*Btw, kwun/mods, don't know if you guys want to merge this thread/posts with the one in the Professional Players sub-forum??..as it's mentioning the same topic as well..
Chu Liuxiang 03-11-2007, 05:11 AM One of the Indonesian badminton club, Musica Champion Kudus is keen on getting Chen Hong who has just retired from Chinese National team (world Ranking No.4 ) and hoping to get Chen's participation in Indonesia Badminton Super League, according to Heryanto Arbi.
tjl_vanguard 03-13-2007, 09:48 PM apparently, mas has no events such as this... sad thing.. sad case... haihz..
Krisna 03-14-2007, 10:57 AM I just heard from Musica Champion people that Li Yongbo did not allow Chen Hong to compete in Indonesia's Superliga Badminton... [even though Chen has already retired from the national team, Li Yongbo still have the power to stop him from competing]...

My info said: the club interested in hiring Peter Gade is Suryanaga Gudang Garam... [And I think they have the money...]
PB. Tangkas [formerly Bimantara Tangkas and later Bogasari Tangkas]... mmm... I think they have some cash flow problems... They don't have money to hire a lot of expensive foreign players.
magical_phoenix 03-20-2007, 11:00 AM Hey everyone,
I just got the news that Indonesia is going to organise Indonesian League where the big clubs in Indonesia is going to compete against each other. It will have Thomas/Uber Cup format and each club is entitled to two foreign players. The total prize is around USD 98,000.
For the full story,

Krisna 03-21-2007, 09:50 AM The preliminary round is set to start in 2 weeks. If I am not mistaken: April 3-7 in Surabaya. 11 clubs will compete for the last 3 spots of the male competition:
PB Indocafe; Medan, North Sumatra
PB Ratih; Banten
PB Aufa; Jakarta
PB Musica Champion; Central Java
PB BPKD KuKar; East Kalimantan
PB CBN Batam; Kepulauan Riau
PB Wima; Surabaya, East Java
PB Mutiara; Bandung, West Java
PB Kotab Dishub; Bandung, West Java
PB South Suco; South Sulawesi
PB Randik; South Sumatra
8 clubs will compete for the last 3 spots of the female competition:
PB Indocafe; Medan, North Sumatra
PB Ratih; Banten
PB Bina Bangsa; Jakarta
PB CBN Batam; Kepulauan Riau
PB Semen Gresik; Surabaya, East Java
PB Mutiara; Bandung, West Java
PB Kotab Dishub; Bandung, West Java
PB South Suco; South Sulawesi
I predict the usual suspects will go through to the final round [in June 23rd - July 1]. By usual suspects, I mean: Mutiara Bandung and Ratih Banten.... :) both in the men and women event.
The very last spot for the men's draw... maybe CBN Batam [Riau Kepulauan] or Musica Studios [Central Java]. Musica is full of former or current Djarum players who are not chosen to be part of the main team.
The last ladies' spot... let me go with PB Semen Gresik. They have Aprillia Yuswandari who just won the German Junior... :)

INA is the first country to create Badminton League. Let's see how far this league will bring positive effect for INA bdm as globally!
Last info -- MAS's Lee Tsuen Seng will join this Super League also VIE's Nguyen Tien Minh. Meanwhile, PG and KJ plus Chen Hong still waiting further confirmation.
Krisna 03-26-2007, 05:17 AM Indonesia will be the first one in Southeast Asia. Japan already have a badminton league and the corporate sponsors are Sanyo, NEC, etc.
Germany and Denmark has a badminton league, I am not sure about Holland, but I would say so. Denmark's league is very competitive and have helped develop the young Danish talents.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the German league. They are waaayyy too dependent on foreign players. As a result, the local German players are not as well developed [yet]. I know they have improved their Thomas and Uber Cup standings in recent years, but not fast enough...:) [this is my opinion, of course]
Other news:
Chen Hong was not allowed to play by Li Yongbo. No surprise there... :p
Peter Gade and Kenneth J. wanted to play, but not this year. This year the schedule is too tight and they want to spend time with their family. [I can understand that]
Lee Tsuen S. will play for Musica Champions.
Nguyen T. will play for that Kalimantan club [forgot the name... sorry]
Preliminary round will be in Surabaya next week...

Tsuen Seng Ramaikan Persaingan
Djarum Superliga Badminton dipastikan bakal berjalan sengit. Kepastian itu didapat setelah pemain nomor empat Malaysia, Lee Tsuen Seng, bakal membela klub Musica Champion Kudus, Jawa Tengah. Siapa lagi yang akan berlaga?
Tsuen Seng kini membela klub KLRC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dia menduduki peringkat 21 dunia.
Pemain asal Vietnam, Nguyen Tien Minh, bakal membela klub BPKD Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur.

Dreamzz 03-26-2007, 10:40 AM should be a good tournament, if they can get some of the big names they promised.

abedeng 03-26-2007, 08:53 PM Tsuen Seng Enhances Competition
The Djarum Badminton Superleague is expected to be hotly contested. That much is certain after Malaysia’s 4th ranked player, Lee Tsuen Seng, will be spearheading the challenge from the Musica Champion Kudus Club, Central Java. Who else will be competing?
Tsuen Seng now represents the KLRC Club, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is currently ranked 21st in the world. His most spectacular achievement was in defeating Taufik Hidayat in the final of the 2002 Thomas Cup in Guangzhou, China, despite Malaysia eventually going down to Indonesia 2-3.
Other than Lee Tsuen Seng, according to Ario Satrio Prakoso, the Directorate Representative of the League Operations, the Badminton Superleague will have significant foreign participation. Despite most of them not being in the forefront of the world rankings, their presence alone is expected to enhance the competition even further.
The Vietnamese born player, Nguyen Tien Minh, will be representing the BPKD Kutai Kartanegara Club, East Kalimantan. This player, born on 12 February 1983, had at the XV Asian Games in Doha shown amazing performance. The Ho Chi Minh City bred player was able to defeat Lee Hyun-Il (Korea) and Boonsak Ponsana (Thailand) in the team competition.
“Both players will definitely feature in Surabaya. Meanwhile, other clubs are still enticing other world class players to participate in the Badminton Superleague.” Ario added.
CBN Withdraws
The Djarum Badminton Superleague with start with the qualification phase at GOR Sudirman, Surabaya, from 3 to 7 April. 10 men’s and 7 women’s teams from provinces across the country step forward to battle for 3 tickets for the Final Round in Jakarta, on 21st June to 1 July.
These 3 qualifiers will then do battle with 5 major clubs that had already been given direct entry to the Final Round. These clubs are Tangkas Jakarta, Jayaraya Jakarta, SGS Bandung, Djarum Kudus, and Suryanaga Surabaya. The league format uses the same system as per the Thomas and Uber Cups respectively.
“Actually the CBN Batam Club initially wanted to participate, however due to a 2 foreign player maximum rule, they chose to withdraw. The CBN men’s and women’s teams withdrew due to lack of players.” Ario explained.
The Ratih Banten Club also did not want to be left behind. They brought in two Japanese players. These players agreed to participate after negotiations made by Reony Mainay, who once had a coaching stint there.
Meanwhile, the Mutiara Bandung Club is calling for the services of Atu Rosalina. The ex-Cipayung national trainee, who has since resigned, then continued her badminton career as a player with a Danish club.

