A friend of mine just had his racquet re-strung with BG80. He's helping me practice and I use nylon shuttlecocks. Are they really bad for his BG80? I'd feel bad if my nylon shuttlecocks broke his string. But on the other hand he does not smash when we practice; he just passes the shuttlecock so I can practice my strokes and footwork. Should I feel guilty? :)

Thanks for your advice.

Your friend will not snap a string if he is not actually playing. From my experience, BG80 strings can wear and tear quicker with nylon shuttlecocks. When I had my ISO800 and strung it with BG80 at 20lbs, I only got 4 weeks out of the string. Major wear and tear. Nevertheless, a good control string with good power. :)

Feeling guilty? No need. It's his own choice to use those strings and play with nylon shuttles. BG80 don;t last too long with feather shuttles either.

From my experience it doesn't matter what birds you use, as long as you hit hard with them, they'll snap sooner.
