Can you use badminton shoes outside of badminton?, like for track, basketball, hiking and stuff?

i know you can use it, but is it good for the shoes? does it do any harm to it? well it be bad for u, like more accident prone?(sprianed ankle or something)

It definitely won't be good for the shoes. They'd probably be okay for volleyball, but you want more ankle support for basketball. You definitely want more grip for hiking. And it's probably better to have more forward-running suited cushion for track.

If you're fifteen or younger I wouldn't suggest hitting the weight room yet... sticking with your own body weight's abilities to provide resistence with strengthening is probably the best idea.

Hmm...
Well, I recently got a new pair of shoes by Yonex, in addition to the pair of mizuno wave something something (sorry dont remember name)...
While the mizuno's would be good for volleyball... I personally would not use them for any other activities...

Even more so, for the YY pair... I would not get enough traction for hiking in the mountain with either pair of shoes, also the soft mesh materials would probably get destroyed easily.

For basketball, my preference would be to get more ankle support, i think that's why most shoes for b-ball are generally high tops?

Although... i noticed some people hiking in heavy-duty workman boots before... while they may be heavy, they do have steel toe protectors, and gave the guy ample support hahaha :D

Volleyball & badminton are often interchangable. I've seen some models advertised as either -- the same shoe labelled as a badminton shoe in the UK has been sold as a v'ball shoe in the US.

If you want an all-purpose shoe, many, but not all, cross-training shoes might be suitable. I've used some of the New Balance and Nike crosstrainers for this very purpose. The Nike Air Monarch II is my favorite (the Air Monarch III is also ok, but I prefer the cushioning in the older II). I have used this shoe for tennis, volleyball, and badminton with good results.

no it wouldnt do them good because they are specially designed for badminton alone so the souls of the shoes would probably tear of in no time at all.

well like i finished a pair of court shoes already some asics so i dont use them to play badminton anymore so i wear them when i workout, they have very good coushining so i use them when i run around the track and on the tread mill and in the weightroom. if i was playing volleyball or basketball i have a pair of volleyball shoes (mizunos) and a pair of basketball shows so yeah im covered there but i have seen many people wear yonex shoes for squash since thats ok an also just reguralyin everyday life once the yonex shoes are no longer court worthy that is. I dont think ill be wearing my 99les as everyday shoes when they die though lol just for the fact that there so bright and well yeah wouldnt go good with most clothes haha.