abedeng 03-26-2007, 09:42 PM Hyun-il Desired By Jaya Raya
It is true that the Jaya Raya Club doesn’t need participate in the qualifying round of the Djarum Badminton Superleague in Surabaya. As champions of the 2006 National Badminton Championships in Medan, with 5 other strong clubs, they are given wild card entries to the final round.
Despite all that, the club built by the Ciputra entreprise does not sit still. Knowing that their men’s singles section is weak, they wish to enhance the overall strength by recruiting foreign players as part of the preparation for the final round.
The player that they are aiming for is Lee Hyun-il. This South Korea player, who is now ranked 12th in the world, is believed to be well qualified to represent Jaya Raya. This was admitted by one of their trainers, Retno Kustijah.
“We definitely wish for Lee Hyun-il,” Retno mentioned.
Meanwhile, according to the Directorate Representative of the League Operations, Ario Satrio Prakoso, Jaya Raya is not only hunting Hyun-il. This capital city club also the Indonesian-born Dutch player, Dicky Palyama, and the Indian, Anup Sridhar in their sights.
If they are indeed present, the badminton league is surely going to be interesting and tough!!
ctjcad 03-27-2007, 02:06 AM ..abedeng, much appreciate the help:cool: ..Btw, just curious, are you Indonesian or M'sian??..
abedeng 03-27-2007, 03:01 AM I am Malaysian.
Krisna 03-27-2007, 04:14 AM CBN Batam complained about the 2 foreign player limit per team. Batam wanted to use ALL foreign players for quick & meteoric club glory....
Yet, they choose to disregard one of the Djarum Superliga Badminton's original intention: to improve Indonesian Badminton player's quality. PBSI and the clubs already agree [correctly, by the way] that in order for Indonesian domestic players to get good playing experience, we need to invite SOME good foreign players. But, we cannot use ALL foreign players otherwise the Indonesian players won't get the chance to play and improve.
Automatically, the local Indonesian clubs have to look and build Indonesian talents. The more number of talents that are recruited, the fiercer the competition and quality selection. Thus Indonesia shall produce many more supertalents from our own backyard.
Krisna 03-27-2007, 04:14 AM I predict [without knowing the lineup yet], the July result shall be:
The finals of the Women will be Jaya Raya vs. Djarum. 51% - 49% chance Jaya Raya will win.
The finals of the Men will be Djarum vs. Tangkas. 51% - 49% chance Djarum will win.

hahaha, that's quite a brave prediction then without knowing the lineup. so much can change between now and july!

i'm sure there are many fans here who will be keen to be up to date with the latest developments in this league.

Mutiara Bandung [95% chance of qualifying]
Musica Champion Kudus [70% chance of qualifying]
BPKD Kutai Kertanegara [51% chance of qualifying]
Ratih Banten [49% chance of qualifying]; I don't know how good those Japanese players are... :p
I read in yesterday's Jawapos if i'm not mistaken, that one of the Japanese players, Iwawaki Nineo, is the junior champion of Japan... One of the girls is also the finalist of JPGG Surabaya last year. It is also said that there will be 4 Japanese (2 girls n 2 boys) in the team. I'm not sure about this news because I saw 2 girls and 3 boys last Friday when they were practicing with the rest of the team in the sports club near my house (Padang Golf Modern in Tangerang)... I dunno if they are still jetlaged, but the MD pair didn't play really well (although one of the 3, plays both MD and MS really good, I think he is Reony's golden child *anak emas* because in the begining Reony played double with him, and then played MS against him, then asked him to play against his 'new' teammates, while the MD pairs, well, they didn't play that much:(. But i'm not sure which one is Iwawaki Nineo:confused: , maybe the better-looking one  ), and one of the girls' stroke is not really good for an almost-proffesional player (well, her smash is quite weak, but the other girl smashed powerfully:D, her appearance reminds me of Yu Yang of China, kinda boyish). And I saw one European player playing with Atik Jauhari's son, but I'm not sure if both of them will represent Ratih Banten for the Super Series...

Finalist JPGG 2006 is Maria Kristin & Julia Wong, Semi Finalist : Sylvinna Kurniawan & Fu Ming Tian
JPGG 2005 F: Maria Kristin & Silvi Antarini, SF : Neo Miyoshi & Pia Zebadiah
I didn't see Japanese girls in JPGG finalist in last 2 years, I think she is Neo Miyoshi Semi Finalist JPGG 2005.

fabcargo 04-02-2007, 10:50 PM My info said: the club interested in hiring Peter Gade is Suryanaga Gudang Garam... [And I think they have the money...]
PB. Tangkas [formerly Bimantara Tangkas and later Bogasari Tangkas]... mmm... I think they have some cash flow problems... They don't have money to hire a lot of expensive foreign players.
SURYANAGA has signed a top player! We have got his signature already, I will reveal the name soon!
sugar_free 04-03-2007, 09:57 AM Yep, that is definitely the one that I refer as Reony's 'anak emas'... Izzit Mineo or Nineo?
Sandy, thx for the correction. I guess i must had misread it... Thx again...

Krisna 04-04-2007, 03:33 AM Men's Superliga
Mutiara, Musica, Ratih, and BPKD Kukar all won two times yesterday. If all four of them win one more time today, then they will surely go to the semis.
Women's Superliga
Mutiara beat Suco Sulawesi yesterday. They are the most likely candidate to go to the next round. Bina Bangsa beat Semen Gresik 3-2.
For details, visit www.bulutangkis.com (http://www.bulutangkis.com) :D Sorry I don't have enough time to write the details. But the news mentioned Harianto Arbi, Lioe Tiong Ping, Ade Lukas, Titon etc. of Musica Champion Kudus a lot. This club attract the most attention because several former famous Djarum players were fielded there. What most people don't know is that Musica also hired Hayom and Wisnu, two up and coming young singles players from PB Djarum Kudus.
Krisna 04-04-2007, 03:40 AM The Japanese male players playing for Ratih were not that good... They were good enough to bring points for Ratih. But these are not the top Japanese players. The top Japanese are playing at Osaka International Challenge. Ha ha ha ha ha...
CLELY 04-05-2007, 02:44 AM Mutiara Bandung possible will recruit world #10 (WS) BUL's Petya Nedeltcheva as amunition addition to face final round which will be held in Jakarta 21 June/07 -- source : KOMPAS,05/04/07.
Krisna 04-06-2007, 07:59 AM BREAKING NEWS:
April 6th, 7:50pm Surabaya time...
Ratih Banten men's team just won its right to attend the finals of the Superliga Bulutangkis in Jakarta [June-July 2007]. Ratih beat BPKD Kukar in a thrilling 3-2 win in front of a sellout crowd, who went nuts just now. My friend told me over the phone that it was great badminton entertainment. A week ago, I gave Ratih a 49% chance of getting through to the next round, I am quite glad they are through because I like this team. :)
Mutiara Bandung and Musica Champion Kudus, both men's team already qualified for the Superliga finals yesterday, will play in a few minutes to determine the qualifying round champion. It's just a match for bragging rights today. :D
In the women's team side, Bina Bangsa Jakarta swept Kotab Bandung 3-0 a few hours ago to secure their place in the finals. Mutiara Bandung and Ratih Banten women's team already are in the finals after their wins yesterday.
Krisna 04-06-2007, 11:48 AM 11:15pm Surabaya time...
Ratih Banten won the women's qualification by beating Mutiara Bandung 3-1 in the women's team qualification...
----------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, the Men's team finals between Musica Champion Kudus vs. Mutiara Bandung was locked in a tough battle for pride:
Lee Tsuen Seng beat Budi Santoso
Enroe-Rudi beat Ade-Hadi
Sakti Kusuma beat Wisnu Haryo Putro
Belly-Robby beat Lioe Tiong Ping-Titon
3-1 for Mutiara. Congratulations... :D
Krisna 04-06-2007, 11:52 AM SURYANAGA has signed a top player! We have got his signature already, I will reveal the name soon!
Suryanaga needs a strong second doubles team. I predict they will get at least one strong doubles player from... Malaysia. :D
Dreamzz 04-06-2007, 12:21 PM well well, now the real competition begins .... ummm, not right now but in june i mean. it should be far more interesting when the 5 big boys (and girls) come out and play ...

