i have the new color at700 and found its head lighter than the old color version.
DivingBirdie 04-06-2007, 03:26 AM how do u differentiate a new one from and old one?
foo.tw 04-06-2007, 03:33 AM The new AT700 is supposed to be as good as old AT700. But the truth seems to vary.
vagpwner 04-06-2007, 05:38 AM i checked the yonex sports showroom today. seems that the old and new at700 are the same except for cosmetics according to the salesperson
Zangetsu 04-06-2007, 06:19 AM This could be become something like old Ti-10 vs new Ti-10 ?
It would make sense to me if they have altered the AT 700 a little bit since it was the head heaviest AT of all. New that the 900 came out they have to make the 900P the head heaviest of all by lighten the 700.
But this is just my personal thought, I have never touched a 700 nor 900.
fishmilk 04-07-2007, 09:24 AM To what extent is it more headlight? I know of a guy who uses AT700's and in the most recent tournament I've been to, I saw him on the court with one new and one old AT700. He seemed to be able to use both interchangeably.
bad_fanatic 04-07-2007, 03:26 PM I have both the new one and old one in both 3U and 4U and they are the same in weight. The feel of the racquet doesn't seem to change either. To me it's the same racquet with different look.
I tried the AT900P and I didn't think it's as head heavy as the AT700. Between the AT900P and AT900T, the AT900T has a much better feel.
Slicedbanana07 05-03-2007, 10:16 PM I currently own the new Amortec700 (3U), and was able to try out the older version of mine. I definitely felt a difference overall. The new at700, still head-heavy-feel like the original, felt lighter and more nimble. My friend who i play with agreed with me on that statement that it felt lighter although in actual fact, none of the stats have changed from the original at700.

1) How many slice can you slice a banana?
2) The old At700 you have, is it a 2U or 3U? Just wondering.
3) According to Yonex spec, even at same weight code, it can still differe up to 4g for the same model.
4) What is the different between a black Honda S2000 and red one in performance?
I will ask Yonex rep (not about the S2000, he drives a Lexus) this weekend or early next week. I hope I can have a good answer you all of you.
Kelvin 05-03-2007, 11:31 PM funny... I have both new & old at700 as well in 3u, with the exact same grip size (g3), and treatment... and the same string tension @ 30lbs.
I feel no difference... really.
I'm assuming one of the ones you compared is slightly lighter weight or heavier of the 3U category... people will notice the 4g difference...
If you have the same sized grip handles, and same grip treatment... i doubt you will really notice much.
LOL Master Heart :D good stuff as usual.
But other than weight the racquet is the exact same according to advertised specs...
edit: speaking of which, I'm selling all my 3ug4 racquets if anyone is interested, I found I was getting hand cramps from the tiny grip :o moved up to G3 now :D
Slicedbanana07 05-03-2007, 11:34 PM I own the new amortec700 which is 3U. The older one I tried was also the 3U. You are right in saying that the rackets range can be as much as 4g, which is probabaly the reason why my one felt more nimble.
