH will certainly be the World No 1 once the points for HK Open 2006 are eliminated in two weeks time :cool:

Meanwhile, it will still take quite a while for Kido/Hendra to topple either KKK/TBH or Fu/Cai. One or two more titles in the Super Series this year should consolidate their position as the top INA pair for the Olympics. Luluk/Alvent is a spent force and they can only last maximum till next year's Olympics (if they can qualify).

I am more concerned of AG/Joko's upcoming performance in the Super Series and GP Gold events. They still have yet to win a single GP title or reach the Semi-Finals of a SS event :cool: Consistency and a breakthrough in performance is needed of them.

Bona/Ahsan, currently ranked at 40, could prove to be the next Kido/Hendra. They just won their first Satellite title in Vietnam recently. They should make it to the top 25 if they are sent to the remaining GP gold events this year :cool:

Almost noone predicted that they will win, everyone was just put the hope on KKK/TBH or Cai/Fu. Well, I thought that is really reasonable, since Kido and Hendra haven't shown their best performance ever in the first half of this year. Only runner-up in China Masters.
But they proved now that they are one of the best pairs.
Hopefully they can win more and more.

Yeah, BWF insisted that there should only be one BWF-sanctioned tournament that produces World Ranking points other than the Indonesian Open Superseries in Indonesia. So, Jakarta & Surabaya competed for that one slot... and Surabaya won after offering $20,000 in prize money. The tournament is categorized as a "4a" tournament - International Challenge. ;)

KKK-TBH won't compete in Surabaya next week. They probably will go for Japan Superseries and Chinese Taipei Open Gold GP. ...maybe Indian Open Gold GP too, but I don't think so.