Review of Ratih's men's squad :
Achmad Rivai and Rio/Davin are 2005 National Junior Champions, Rivai beat Bagus Indra and Rio/Davin beat Bona Septano/M. Ahsan. They were moved from Jaya Raya in 2006 and they didn't recruit into Pelatnas. Actually they are still in junior age in 2006 but their performance wasn't better than 2005.
Mineo Iwawaki looked good as 3rd Single, he played in tough 3 sets match against one of top Junior Djarum player, Hayom Rumbaka. I think he can beat 3rd single of BPKD Kukar.

Ratih beat Mutiara 3-1
maybe only Atu Rosalina won for Mutiara but Ratih has Hany Setiany and Neo Miyoshi.
Weak 2nd double in Musica Champion Kudus.
They should be recruit Andreas and Karel Mainaky from Djarum. Ade Lukas, Hadi Saputra, Andreas, Karel Mainaky and David Pohan (Kukar) usually played together as senior Djarum's double in some tournaments.

Yeah. Hanny Setiani is one of my good friend, she played for several years in France .. and she's very very strong ! If she trained with the national team she would have been the best player for indonesia. She's really really talented !
Hope she'll be back in france .. at least for Holidays =)
CLELY 04-06-2007, 11:44 PM So, 6 clubs have already to perform in Jakarta next June.
Men's Team -- Musica Champion Kudus ; Mutiara Bandung ; Ratih Banten (surprisingly)
Women's Team -- Mutiara Bandung ; Bina Bangsa Jakarta ; Ratih Banten
The 6 qualifier will join the 5 wild-cards final round -- Jaya Raya ; SGS Elektrik ; Suryanaga ; Djarum Kudus ; Tangkas Jakarta.
OoO the competition will be tough if the weak club can recruit many2 foreign top-players especially from bdm powerhouse CHN. But the problem is all about money and regulations.

from Media Indonesia
Suryanaga also pulled in Ng Wei and Rexy Mainaky, so the composition of Men's team's is
Single
1st Chen Hong
2nd Sony Dwi Kuncoro
3rd Ng Wei
Double
1st Bambang Suprianto/Rexy Mainaky
2nd Alvent Yulianto/Tri Kusharyanto (I thaught Alvent/Tri Kus had higher ranking than Bambang/Rexy)
badMania 05-30-2007, 10:08 AM Hmmm that looks to be a strong lineup.....

I support Suryanaga men's winner and Tangkas as female's winner since they have strong players. Woww... WC will play for Tangkas and Yip as well. In doubles they have Vita and Lilyana....
kidosetiawan 05-31-2007, 11:10 PM Djarum is wat I shall support purely Indonesians...like it!
badMania 05-31-2007, 11:44 PM Looking at the list, Suryanaga has suddenly become one of the favorites for the men's title. Chen Hong, Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Ng Wei are all strong singles...and their doubles are not bad either.
Jaya Raya's situation is not bad either because of its 2 singles import: Ronald Susilo and Kendrick Lee. The first doubles will be Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan, while the second doubles can be the Wijaya brothers.
Djarum's situation is tricky....it has some good upcoming singles in Andre Kurniawan, Andy Nugroho Saputro and Ari Yuli Wahyu; and certainly 2 strong doubles with any combination from Rian Sukmawan, Yonathan Suryatama, Sigit Budiarto and Frans Kurnaiwan.
In the women's team, Tangkas will be the team to beat with Wang Chen and Yip Pui Yin in the singles. Its doubles will be strong too with any combinations between its Pelatnas players.
Jaya Raya will rely heavily on its 3 Pelatnas singles and Greysia Polii. Greysia can be paired with virtually anyone while Nitya/Nadya could also form a solid second doubles.
Djarum has 2 established doubles pair in Meiliana Jauhari/Shendy Puspa and Purwati/Rintan Aprilliana. But, it has to depend a lot on Maria Kristin, Maria Elfira and Sylvinna Kurniawan for it to win the crown.

I heard about this... Maria Febe is lent to Suryanaga, Luluk Maria Ulfa is lent to Mutiara. PB. Djarum wants their youngsters to get tough match-playing experience. Minarti Timur's name is still registered under PB Djarum at PBSI. So, technically, Suryanaga borrowed her from Djarum too... :p
Sandrawati Wijaya, sister of Candra Wijaya, is still competing under Jaya Raya's banner in the Jakarta Open this week. I think she is just borrowed by Mutiara. Linda Weni is a top Junior nowadays. Maybe second only to Maria Febe. Linda is a member of Ragunan. But apparently borrowed by Bina Bangsa. :)
Lilik Siswati?!? I think this is the girl who was just fired by Djarum and Pelatnas because of disciplinary problems... Bina Bangsa wants her?!? Ok, she is a talented doubles specialist, but her reputation for creating problems is pretty infamous...
Krisna 06-01-2007, 12:24 AM Player's list Superliga Badminton Indonesia 2007

Musica Champions:
1. Lee Tsuen Seng
2. Bandar Sigit
3. Dionysius Rumbaka
4. Wisnu Haryo Putro
5. Titon Gustaman
6. Hadi Saputra
7. Ade Lukas
8. Lioe Tiong Ping
9. Hariyanto Arby
10. Lingga Lie
11. M. Rijal
Whoooaaaa! All the players in red color are either still actively plays for Djarum or have retired but still registered at Djarum. I think we can safely say that this Musica Champion club is de-facto Djarum's second team in action... :p
Must be because the owner of Musica Studios are good friends with the Djarum guys. He practices badminton at Djarum's court in Jakarta... :p
huangkwokhau 06-01-2007, 12:31 AM I am glad that Djarum is so generous to lend their players to otehr clubs..I am sure that those clubs have to pay up to certain amounts for those players...why not? it is business.....
Krisna 06-01-2007, 12:32 AM I support Suryanaga men's winner and Tangkas as female's winner since they have strong players. Woww... WC will play for Tangkas and Yip as well. In doubles they have Vita and Lilyana....
I agree with you that Suryanaga's men's team and Tangkas' women's team are probably the strongest on paper... :)
Well, since I am from Central Java, I support Djarum [men and women] and Musica Champions [just men]... Regional affinity matters... Ha ha ha... :D
Krisna 06-01-2007, 12:40 AM I am glad that Djarum is so generous to lend their players to otehr clubs..I am sure that those clubs have to pay up to certain amounts for those players...why not? it is business.....
Yes, I think in essence from what I understand from my friends, Djarum's vision is to bring glory and prosperity to Indonesian badminton. So they love seeing their players get extra money [while getting match experience]... :D
Pranoto Eko Sartono listed in Mutiara Bandung is also a player borrowed from Djarum. Eko usually plays in the Swedish league. Only one more missing good Djarum player here... where is Holvy de Pauw. Holvy was even more talented than Andre Kurniawan, but he was dropped from Pelatnas and then played for a German club.
Krisna 06-01-2007, 12:40 AM By the way, Ronald Susilo returned to his roots eh? He was from Jaya Raya, now he returned to Jaya Raya... I like that kind of loyalty. And he brought his competent Singaporean friend with him too... Cool!
badMania 06-01-2007, 12:48 AM By the way, Ronald Susilo returned to his roots eh? He was from Jaya Raya, now he returned to Jaya Raya... I like that kind of loyalty. And he brought his competent Singaporean friend with him too... Cool!
Still hard for Jaya Raya to beat Suryanaga
Ronald vs Chen Hong
Kendrick vs Sony
any player vs Ng Wei
The quality of singles in Suryanaga is just better...

No no, Maria Febe is being borrowed by Suryanaga, not Febby Angguni. But yes I agree Febby is the cute one...;)
You like her? I didn't know you're a guy. I always thought you were a girl, kido...
You should see Febby [Angguni] when she replicates the Inul 'drill-dance' ['ngebor']... She likes to perform that particular move. She did so in a PBSI gathering....
Sandy 06-01-2007, 08:32 AM ..for the list, Sandy:cool:..I assume this is the final list??..I notice Rexy's name is printed twice, for Suryanaga & Tangkas??...must be a typo?..I don't think he's playing for both clubs, is he??..
I just copied from indopos.co.id, a lot of typo in there.
I just realize that Rexy's name on 2 team. Rexy's club is Tangkas, I think Suryanaga lent him from Tangkas.
Wang Li LI? is she from singapore?..I recognize her name...not sure where she is from
Wang represent Indonesia in some tournament, she is Kwee Tek Ming (ex Djarum player) wife.

I'm not agree that Linda 2nd INA Junior, nothing special when watch her play today. Tend to play long rally and defencive just waiting the opponent made unforced error. She almost lost to Cisita Jansen if no bad call in 3rd set, and I'm sure Cisita will beat her if meet again. still a lot of players are better than her.
Another Ragunan's player in U-16, Ayu Pratiwi looked more dangerous although she lost to Umi (Djarum) in Jakarta Open today.
I mean Lili Siswanti, just copied from indopos.co.id
not surprised she join to Bina Bangsa, she is graduated or school in there.
huangkwokhau 06-01-2007, 08:44 AM Sandy...do you think Wang Li Li will play for INA? is she good? I have not seen her play....o what club she belongs to? Jarum??

Sandy 06-01-2007, 08:30 PM Sandy...do you think Wang Li Li will play for INA? is she good? I have not seen her play....o what club she belongs to? Jarum??
Wang Li Li was never compete in Indonesia, I thought she doesn't belong any club in here. She just play in PHI or USA tournament and didn't show good results yet.

Talking Djarum players in foreign country, not only Holvy De Pauw missing. Albertus/Yohan Hadi Kusuma, Alroy Tanama Putra and Pelatnas player Fernando/Subakti and Febby Angguni, no club hired them.
kidosetiawan 06-01-2007, 10:45 PM can you post the picture from tabloid bola please....I am in England now so I can't see Febbie but as soon as I land in Jakarta next week.....

By the way, there is a Superliga launching party tomorrow at Kelapa Gading Mall III at 10:30am-3pm. Fans can meet the athletes etc.... :D The reason for this event is to start the awareness of the up and coming Superliga in 2.5 weeks...

;)...don't worry, i'm not ignoring them..;):)
Off topic: I met both of them, actually the whole INA squad, during the 2004 U.S. Open. Even went with them along with Tony, his wife & Halim for a get-together dinner at a Korean restaurant: http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/(X(1)S(jkuxdx55fkliez21ten3ie55))/sport/tournament.aspx?id=5944&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 ;)..They came with Angeline De Pauw(who is now living and coaching in S.F., NorCal), Eny Erlangga, David Pohan(who has a brother living in SoCal), Halim Heryanto(who is living & coaching in OCBC, SoCal), Halim Haryanto, Thomas Indracahya(one of Pelatnas current MD coach, he didn't play much) and another 1 or 2 more people...The guys still have the skills, but for some reason just can't keep up with the younger players...Heryanto Arbi definitely looked "plumper" than when he was single..:p:D;)
Krisna 06-03-2007, 12:42 AM I just read in Kompas that Musica Champion signed Lee Chong Wei?!? Is there a mistake here?!? Lee Tsuen Seng is expected. But Lee Chong Wei too?!? Kompas specifically said Lee Chong Wei, the newly crowned Indonesian Superseries champion...

?!?
The launching party is at Gading sportmall?!? I don't think so. It doesn't make much sense... Kelapa Gading III has more visitors and can attract more attention for a launching party.
The finals of Men and Women teams will be in Gading Sportsmall. But that's the actual games, not the launching party... :)

I think its no mistake. LCW is expected to join Musica if BAM grant a permission for him, and seems that he got his wish. I happen to know this from one of the club's organiser, I'll probably ask him again when I see him sometimes next week, but I'm pretty sure u can believe what u read.:D

CLELY 06-04-2007, 12:48 AM There's several top-names will participate in inaugural Djarum Badminton Super League. It's very good signal to start one new sport-event like this especially to revive badminton popularity in Indonesia. This project will blending with some entertainments to erase dull impression and of course TV station also take part. Indosiar will airing Semifinal plus Final round and still possible to broadcast preliminary rounds depends on sponsor participants.
Both venues of this event is very close with shopping centre/mall. A breakthrough action from the organizer to collect many spectators here because major Jakarta society is mall freaks!

Superliga Badminton Indonesia (SBI) 2007
Molor, Ratih Batal Kenalkan Skuad Oleh adminSenin, 04-Juni-2007,
I was right. It was in Kelapa Gading III... :p Ah never mind laaah... It already happened... I hope no BC members went Kelapa Gading Sports Hall by mistake. There was no launching party there yesterday...
huangkwokhau 06-04-2007, 05:35 AM so what is the website for superliga? Just want to find out the players of Ratih.....
Krisna 06-04-2007, 05:45 AM Key translation from the article above:
Mr. Sutiyoso, PBSI head said that having the launching party in a mall is a breakthrough, intended to jump-start the public's interest towards badminton again despite the low motivation to follow badminton today. He also hopes that in the future, badminton fever will spread again all over Indonesia.
Mr. Yacob, the head of the superleague organizers said that, "In the middle of the poor Indonesian badminton achievements, we need to be more proactive in getting the attention of fans. Until today, badminton perceived as something that have minimum correlation with the entertainment world." Thus we will have various entertainment throughout the tournament. Two bands performed in the mall and several exhibition games were held.
My friend said that some ministers played with Harianto Arby, Eddy Hartono, Lius Pongoh etc. during the launching party exhibition games... :)
"This Badminton Super League is a great alternative tournament for Indonesians. I myself shall perform my best in this tournament", said Luluk Hadiyanto, the doubles player from PB. Djarum.
During the launch, almost everybody announced their team members. Only PB. Ratih Banten didn't introduce their players because they have left home. They claimed that Mr. Sutiyoso arrived way too late from the original schedule.
It is true. Even though he was invited to arrive at 9am, Mr. Sutiyoso arrived at 4pm... [typical] :p
huangkwokhau 06-04-2007, 05:58 AM well...not a good example if he came way too late....
kidosetiawan 06-04-2007, 07:22 AM I never like dat guy Sutiyoso....Sok Pinter...dats the Indo word to describe him well precisely 'Sok Pinter ga taw Malu'......
As a governor he fails!
As a PBSI head again he fails!
He should just bugger off from PBSI!!!!!!
ctjcad 06-04-2007, 03:08 PM ..for providing the translation of the article's main point..

:)...hehe, next time, they should put the arrival time at 2am in the wee-hour of the morning, so he would come at 9am(7 hrs later)..:p:o
Wow, make sure you hire bodyguards to protect yourself, I don't think Indonesia officer is that open for critcism :D

Indonesia is better now...I think the officers are immune to criticism anyway...:D:Dcompare to china....you may have to be a bit careful....:D:D
Krisna 06-04-2007, 11:26 PM Wow, make sure you hire bodyguards to protect yourself, I don't think Indonesia officer is that open for critcism :D
Most Indonesian officials do not enjoy criticism, but they are shameless enough to be immune towards it. :p We Indonesians are very free in speech right now. Almost no consequence at all by having individual [even opposition] opinions. Unfortunately for us, just having good, logical, even moral opinion does little to improve the situation... Ha ha ha... :p
Most of us are just spectators of the Elite's political games. Pretty much like watching a badminton match.
Krisna 06-04-2007, 11:42 PM Oh, I have Superliga news that is not in the newspaper headlines:
Since the main National Team is going to Sudirman Cup in Glasgow and the Cipayung National camp is almost empty, PBSI now allows the players to choose between practicing in Cipayung or returning to their respective clubs in preparation for the Superliga. I imagine many would opt to just go back and practice with their club-mates...

Here it is... http://www.superligabadminton.com/
It is quite awful because there is almost nothing in it yet! And the information available is not accurate. Example: the schedule is wrong. I heard that in the last meeting the organizers all agree that the night league games [June 22-28] should start at 6:30pm to accomodate the Jakarta fans that surely will encounter traffic jams after work. The morning league games will start at 10am. Don't believe whatever is written now. :p

Roughly:Takes a while and I rushed it as well...hope you guys get the content of this article.
A New era of Indonesian badminton championship which has been designed in term of enjoyment and entertainment has begun.
It happened since Djarum Superliga Indonesia 2007 had been being launched at Atirum Mal Kelapa Gading 3, Nothern jakarta on Sunday.
This is the first time that the name of Superleague has been born in Indonesia ( or circulated, but sound strange).
It is no surprise that the launching party has been sought by badminton fans.
Plus ( in addition) a few of world class players will take part in this superleague.
" Djarum Superliga Indonesia is one of a way to boost Badminton game back to our society that results have been gloomy lately'', said Director of Superleague, Jacob Rusdianto.
The Final round of Indonesia superleague in Jakarta will be competed (or supported) by each 8 men/women team. Prior to this, the qualification rounds which took place in Surabaya, April had selected 3 teams of men and women.
The final round will take place at Galanggang Soemantri Brojonegoro, Kuningan, and Sport Mall, Kelapa Gading, June 22 to July 1.
The chairman of Indonesian PBSI, Sutiyoso handed The President Cup which will be crowned ( or grabbed litearally) to the winner in the prestigius 900 Million rupiahs ( about US$ 87.000) tournament , to Jacob.
The ceremony also officially declared the launching of Indonesian Superleague which is fully sponsored by Indonesian cigarette company, PT Djarum.
Calling on Governors
According to Sutiyoso, this Superleague is part of PBSI's vision and mission which are to popularize badminton and make it national sport ( cant translate exact word of Memasyarakatkan). Plus the particpants are from the best clubs and best players .
In Addition, few of foreign players will take part in this superleague. Such as Chen Hong(China), Ng Wei (HOngkong),Petya Nedelcheya ( Bulgaria) will play for Suryanaga Surabaya. Then there is Wang Chen for Tangkas, also Kendrick Lee ( Singapore) for Jayaraya then Lee tsuen seng ( Malaysia) for Musica Champion Club.
" The presence of foreign elite players surely will give a big boost to this Superleague. I will be calling on all Governors to finance the development of Badminton in their each provinces", said Sutiyoso.
Basically, by launching Indonesian superleague, Sutiyosos is convinced that it will put Indonesian badminton back on the map of the world..
At the end of the day, badminton supremacy of Indonesia whose once lost will be back.
Welcome to Indonesia Superleague!

huangkwokhau 06-06-2007, 08:34 PM wow...more and more HK players in Superleague....
huangkwokhau 06-06-2007, 09:42 PM It is reported that Rexy will not be coming and playing for Superleague after all eventhough he had been registered by 2 clubs and Suryanaga has the right to recruit him....citing the uproars may happen if he shows up at Superleague...no specifed details are given.
Krisna 06-08-2007, 02:07 AM Albertus Nyoto and Yohan Hadikusuma are not 'really' HK players. They are Indonesian products... actually, Djarum's products... :p
Krisna 06-12-2007, 05:52 AM Musica Champion failed to sign Lee Chong Wei because Misbun did not allow him to play at the Indonesian Superliga. Musica then signed Wu Yun from Hong Kong.
So the 5 non-original Musica champion players are:
Lee Tsuen Seng [MAS]
Wu Yun [HKG]
Hayom Rumbaka [Djarum]
Lingga Lie [Djarum]
M. Rijal [Djarum]
The Superliga rule said that the maximum number of non-original players [not a registered club member] is 5. Among the 5, the maximum number of foreign players: 2. This rule is implemented to encourage Indonesian clubs to develop their own players. Thus encouraging Indonesian badminton development.
Lioe Tiong Ping, Harianto Arby, Ade Lukas, Titon Gustaman etc. who are formerly from PB. Djarum have all been registered in PBSI as original Musica Champion players. Because they do not necessarily have compete under the PB. Djarum banner anymore.
Hayom, Lingga, and Rijal are still registered as Djarum players in PBSI [and Djarum still need them to actively represent Djarum], so their status is that they are borrowed by Musica. I heard from the Djarum coaches that they intentionally want these Djarum youngsters to get more match experience even though Djarum have no more room in their Superliga team.
Sandy 06-12-2007, 09:09 AM I thaught that "non original" players was counted from foreign and Pelatnas players only.

Why Wu yun? better to hire Boonsak or Wong Chung Hang...or Chan Yan Kit
Krisna 06-12-2007, 10:21 PM I thaught that "non original" players was counted from foreign and Pelatnas players only.
I do not think so. If so, then then it is unfair to excellent teams whose original home-bred players are already in large numbers in Pelatnas. Example: Jaya Raya women's team. Firda, Nana, Pia, Gresya, Rani, Nadya Nitya, etc. are already in Pelatnas...
Or do you mean non-original players [who are currently in Pelatnas] like Tommy Sugiarto [currently registered as Pelita] playing for Tangkas?
Krisna 06-12-2007, 10:29 PM Why Wu yun? better to hire Boonsak or Wong Chung Hang...or Chan Yan Kit
True... but maybe limited budget $$$ is a constraint :p or maybe the players have family commitments [like Peter Gade and Kenneth] or maybe the coaches of Boonsak etc. does not allow them... Example: I think Misbun does not allow any BAM elite players to play in INA Superliga. That includes Wong Choon Hann. Li Yongbo does not allow any of China's national team players to earn extra money in Indonesia... [Chen Hong is not in the national team anymore, so he can play for Suryanaga]

They are "original" Jaya Raya (exception Endang) not included in limited 5.
The examples "non original" Pelatnas players are :
Tommy Sugiarto (play for Tangkas)
M. Rijal, Lingga Lie, Bandar (play for Musica Champion)
Richi Dili (if SGS just lent her from PR Tasikmalaya)

Your point is now clear. :D But I really do not know of that Pelatnas-Foreign limit. I only know about the Foreign-non original limit.
I made a mistake in writing Endang as a Jaya Raya player. I meant Rani. I already edited my own post, if you notice in the thread.
Oh, I heard Bandar Sigit Pamungkas is not used by Musica anymore...

GOR Kuningan and GOR Britama? [GOR = sports building] Do you need the exact address? I do not have it right now... Sealman, do you plan to watch or something? I personally think the local taxi drivers know exactly where these places are without having the exact address.
GOR Kuningan is near the middle of Jakarta. GOR Kelapa Gading, where the finals will be held, is in Kelapa Gading area, in Northeast Jakarta.
Krisna 06-13-2007, 05:04 AM Here are 2 pictures of Luluk Hadiyanto, former world #1 in 2004. He will appear in the Superliga next week... ;) Possible partner: M. Ahsan, Rian Sukmawan, Fran Kurniawan, Yonathan Suryatama [Yoke], or even Sigit Budiarto...

I have heard news that we will see Luluk-Ahsan. Luluk-Yoke was also quite a lethal combo last December during the 2006 National Championship; those 2 guys have good chemestry. Some even said that Luluk-Yoke was more fantastic than Luluk-Alven. :p
We might also see possible surprise shows of Luluk-Rian or Luluk-Fran. I really doubt we shall see Luluk-Sigit... :p

Thanks Krisna. Yes I am tempted to make a short trip to Jakarta. Used to visit my local office at Sudirman area. I thought Kuningan is a 'buleh' area and Kelapa Gading = Sogo :) I hope the bluebird or silverbird taxi drivers know the way to these GOR.
Krisna 06-13-2007, 09:52 PM Kuningan is only 10-15 minutes from Sudirman with 'normal' traffic. But can be 30-60 min during rush hour.
samuel882 06-14-2007, 08:20 AM I was enthuastic to see such league being organized and form...
I hopes ABF or BWF could consider staging a Badminton Super League ; such as those Football mad : Champions League..
I know it might not be possible; However I wish countries as MAS/CHN can opened the door for their players to attach a clubs in other countries..
I really dont understand.. Y all the Players in CHN reached their retirement age only are allowed to play for other countries?
The rules are simple : Club is not a countries. They use their Club Banner to play in tournaments.. All the $$$ prizes they get is going back to their respective club and players.. not to the country...
I know it will badly affected the prestigous of TC; but I fink every MAD Badminton fans in this world would love to see its fare.

Champion's league type competition in badminton? That means top 3 clubs from the premiere league from each of the top nation? Indonesia will have the champion and rank 1-2-3 clubs. I think Denmark will have their 1-2-3. But China?!? I am not sure, maannnn... I don't think they have active big clubs there... :p
By the way, I am highly anxious to see the Superliga Bulutangkis next week... ;) :D It is going to be so cool to watch the top players play against each other every day for 10 days... :)
huangkwokhau 06-16-2007, 05:59 AM too bad..I can not go back to Indo...
Krisna 06-18-2007, 02:38 AM We may see PB. Jaya Raya field the newly formed pair Markis Kido-Candra Wijaya starting this Friday...

My suggestion of of "Badminton Champion's League" shld start v INA organised with their clubs are allowed to maximum of 4 imports player per team. And those "foreign Player" shld be high quality player such as LD/LCW /BP/CJ in MS & top MAS/KOREA/CHN/DEN/ENG pair in MD events.
However; I dun fink this CRAZY IDEA WOULD BE POSSIBLE...

I don't think adding the maximum number of non-Indonesian player should be increased to 4 players. It is against one of the original idea of creating this Superliga: to improve the quality of Indonesian badminton... If 4 foreign players can play in one team, then the clubs won't focus enough energy on developing their own Indonesian talent. :(
If we have too many foreign players, what will happen is like what happened in Germany. They have waaayyy too many foreigners allowed in their league. As a result: there aren't enough good German players. Sure they can get a Xu Huawen as a German, but not too many of those around... They have to mold their own players! ;)
huangkwokhau 06-18-2007, 09:51 AM actually the idea of superliga is to improve Indonesian's badminton..I think 2 foreign players to be included is enough ....I would like to see more INA players get more chance to compete....
Any final line up of foreign players? I am not sure if Wang Chen if she is injured....

If Wang Chen is still injured, then Tangkas' WS lineup is not that strong. They might have Yip Pui Yin as their 1st single, but then their 2nd and 3rd WS are vulnerable to Suryanaga, Djarum, and Jaya Raya... ;) Then Tangkas have to rely on their local talent versus the other 3 big club's mostly local talents... :p
Yuan Kartika and Melicia Kurniawan of Tangkas versus:
Pia Zebadiah and Fransisca Ratnasariof Jaya Raya
Maria Elfira and Rosaria Pungkasari of Djarum
Maria Febe and [B]Gustiani [or Wang Li Li] of Suryanaga
Waaahhh, I think Tangkas will have a hard time... :p Not necessarily loose, but a hard hard time... ;)

This is the schedule of day 1. Both matches are going to be played in Kuningan. For the complete schedule [in Indonesian], you can see it at: http://www.superligabadminton.com/schedule.php
Any predictions?!? :D
Krisna 06-19-2007, 02:05 AM Taufik Hidayat will play as SGS Elektrik's 1st MS and will probably face Budi Santoso of Mutiara Bandung. Budi is the last Indonesian to reach the All England finals. Budi was a Djarum player when he was at Pelatnas, but now that he is semi-retired, he coaches at Mutiara and play competitively from time to time.
Roslin H. will play as SGS's 2nd singles. Flandy and Yoga/Hendra will be SGS's 1st MD, and Taufik and Yoga/Hendra AG will be their 2nd MD... I predict a Flandy-Taufik, Yoga-Hendra AG doubles combo will appear sometime in Superliga Badminton...
Winner of this matchup between the rival clubs from Bandung city:
SGS Elektrik! ;)

Thanks for the photos. The superliga fever is on!!!
Suryanaga's Men's team have a better shot at the title compared to their Women's team. :p Their WD are not strong enough to compete with Jaya Raya, Tangkas, and Djarum...

If INA only rely on local talents, then no doubt the top producers of INA WS are Djarum and Jaya Raya.

I don't know who they are. But since their names sound very mainland Chinese... my best guess is that they are from one of the provinces of China... surely not from the National Team; Li Yongbo was against any Chinese National player participating in Indonesia's Superliga...

Ha ha ha ha ha... True. Seven straight days of observing how the top CHN players play shall be an eye-opener for the INA players trying to figure out how to topple the Chinese domination... :)
Mmmm, maybe in a couple of years when the Indonesian Superliga is a big event for badminton players all over the world and the money is big enough... even LYB can be seduced into sending CHN players [for a substantial fee, of course]... ;)
We already saw how the best players in South American football can be seduced by Euro-soccer-mania money. Now, even David Beckham want to move to the USA, an unestablished soccer country, for a price... ;)
$$$ Everybody has a price... $$$ :D

badminto_expert 06-20-2007, 02:00 AM No. Rexy can't join with Suryanaga because he still under Tangkas Club.
All National and International Players from Indonesia have to follow the PBSI Rules that They should be come back to club for join the superliga.
And each club can only hire max 4 foreigner players (2 MAN and 2 WOMEN).
It is reported that Rexy will not be coming and playing for Superleague after all eventhough he had been registered by 2 clubs and Suryanaga has the right to recruit him....citing the uproars may happen if he shows up at Superleague...no specifed details are given.
badminto_expert 06-20-2007, 02:03 AM No. Wang Chen already practise in Tangkas Club right now to preparing the tournament. That's OK for her. no injury.
Tangkas will be strong for Women Team and Suryanaga/Jayaraya will be strong for Man Team
:p Not necessarily loose, but a hard hard time... ;)
Krisna 06-20-2007, 03:00 AM No. Rexy can't join with Suryanaga because he still under Tangkas Club.
All National and International Players from Indonesia have to follow the PBSI Rules that They should be come back to club for join the superliga.
And each club can only hire max 4 foreigner players (2 MAN and 2 WOMEN).
No. Actually, the rule said each team per gender can only hire max 2 players of that gender. The rules made never said each team can hire max 4. :p Note: Bina Bangsa only has a women's team in the Superliga. Same thing for Musica Champions, they did not even field a Women's team.
Rexy can technically very well join Suryanaga even if he is still registered under the Tangkas club. The rules said max 5 players not PBSI-registered under the club's name. So Suryanaga can hire max 2 foreigners per gender and 3 more non Suryanaga players per gender. ;) That includes Rexy... if both Tangkas and Rexy agrees... :p
Krisna 06-20-2007, 03:02 AM No. Wang Chen already practise in Tangkas Club right now to preparing the tournament. That's OK for her. no injury.
Tangkas will be strong for Women Team and Suryanaga/Jayaraya will be strong for Man Team
Ok, cool! Bring her on! Wang Chen will make the badminton quality of the competition even higher! She will face Firda, Maria Kristin, Nadya etc... ;) Cool matches!
badminto_expert 06-20-2007, 10:45 AM Oh. I think you are Suryanaga Fun.
If Suryanaga want to hire Rexy, so Suryanaga must pay the transfer fee. It is the PBSI Rules. Tangkas not agree to release Rexy man.
Yes,You are right. 2 max for man and 2 max for women. It is right.
No. Actually, the rule said each team per gender can only hire max 2 players of that gender. The rules made never said each team can hire max 4. :p Note: Bina Bangsa only has a women's team in the Superliga. Same thing for Musica Champions, they did not even field a Women's team.

badminto_expert 06-20-2007, 10:49 AM Oh. Last time you said: Wang Chen still injured. So now you said shewill face Firda, Maria, Dadya. Which one the right?
You try to make anybody here beleive to you and you hope wang Chen injured. I think you don't like this club "Tangkas" right.
Don't mention anything until got confirmation OK.

You can follow our thread on sudirman cup...She was listed in HK sudirman cup squad and she did not go as she was injured....so we are afraid that she might not play for Superliga....I guess her injury is not that serious...
Pls do not assume that we do not like Tangkas at all......
Krisna 06-20-2007, 11:41 AM Oh. Last time you said: Wang Chen still injured. So now you said shewill face Firda, Maria, Dadya. Which one the right?

Wait, do you follow international badminton development or not?!?!? Most people know that Wang Chen did not play in several Sudirman Cup games last week citing that she was injured! Yip Pui Yin, who is the 2nd highest ranked Hong Kong player played WS for HK instead. You don't know this? That's why I said Wang Chen was injured.
Now that you insist that she is not injured anymore, then I said OK, then maybe she has recovered. Very possible. Fine. Bring her on. If Wang Chen is healthy, like you said, then she will be Tangkas' 1st WS and she will play against Firda [Jaya Raya's 1st WS], Maria [Djarum's 1st WS], Nadya [Suryanaga's 1st WS], etc... I just point out the most likely matchups that will happen and I think those matches will be cool.
Do you still think we said she was injured to belittle Tangkas?

Krisna 06-20-2007, 12:02 PM If Suryanaga want to hire Rexy, so Suryanaga must pay the transfer fee. It is the PBSI Rules. Tangkas not agree to release Rexy man.
Many normal PBSI rules do not apply to the Superliga setting. Including the transfer fee rule. Tangkas can still retain Rexy as a PB. Tangkas player in the PBSI list, but Rexy can play on behalf of Suryanaga during Superliga Badminton with the approval of Tangkas, of course. But no transfer fee is required.
Check the Superliga rules, not just the normal PBSI rules. Furthermore, the 2007 PBSI Tournament System [Sistim Kejuaraan PBSI 2007] also clearly stipulate and confirm that Superliga Badminton rules can be different than the normal PBSI rules as written in AD/ART PBSI. You know, the orange booklet that was given to all PBSI officials in the headquarters and the regions [Pengda PBSI] at the beginning of the year.
Why don't you ask Koh Juniarto, Koh Henry, or Koh Kurniahu of Tangkas. They can explain to you what I mean.
Krisna 06-20-2007, 12:09 PM Oh. I think you are Suryanaga Fun.
Me? A Suryanaga fan?
No. Wrong guess. I am from Central Java, so naturally I tend to like Djarum and Musica Champion. ;)
Anyway, Huangkwokhau [Hau-ge] is correct. Badminton Central is not the place to attack us fellow fans. We can be supportive towards our own respective favorite team but not attacking/accusing/be hostile towards other Badminton Central members. Let's just have fun, enjoy the badminton world, just be fellow badminton fans, shall we... :D
Krisna 06-20-2007, 12:24 PM Nadya [Suryanaga's 1st WS]

Thats correct....not his fault as Superliga listed Lili Wang from Sinagpore instead of China....;)
badminto_expert 06-20-2007, 09:39 PM Oh. I see. Thanks a lot for your information. I think better going back to Jakarta and watch the liga.
Sory badminto expert. The Lili play in suryanaga is WAng Li Li which is from China not singapore
Sandy 06-20-2007, 09:49 PM Wang Li Li is from China but her nationality is Indonesia
Is she counted as foreign or local player ?
huangkwokhau 06-20-2007, 09:54 PM Wang Li Li is from China but her nationality is Indonesia

Should be local player...I thought she is still holding Chinese passport..
badminto_expert 06-21-2007, 12:05 AM I hold PBSI AD/ART, So If player register under 1 club and this player want to go to another club (join the tournament, left to the club/go to another club), This person have to pay the "Uang Pembinaan".

The most recent version of AD/ART PBSI is the green booklet, dated 2005 but published sometime in 2006. Please also read the orange booklet [Sistim Kejuaraan PBSI 2007] published earlier this year and the Superliga Badminton rules. :)
A player XYZ can just play for another club in Superliga without paying the "Uang Pembinaan". The status of player XYZ in PBSI is still registered in that club, but he/she can play for any other club, with permission.
If you read today's Indopos or Jawapos or any of the Radar newspaper owned by Jawapos. They briefly discussed it. This year there is still no transfer fee required. Even though, in practice, there are some money already being payed to the club [in order to get permission].
For instance: Maria Febe of Djarum, plays for Suryanaga for the next 10 days, but she is still registered as a Djarum player. Maria Febe will start wearing the Djarum uniform again when she plays at the Thailand Open GP right after Superliga finishes. Suryanaga paid a few million Rupiah to Djarum just so that Maria Febe plays under Suryanaga for this next 10 days. ;)
For further clarification, please contact the key people in Tangkas or Jaya Raya or any of the clubs competing at the Superliga. ...whomever you know there. They can help clarify things.
Krisna 06-21-2007, 02:05 AM INDOSIAR TV is going from one club practice to another to cover and interview the teams... Cool! They want to make a profile for each team... Wow things are really warming up... :D
Krisna 06-21-2007, 05:51 AM I went to see the teams practice in GOR Sumantri Brojonegoro, Kuningan... The AC was not on, so it was hot and humid... The hall is quite big. There aren't enough crowd room... less than Istora...

fabcargo 06-21-2007, 09:33 PM i travelled with the team from SUB to JKT. here are a few pics i took. the team arrived on wednesday and had 1st practice at the hall before any other team. all member had arrived except for jeffer because his wife delivered their 2nd child in singapore.
everyone had a good time at the 1st practice, especially trikus who was laughing throughout the whole practice session. after his doubles sessions with alvent against bambang and vicky he played singles with maria febe. poor maria, she had big problems with trikus' trick shots and was flat footed most times.
all in all the team spirit was very high. good luck to suryanaga!

Because I sometimes see the pretty artists/movie stars/singers in the crowd. They are, after all, Indonesians, so naturally many of them love badminton.

Tangkas def. Jaya Raya: 4-1
The money that Tangkas spent to bring Wang Chen and Yip Pui Yin from Hong Kong apparently paid off here... Before they hired these 2 HK players, Tangkas is very beatable by Jaya Raya in all 3 singles. But since Tangkas was willing to pay the $$price$$ of winning, today, they annihilated Jaya Raya. :D On the other hand, Jaya Raya Women relied only on their home-bred players. Similar to Djarum [Men & Women] and Bina Bangsa Women.

Jaya Raya def. Tangkas 4-1
This result is the reverse of what happened to the Women's team. Even though Tangkas hired three players, they still got clobbered by Jaya Raya. Albertus-Yohan [who were Djarum players who moved to HK now hired-guns of Tangkas] pushed Candra-Kido to 3 games. In the end they experience of Candra and the energetic play of Kido prevailed.
Kendrick Lee and Ronald Susilo, Jaya Raya's first two hired guns did their job. Tangkas' third hired-gun, Tommy Sugiarto from PB. Pelita, was the only saviour from a Jaya Raya blowout! :p Tommy defeated Taufik Akbar of PB. SBS, who is Jaya Raya's third hired gun.

Krisna 06-22-2007, 01:41 PM wow..taufik needed 3 sets to beat Sartono Ekopranoto.. who is he ? anyone knows ?
Sartono Eko Pranoto is Mutiara's 10-day Superliga hired gun. He is from Djarum and a practice partner of Andre Kurniawan and Ari Yuli Wahyu. His younger sister is Anastasya Emaya who was also from Djarum from her primary school to highschool years in Kudus. Later on, she moved to Mutiara Bandung and studies at a university in Bandung.
Sartono Eko is not very highly ranked and not among the best in his club. His most recent appearance that I remember is playing in the first round of 2007 Indonesia Open Super Series.
Krisna 06-22-2007, 01:42 PM Isn't it someone with the nickname "Kiki" who plays abroad.. In Europe? I think Sweden???
Correct! I know him as Kiki too... :p He spent some time in Sweden. Now he is back practicing with Andre & co. in Djarum.

Krisna 06-23-2007, 02:23 PM I only saw the night games... I saw:
Women
Djarum vs. SGS Elektrik 5:0
Tangkas vs. Suryanaga 5:0
Men
Suryanaga vs. Djarum 4:1
Tangkas vs. SGS Elektrik 3:2

The Taufik vs. Simon match was the best match of the day! Crazy game! Very tense, very unpredictable! The atmosphere was very exciting! :D
Simon played well! Taufik played well! :) Both have their fan-base! So half of the crowd were pro-Taufik, half were pro-Simon...
The final game was the first rally point game I ever saw live that reached 30-29. Taufik almost immediately vomitted after the match ended....:eek: Never saw that ever! Even Lin Dan, Lee Chong Wei, Bao Chunlai, and Peter Gade never made Taufik vomit... :o
Later on, after the toughly contested Roslin vs. Alamsyah match, Alamsyah did or said something to the SGS players after he won. The SGS player stood up, and then I think Taufik almost punch Alamsyah...:eek::eek: before his other friends held him away... I was too far away to witness the second-by-second event, but I was pretty sure a brawl almost took place...
In the end, Tangkas defeated SGS Elektrik 3-2 after their so-far-undefeated hired gun, Tommy Sugiarto narrowly defeated Haryawan. Supposedly, Haryawan is Coach Mulyo's brother in law and people say he was a Djarum player when he was a teenager. Later on, other clubs hired him.
Krisna 06-23-2007, 02:41 PM too bad i can't see this Superliga,i'm still at China :(
maybe anyone know how to watch this liga via internet stream..???
i WANT to see it......
Sorry, no such thing... :p INA in general cannot be called an internet society yet. So the event organizers did not feel the need to provide internet stream etc.... :p
kobe77sg 06-23-2007, 06:34 PM Sandy thanks for your update
krisna thanks for your detail update
kobe77sg 06-23-2007, 06:39 PM I amvery disapointed with SGS lost 2-3 to Tangkas especially when I know that Roslin lost to Alamsyah.
It is a waste of money as they need to come out with as sum of money to bring him but in the end lost to the player which is not better than him
Double_Player 06-23-2007, 08:10 PM I never knew about this untill now...I guess I've been playing too much with my car :D (full turbo back exhaust, newer turbo and FMIC is coming soon)
badMania 06-23-2007, 09:04 PM I amvery disapointed with SGS lost 2-3 to Tangkas especially when I know that Roslin lost to Alamsyah.

Hmm....Alamsyah showed good progress lately....
badMania 06-23-2007, 09:07 PM For the men's, as expected, Suryanaga Gudang Garam is so far very good, beating one of its main rival (Djarum) quite convincingly 4-1. Matches against Jaya Raya and Tangkas will be highly entertaining as well....
As for the women's, Tangkas should be champion, with Jaya Raya and Djarum vying for runner-up spots.

Sorry, misinformed kobe77sg and others... :o:o My fault, for thinking that Alamsyah won in the end. Yes, now I remember, Roslin won the last game! An awfully close game... 21-15, 21-23, 25-23 won by Roslin! :o
Indopos also mentioned about the event leading to the 'almost brawl'. After the loss to Roslin, Alamsyah gave 'an evil look' [melotot] towards the SGS team... and then an emotional battle of words erupted, ...which led to some people leaving the bench, with Taufik and Mulyo Handoyo in the frontline...
According to Indopos, they are all friends again now...
Krisna 06-23-2007, 11:39 PM Indopos, Jawapos, and Topscore newspaper are bringing the best news regarding this Superliga Badminton...
Krisna 06-23-2007, 11:40 PM However, I need to note that Indopos misinformed us today: Suryanaga defeated Djarum 5-0, it said. Well, the truth is 4-1, like what Kompas and the other newspaper quoted.
Krisna 06-23-2007, 11:43 PM For the men's, as expected, Suryanaga Gudang Garam is so far very good, beating one of its main rival (Djarum) quite convincingly 4-1. Matches against Jaya Raya and Tangkas will be highly entertaining as well....

I completely agree with your opinion! :D
"Great minds think alike..."
RSLdude 06-23-2007, 11:47 PM I don't think adding the maximum number of non-Indonesian player should be increased to 4 players.
They have to mold their own players! ;)
Krisna,
I agree on you on this issue. If Indonesia wants to improve the level of badminton, it should focus first in its territory and try to develop the "grassroots" players ideally at an early age. Try to get more corporate sponsors to help fund the training both locally and internationally like in China. Adding foreign players will not guarantee that the level of play will most likely to elevate. Always remember that Indonesia was once (and still is) a powerhouse in badminton but your badminton warriors are being outclassed by China (like in the Sudirman Cup 2007 finals) and other Asian neighbors like Korea, Malaysia and Japan in other tournaments as well. Take note that in the sport of badminton, just like tennis, the retirement age comes early.
Krisna 06-24-2007, 12:08 AM True, adding foreign players to the Superliga is no guarantee that our INA players will become better. But it is guaranteed to increase the level of play and increase the uncertainty of the overall club vs. club results... Which most likely means more viewers and sponsors...
Oh, by the way the shuttlecock used by this tournament is RSL. He he he
Joe P 06-24-2007, 12:11 AM Wow, exciting stuff! Thanks for all the updates guys, really appreciate it. :)
I don't suppose anyone can put any of these matches up for download?
Thanks again!
Joe P.
RSLdude 06-24-2007, 12:17 AM Krisna,
Thanks for your updates on the Superliga!
It's a disappointment that badminton in the Philippines do not get enough support from the government. Locally, club tournaments do not offer an attractive cash reward for winners. Aspiring national players do not have the luxury to train abroad (except for a selective few). I just hope we can have a "Superliga" here someday.

Krisna,
What RSL shuttlecock did they exactly use? :)
Krisna 06-24-2007, 11:21 AM Sunday, June 24th evening day update:
Women
Jaya Raya vs. Mutiara Bandung 5-0
Djarum Kudus vs. Suryanaga Surabaya 5-0
Men
Djarum Kudus vs. SGS Elektrik Bandung 3-2
Suryanaga Surabaya vs. Tangkas Jakarta 4-0 so far... Ng Wei and Tommy Sugiarto are playing in their last rubber game...
I wasn't around in the afternoon, but according to the www.superligabadminton.com (http://www.superligabadminton.com)
Women
SGS Elektrik Bandung vs. Ratih Banten 4-1
Tangkas Jakarta vs. Bina Bangsa Jakarta 5-0
Men
Jaya Raya Jakarta vs. Mutiara Bandung 5-0
Musica Champion Kudus vs. Ratih Banten 3-2
Krisna 06-24-2007, 11:23 AM Krisna,
What RSL shuttlecock did they exactly use? :)
RSL No. 1 :)
RSL is also the official sponsor of Suryanaga Surabaya... :)
Krisna 06-24-2007, 11:29 AM In the Women Division, so far...
Tangkas have won three in a row, collected 15-0 record
Djarum have won three in a row, collected 15-0 record
They will meet tomorrow at 6:30pm... ;) We will probably see:
Wang Chen vs. Maria Kristin
Yip Pui Yin vs. Maria Elfira
Yuan Kartika vs. Rosaria Yusfin Pungkasari
Jo Novita-Endang Nursugianto vs. Meliana Jauhari-Shendy Puspa
Vita Marissa-Lili Natsir vs. Purwati-Yulianti
My prediction: 4-1 Tangkas, with the only loss coming from Yuan Kartika in the hands of Rosaria Pungkasari... ;)
But who knows, Maria Kristin defeated Petya today. Convincingly! In a lop-sided straight games... She might stretch Wang Chen a little more than before...
